    SmallTalk

    Filmed simultaneously with B26: ChitChat

(But let's be honest, there will be no SmallTalk and no ChitChat. That's the trouble with the world these days. No one takes the time to do a really sinister interrogation anymore.)

It would be the greatest thing ever if it turned out Bond 25 was actually a Hannes Oberhouser spin off movie

    I'd watch it.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

It would be the greatest thing ever if The Avenging Silence turned out to be Bond 25.

Still feeling out this new way to use the word "greatest".

An obvious thing to take on for titles is a foreign language name or phrase, the short story "Risico" is one example.
Another is the Casino Royale chapter title Rouge Et Noir.
Though that one would attract the usual complaint that "Bond has gone rouge again".

That's already the title of a novel by Stendhal: Le Rouge et le Noir.

Feel kind of bad now. Kind of.

Found an article yesterday regarding B25 being potentially shot at Pinewood Atlanta Studios (i.e. Bond set in the US!) and sent Pinewood an email asking if there was any truth to this story. (I didn't exactly buy it, because come on, this site couldn't know that 15m before filming?!) Seems like the site got a slap on the wrist.

Changed it from: "Eon Productions recently set a November 2019 release date for the yet untitled James Bond 25. Little else officially has been confirmed about the film, although the picture is planning to shoot at Pinewood Atlanta Studios, which are owned by Eon."

Then: "Eon Productions recently set a November 2019 release date for the yet untitled James Bond 25. Little else officially has been confirmed about the film, including whether shooting locations will include Pinewood Atlanta Studios (Bond films are traditionally filmed at the main Pinewood facilities in the United Kingdom)."

(Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct that Eon Productions does not own Pinewood Studios, it is only headquartered at Pinewood in London, and it is unknown whether the film will use the Atlanta Pinewood facilities. ArtsATL regrets the errors.)

The best way to kill rumours is to tackle them head on. Voilà.

    Interesting...

Thing is, many of Marvel's films are using Atlanta as a film location because it's cheap. I've a good friend who lives there and oversaw the set of Captain America: Civil War as it was being shot there. So, is it perhaps because it's cheaper to film there the Bond crew are heading that way?

Of course, this could purely be a speculation.

Generally I don't like the look of Bond movies when they are shot in the US so I hope it's not true. Surely there's still more exotic locations that are affordable.

Maybe they are looking to cut costs?

Would be great news! Also makes it more realistic the USA will become a main on-location shooting point :-). Although DAF to me is a rather bad film, the cinematography in Las Vegas -City of Lights- is still stunning.

I can't see it being called Shatterhand, really. Shatterhand only means something to us, Bond-fans, and I'm sure EoN is/will be aware of potential marketing issues when deciding on the name. In German-speaking countries a title like that would only envoke "Winnetou and Old Shatterhand" associations and nothing more, as Karl May is a national treasure over here.

I'm hoping for an enigmatic Fleming YOLT/LALD-style phrase-title, personally. I'm a bit tired of the single word S-titles.

No idea what you're on about with the German thing but I can't really see it working either.

If they cast Waltz then we all know Blofeld is back so to then use the name Shatterhand is totally redundant. It would be a bit stupid to have Bond wandering round Japan saying to himself 'Who on earth could this mysterious Dr Guntram Shatterhand be?' and all the audience shout back 'It's Blofeld mate because we've all seen Waltz's name on the poster.'

We don't know if there will be any mystery surrounding "Shatterhand". It could be the name of an operation like Thunderball or a nickname Blofeld already earned somewhere when the movie starts.

You mean like when they called the last film Spectre, and then let Bond wonder through half of it trying to figure out what it was (even though he was told it was called Quantum by Green two films ago and should have realized this was the same operation when he ran into White again), only for its name to be revealed instead as 'Spectre' by Madeleine? I honestly wouldn't put anything past them.

Shatterhand just doesnt have a bond feel to it, it sounds more like a benson book or something. I doubt this will be the title
More like a Gardner book (i.e. Brokenclaw).

    Goldfinger.

For B25, how about a reboot of the Honey Ryder character?

    Daniel Craig is
    Ian Fleming's James Bond 007
    in
    Tanner Than Tanner.
  • Everything or Nothing

(and Craig's Bond dies at the end)

I'd prefer Tanner On Tanner—Tanner's daily affirmations in the mirror and his inner monologue as he follows M wherever he walks and schemes things to snitch on Bond about.

(and Craig's Bond dies at the end)

That's a neat idea. I suppose if the Craig era is it's own self contained story, there's no reason he can't die at the end of it. Every single Craig film had a big character die, Vesper, Mathis, M and Mr White. Maybe Bond 25 has Bond die, or Blofeld? Or both?

Bond will never die in the movies. That would hurt the franchise BIG TIME

But if the rumors are true and EON might be selling the series than maybe it can happen

Also expecting us to be shocked when Oberhauser revealed he was Blofeld.

I mean that most of the German-speaking market associates the name Shatterhand with this fellow:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Shatterhand
and not with Bond. In fact, I'm pretty sure a Bond flick with that title would get laughed at quite a lot over here and do more harm than good.

I also agree with your point about the redundance of having Shatterhand secretly be Blofeld. There would be no surprise factor for the fans and it would be the Oberhauser-Blofeld "twist" vol. 2 for everybody else.

A little history of how Eon managed to finally put to use all of Fleming's novel and short story titles.
Once Eon got the rights to CR they were able to complete the set with first CR and then what seemed to the hardest title to use AQoS.
DN-MR burned thru 11/12 original novel titles
FYEO included elements of both FYEO&Risico
OP included elements of both OP&Property of a Lady
    AVTAK, 5/9 short stories down
    TLD, 6/9 short stories down
LTK, included elements of The Hildebrand Rarity, 7/9 short stories done

Still, CR, AQoS & 007 in New York to go. What to do?hmmm. Nothing for now, for the next 4 films.
Then suddenly, rights aquired for CR! Time to complete the set!

CR made, (12/12 novels done) including element of 007 in New York (Solange name) 8/9 short stories done.
Just one more short story to do.

    Voila

QoS announced. All film and short story titles now used . Set complete.

  • You make good points, @00Ralf, about Shatterhand simply repeating the Oberhauser "twist." So what about—and I'm just throwing things out here—book YOLT put onto film, with Tiger's, Dikko's, and Kissy's names changed, no Bunt, a real dastardly villain who is not Blofeld and just Guntram Shatterhand, and Bond despondent over something other than Tracy/Swann, which they've boxed themselves out of anyway? It's not perfect, but we can't really get a perfect YOLT now anyways. Just make Shatterhand the villain to end all villains (have the guy endorse Tanner for a knightship or something) and give Bond real motivation to strangle him to death with his bare hands.
