Do we really believe that The Cruise will allow someone to steal the show from him?

The Mountain Between Us reminds me of Liam Neeson's The Grey.

It also reminds me of 1997's The Edge, which is a superb film. It stars Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. Highly recommended.

I was going to mention that, too, @bondjames. :D

Did you know Martin Campbell is adapting a Hemingway novel, starring Brosnan? This was news to me. :)

They must enjoy working together, since they also have The Foreigner coming up too. :)

I do believe they've been enjoying a good friendship over the decades since working on GoldenEye. :)

Looks good. Very atmospheric. I hope they deliver a winner because the original is one of my favourite films.

I just do hope they cut back from using modern music or 21st century pop songs on romantic era period pieces like this. I know it's only the trailer, but either make a Sherlock out of it, or just produce some old fashioned classic when presenting a story set in the 1930s.

Either way, I'll be watching this. He sounds like a very different Poirot from the one we know with Christie's novels and the previous film adaptations, but I'll be keeping an open mind.

1st trailer for Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express:

Good ensemble cast which will be a big part of the draw for this interpretation, the 1974 movie is almost perfect though glad to see Christie work back on the big screen. The music choice at the end of the trailer was poor.

Very poor. Can't understand why all of these trailers for movies taking place in the past use some of the most garbage pop music of today to sell it.

That song not sure what it is took me right out of the trailer at the end, maybe it's to try and draw in the younger demographic.

Which is a terrible idea in and of itself - there's no way a teenager is unfazed by that entire trailer, just to hear an unrelated song at the end and go "Oh, they're marketing this for me, now I have to see it!" Same with 'The Great Gatsby' ditching jazz for the horrid pop/rap choices.

1st trailer for Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express:

May I ask all of you a honest question? Wouldn't you prefer if they film one of the many, many other brilliant mysteries Agatha Christie conceived, if only not to know the solution from the beginning? I honesty lack the words to express how tired I am of reboots, prequels , sequels or merely new adaptions. Also, apart from featuring the political correct black as a doctor ( no less!),
they also seem to keep it very close to the 70s adaptation so I honestly see no reason whatsoever for this movie (and so many others). But of course, that's just me!

I avoided the Gatsby remake hearing that I'll avoid it permanently, I don't think F. Scott Fitzgerald would have approved of modern pop in his great depression set classic I am dumbfounded by the committees who dream up these ideas.

I have to echo what has been said about this trend for ill fitting music in trailers. Also the moustache is very ott, it looks like a parody of Poirot's moustache.
