If you were to show a Bond-virgin ONE scene from the entire series

    Oh that's easy.

Introduction of Connery at the Casino in Dr. No.

    Yep.

Timothy Dalton entering the casino in LTK. If that doesn't put them off then it's plain sailing from there.

I either take the double take pigeon, the Tsunami surfing or the Tarzan yell from Octopussy. Then you will know whether he becomes a real Bond fan or not :-)

I'd probably show them the bomb defusing scene in Octopussy for the suspense factor of the James Bond films.

    :))

I have to admit I've thought there is something "off" about his performance in those scenes.

Well it must be his so-called "Dracula hair"!

It feels...I think "mannered" at times is the word.

I've always had Dalton's dramatic turn to camera "I got the message" as a series highlight. Then again, I think I would have to go with something from Dr No. Either the poker scene, or the scene with Dent.

(Special shoutout to the train sequence from SPECTRE. I always loved Craigs "I don't know", I just wish they had used the take from the trailer.)

Thinking about one iconic scene, I keep going back to Bond on the laser
    Table in Goldfinger.
  • Scaramanga s flying car.

And you get JW in that scene...bonus!

For a boy: The Lotus diving off the pier and turning into a sub. That did it for me.

Wow, I can't believe the Tennyson scene from SF hasn't been mentioned yet. Far and away my favorite Bond moment ever, and a perfect summation of everything the character is and stands for.

Giving it a watch you see Bond's loyalty, endurance, commitment and unflappable manner as he races off to protect his boss to the tune of a score that is sweeping, emotive and powerful. The lines of Ulysses perfectly represent both Bond and M, two vets worn out by the world who still keep pushing, just as the lines are also a perfect representation for the Bond franchise as a whole, which has endured many shake-ups, but always promises to return as the credits roll.

It's a scene of beautiful promise, giving you the hope that when things turn sour, a precise instrument like Bond is around to save the day.

Maybe the SP PTS but calling that a scene is like calling a run on sentence a paragraph. However, I would go with the CR PTS for its subtle yet powerful entrance for Craig's Bond.

  • Can we add this to the close of CR and make it one scene? Just too beautiful to ignore.

"Outlandish Bond": PTS Goldfinger. Classic movie Bond, defines what made cinematic Bond so popular in a few minutes.

"Fleming Bond": totally agree with the sniper scene in TLD, espionage behind the Iron Curtain at its finest. Right from the pages of Fleming's short story.

As much as I love the pts from TLD, I'd have to go with the laser table scene from GF.

  • So many great suggestions! For me it's the train scene in FRWL. Sean Connery and Robert Shaw are perfect! One of the few times in the entire series that Bond appears to be in serious trouble!

Fantastic scene BUT you need to also need to see the Q scene in that film for it to really work.
