I've watched the film so many times, I've come so used to it, I can't imagine the scene without it. When watching the scene without the whistle on youtube, it feels weird.
It's surprising how such a small ammount of editing can have as big (not to mention positive) a change. They just had to go and ruing a good stunt, all for the sake of a cheap gag.
Where do all your random anti-Brozza rants stem from anyway????
The legend that is Sir Christopher Lee liked him ;) If a legend such as him liked Brozza I'm convinced he wasn't all that bad :p

Okay I was born in England and live in NZ and I still don't know what your talking about.
Christopher Lee is a screen legend but as any one who has paid much attention to his public comments over the years will know, he comes out with some pretty random stuff. His judgement is also - putting it mildly - slightly random. As I've stated before, public declarations of support from other actors mean zilch - this is what luvvies do. What people say behind closed doors is another matter.
Ive heard he said the same about Moore and Craig (also people he worked with) but can't find sources for those comments.
This came to mind during the discussion on the Beach Boys PTS in AVTAK (definitely ranked below). Here are the moments that just make me cringe:
1. The Tarzan call in OP
2. Beach Boys' "California Girls" in the PTS of ATVTAK.
3. Sheena Easton's appearance in the FYEO title sequence.
4. The hockey players being thrown in goal by Bond, and the scoreboard tallying each one. (FYEO)
5. Bond trying to find Blofeld in the PTS in DAF: in the first scene, he asks, "Where is he?" The man answering doesn't hardly move his lips, but he yells "Cai...Cai..Cairo!"
6. The stunt double in the sawed-off car in AVTAK.
7. The Close Encounters theme being used as the keypad code in MR.
8. The invisible car in DAD.
9. Cartoonish space/sky background as Blofeld's spaceship returns to the volcano lair in YOLT.
10. The bad lighting and set design in the Afghan jail scene in TLD. (It looks like a set from The Brady Bunch. Just bad, really bad.)
Honorable mention: Mr. Big turns into a balloon in the climactic scene in LALD (it's early 70s special effects, so I should cut them some slack); The elephant playing slots in DAF; Jaws survives a free-fall, landing on a circus tent in the PTS of MR; Bond getting into bed with MayDay in AVTAK; Pepper showing up in TMWTGG.
Previous posts had brought up the tsunami surfing in DAD, and I have to agree: it belongs on the list.
DAD ice surfing silly and should have been toned downed ...Tanya Roberts. Tarzan sound effects... bad effects in TLD pts.. Felix Leiter in LTK.. Tanya Roberts... death of Kananga.. JW Pepper in GG.....and Tanya Roberts.

Yeah, only Sean's Bond could pull that off. However, in the hands of a more capable actress I don't think that moment would be seen as so starkly bad.
ESB Revelation in SPECTREor as that what Mendes wanted it to be instead of it being a urinating by Sam, Logan & P&W on the legacy of Bond with with outright biggest most stupid idea of the entire series.
Connery turning Japanese, the most of DAF, Kananga inflating, the slide whistle in MWTGG, the double taking pigeon and of course the invisible car and CGI tsnami I could go on but all of those can be discounted as just moments that aren't really integral to the legacy of the series but Blohauser has considerabe effect on how people perceive Bond and that has not done it any favours.
Aping the one franchise that Casino Royale did such a great job of blowing away and reinventing the character for the 21st century all in done in the space of one film.
I outright hate it along with ring scanning and the most boring casual car chase in recent memory, the whole film I could happily wipe from the history of the series if I could, but heh! it's just a film isn't it?
More pathetic imho was her sudden affection for President Lopez.

I won't bother with the winking fish because as soon as we have that terrific climax with TD dispatching Sanchez quite brutally we are back in Roger Moore land with the sign off.
One of the wildly most jarring and all over the place films of the series, I personally think QOS captured this idea much better. That being said it's all nothing compared to the crimes of Bond 24.
@bondjames, I suppose we are intended to see Lupe as a "bed hopper" of sorts, a woman who goes where the winds favor her. I guess the failure in that is Lupe's character, which is rather empty and beyond the scene where Bond interrogates her, she has no real impact (and Bond is the one that makes the impact in that moment, not her). She's at times sympathetic, but much like Tiffany Case before her (another bed hopper) she is written completely differently in the second half of the film from the promising first and the empathetic and quiet woman of abuse is just another dimensionless gold digger of sorts by the end.
I personally don't know what Bond saw in her outside of his attraction to damaged and troubled women. Just Pam's legs alone are worth the price of admission. ;)
