If calculations are correct that means that James Bond and Han Solo will be fighting it out. There can only be one winner.

Bond like Star Wars have their franchise pull of fans, I don't think it will matter if both films came out at the same time, for fans of both they will pay to see both. Most people these days seem to pay monthly for an unlimited cinema pass, a lot of die hard's go and see these films 3 or 4 times. Both will be hyped up to max with anticipation and both will do well.

That's good news, I'd hate to have to pick one. I have a morbib curiosity to see how young Han turns out. Hopefully better than young indie.

Can't get much worse than young Indy mate. LOL
Interesting fact that Daniel Craig appeared in an episode of young Indy.

Dan is such a Harrison Ford fan boy, he cant help, any chance he can get he will dress like Indy https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/32/c4/d3/32c4d32532c5aa2a248a67a7e0024b6d.jpg

Cowboys and Aliens, not for artistic merit, but was all about getting to work with Harrison.

Quite a misleading tweet. They stated that it was purely speculative.

It would be a shame if Dan didn't do one more.

For some reason, I was under the impression impression that Empire Magazine and the theatre chain were affiliated with each other. Back to square one indeed.

@marketoo007, that Twitter account is an affiliate of the British magazine, I take it? I'm curious why they've posted their speculation on Bond 25 now as opposed to sooner, and why they seem to be in Dan's corner, when most of the world has turned their backs.

Does Empire magazine usually get good Bond scoops?
No, Empire Cinemas is a cinema chain and is completely unrelated to Empire Magazine.

Personally I still say November 2018 with Craig is quite doable

Of course this also means my two favorite to replace Craig (Fassbender and Hardy) will likely be too old to do the role (as they will be 41/40 by the time the final Craig film comes out and 44/43 by the time their "first" film is done)

I will make a prediction now that sticking with Craig will keep the most people happy. They could ignore the Blofeld storyline, give us a cracking standalone film, a swansong for Craig and then move on.

    Just a thought.

If this comes out in 2018 or later, then it's more likely we get a standalone finale with Craig. Enough time would have passed so that we could just move on without reliving the SP storyline, which would suit me just fine.

Still, I don't see Craig going for it unless it's something new for his character. He won't want to repeat himself and a standalone mission may not be enticing enough for him as an actor.

I don't see Craig returning for a standalone mission, especially not after another 3 year layoff. However awkwardly they've managed to do it, they've somewhat positioned themselves for a YOLT adaptation. If Craig returns, I'd imagine that he'd want to take on that story, as it would allow him to flex those acting muscles that your average, lowly Bond film doesn't allow for.

If they manage to wrangle him back, he will have a lot of say in how things go. If that's what he wants to do, they aren't in a position to boss him around.

Which I am fine with again if Bond 25 is a film based mostly on You Only Live twice I would love it my only question would be

For the final battle in movie form of bond vs Blofeld should the film be titled The Garden of Death or Blofeld?

I would love a correct ending to the battle VS Blofeld/Spectre, but I just hope they won't make it a "fight between brothers" bullshit again.
But they will have to, 'cause it's here, they've written it. They can't just ignore it right now. It bothers me a lot.

Not too old IMO..would still be younger than Craig.

True but the issue is you need to think about timing and that is the issue lets go with Hardy who is 38 right now even if we get a bond film every other year at 44 he could do at most 3 maybe 4 before he will be too old

    Bond 26 at 44
    Bond 27 at 46
    Bond 28 at 48
    Bond 29 at 50

I am not saying that would not be impossible also before everyone pushes the Hardy is too well known is he really? The man usually picks independent films or villain roles... Apart from four films he really is just doing independent films.

Hardy is starring in Nolan's 'Dunkirk' (2017) alongside pop star Harry Styles.

Hardy would also be 41 by late 2018 (both Fassbender and Hardy were 1977 babies). Your point still stands, of course.

I am getting really annoyed at the dumb media claiming all these actors are in talk for Bond..

Craig hasn't officially signed off on Bond. Yes he made a comment saying "I would rather slash my wrists", but Craig ends up in the hospital or injured every film. He also is most likely exhausted he gets in incredible shape and travels a lot and it takes a lot out of a person. Pre production then production then promoting the film.

I have been an actor for 12 years and I don't think people understand the scale of Bond films and how much work it takes to create them...

Also!! Hiddelston, Hardy and Elba will NOT be Bond. We won't get an announcement until the end of the year or early next year. They are all way to old to start a new chapter in the Bond franchise. Also keep in mind if Elba was Bond, he would produce one film..

Why would Barbara hire a guy for one film? She would only hire someone to do at least three or four. I just can't see them hiring an actor for one to two films. Makes no sense. In my opinion either Craig comes back or we get an English actor in his 25s-30s.

There's a greater chance of a young bond series then Elba or any of the other "rumored" actors becoming Bond... LOL.

It's just so amusing to see all these media websites going crazy over guys allegedly signing on or in talks.

Seems like this happens every time Craig has a small break in between films. It's really funny. I remember seeing posts claiming Craig was "fired", and they were upset with his performances... Like really

The thing about Disney is that they're a bloody efficient operation, for both better and worse. It means that their long-term planning is second to none; look at the Marvel and Star Wars calendars and you'll see that everything is planned out years in advance, including the production team. That means the series has a clear and consistent direction, there's no Spectre-esque retcons, and the future of the brand is never in doubt. On the other hand, EON never seems to have any clue what to do with the franchise after each installment, leading us to the shambles that we're seeing right now.

But it also means that Bond would likely be sucked dry for every dollar they can get their hands on. Spin off films and TV series could become a very real possibility. Depending on your perspective, that could either be great or dilute the brand entirely.

I don't really know if Disney would be right for Bond, but I doubt it'll happen anyway.

I agree with all of this. Bond isn't in the Disney image ultimately so it is doubtful.

I agree. I would imagine they'll get someone in their 30s (after the next movie or for the next movie, whatever the case may be) so that they can make several movies (25 sounds a bit too young).

Has there been any kind of official report on doing a faithful version of YOLT? I see it surface quite often on this thread in fairly definitive terms. Or is this just a wishlist item by a fan(s)? (Kind of like that whole Arctic Monkey thing that appeared in almost every other response for nearly a year before SP?)
