    AVTAK is a favorite of mine - it's never made Top 10, but no matter where it's ranked, I love it. I'd say Moore's age stands out and bothers me when a stunt double is being used, as it's made even more obvious with how spry and quick-moving he is, whereas Moore doesn't do much of his own action in this, I believe.

    I like the fact that Roger Moore rocks the part at 57. He's a bad ass pure and simple. I love all 7 of his films.

    Imagine if You Only Live Twice was made as a revenge story similar to that of the novel, but the drama and doubtful Bond, along with the Japan setting altered... Well, not exactly altered, just featured less. The locations would be more European and high-life/exotic/luxurious. I'm talking mansions, castles, etc. By this time, On Her Majesty's Secret Service has happened (either with Connery or someone else, and in case of the latter, Connery comes back for YOLT), and Connery himself remained in perfect shape (and had the same hair as in DN and FRWL) like he was in From Russia With Love.

    This scene would have been the one where Bond was finally given the assignment to go after Ernst Stavro Blofeld... And that malevolent look on his face and the evil smile that briefly appears as he walks out of M's office... This should have happened...

    I'd love to see this. Space rocket theft epics are fun, but a dark OHMSS-style thriller would make my day.

    Here's another crazy fan timeline from my mind... (based on my old "James Bond Alernate Timeline" post)


    "James Bond - The Series"
    In 1981, EON Productions decided to make another attempt at the James Bond saga - a full eight years after Connery's 'never again' statement after finishing the TV movie Octopussy and the Living Daylights. The first spark was a two-hour TV movie, an adaptation of Colonel Sun, Kingsley Amis' continuation novel, starring Timothy Dalton.

    The year after that. Cubby Brocolli and Harry Saltzman announced that James Bond would indeed return - on the television screen. The plan was to adapt John Gardner's novels, with one season the equivalent of one novel. Amis would be on hand to adapt the episode, and Garnder would stay for consulting work (and was given on-screen credit with "based upon the novels by John Gardner and the character by Ian Fleming").

    Dalton would return as Bond, a role he'd play until 1996, whereupon the series was rebooted and Dalton was replaced by Pierce Brosnan the next year. Brosnan played Bond for the remaining six seasons. Broccoli and Saltzman would be the showrunners for most of Dalton's run, until Cubby's protege, Michael G. Wilson succeeded Saltzman after the latter's death in 1994. Cubby would later step down himself at the end of season 14 and his daughter, Barbara, would take the reins.

    Brosnan Era (1997 - 2003)
    Season 15: Zero Minus Ten (Season opener is an adaptation of "Blast from the Past")

    "Young Bond"
    In 2008, to celebrate Ian Fleming's 100th birthday, EON Productions and Ian Fleming Publications made another attempt at reviving the Bond franchise. First came Sebastian Faulks' novel Never Dream of Dying, and a miniseries named "Young Bond", adapting Charlie Higson's novels. Starring Tom Felton as the young 007, the series comprised of three 90-minute episodes and followed the "one season, one novel" rule from the earlier series.

    SilverFin was the first novel to be adapted, followed by Blood Fever, Double or Die, Hurricane Gold, and By Royal Command. The short story "A Hard Man to Kill" was adapted as a 60-minute special. Another adaptation, Steve Cole's Young Bond novel, Shoot to Kill, was released in 2015, adaptations of the following books are currently in the works.

    The Craig-Cumberbatch Era
    Benedict Cumberbatch later starred in a new Bond movie, an adaptation of Devil May Care, in 2012. He played Bond again in the role in a 2015 adaptation of Jeffery Deaver's Carte Blanche. He is set to play the role again in adaptations of Solo and Trigger Mortis.

His last film would be in the late 70s/early 80s

    Timothy Dalton- TLD, LTK, and FYEO with a more memorable villain and the camp bits removed. He'd continue in the role well into the 90s, with a few original storied films before bowing out with an adaptation of Colonel Sun in the late 90s. This storyline acts as a send off for Robert Brown or whoever M no 2 is in this timeline

    Pierce Brosnan- I was working on my plan for the Brosnan era in another thread but essentially there'd be GE but Trevelayn survives. Janus remain an overarching threat in the background for alternate versions of TND and (fewer changes here) TWINE. Finally Janus would come back into play in. a radically different DAD. After finally dealing with Trevelayn Bond is forced to confront his age, and his past in Skyfall. Q won't have featured in DAD out of respect for Desmond and Wishaw is cast in SF. This film is also where he has to face the fact that the world really changed while he was in North Korea. This closes out the Brosnan era

    Daniel Craig- An alternate CR. It's not a reboot or origin story. Picks off where SF left off with the new M. Apart from that it's exactly the same. Then QoS. With a longer runtime to do the various subplots justice, better editing, a theme song that actually has a melody (something to note is that a lot of the theme songs will be different in this timeline) and a more memorable villain. Both CR and QoS have a gunbarrel at the start and MP is featured, played by a new actress. Q is in CR in place of the MI6 doctor, telling Bond about the defib in his car, and appears in QoS to deliver the tech explanation about tracking Slate. Maybe some minor gadgets but these films keep their stripped back nature. Another important thing to note is that in these films, Quantum don't exist. It's SPECTRE from the off, back with a new mysterious leader at the helm (it's kept vague to avoid people pointing out Bond's lack of aging, but Craig's Bond has already dealt with Blofeld and SPECTRE before). After two more films, both original stand alone stories to firmly esablish him as Bond, Craig finally confronts the new Spectre in, well, Spectre. The new leader is Franz Oberhauser, but he's not Blofeld. Blofeld is dead. Oberhauser was involved in organised crime and decided to rebuild the organisation after learning through his sources of Bond's history with them and imagining the potential power and wealth he could amass as the head of a new Spectre. Apart from that SP remains the same and this finishes the Craig era.

    Forgot I wrote this but pretty pleased with it, don't think I'd change anything. I'm not bothered about FYEO in the slightest so maybe swap that out for an original more memorable third Dalton film and maybe finish Dalton's era into the early 90s (he'd have got more films in the 80s in this era anyway) to give Brosnan enough time for his five, but other than that this would be fairly perfect for me. Oh and I'd change the title of QoS to Property Of a Lady. Any thoughts?

    -The Bond 17 treatment but with a less outlandish third act. Nan is a tough bitch, not a cyborg. And save Rodin's stealth car for DAD. Just have him on his motorcycle for this.
    -The PTS involves a fight in the Terracotta Army museum and a motorcycle chase along the Great Wall.
    -Directed by John McTiernan.

    .Death To Spies 1993
    -A grounded spy thriller that is light on action and high on intrigue and suspense. Ends up being Dalton's favorite and critically acclaimed.
    -Directed by John MacKenzie.

    -Keep the deleted Zukovsky scene.

    .Tomorrow Never Dies 1997
    -Keep some deleted scenes.

    -Get rid of "Your mama", the ice dragster/tsunami sequence, and improve the CGI during the finale. And just have one laser during the fight with Kil.

    -Another epic like DAD, but with a darker tone more similar to GE. Similar to the game but less outlandish.
    -The henchman is a sadistic mercenary played by Vinnie Jones. Silent part of course lol.

    .Casino Royale 2006

    .Quantum Of Solace 2008
    -Lengthen White's interrogation.
    -The film ends with Bond killing White and confronting Haines. Before he does this, he downloads the Quantum database from Haines's computer, as he attempts to do in the video game at White's house. The Quantum arc ends here.

    .Risico 2010
    -Based on Blood Stone. Different ending.
    -Largely continues the style of the previous two films but a little lighter. It's basically Craig's TSWLM.

    .Skyfall 2012
    -The gunbarrel opens the film. The same version used in SP. It's silent apart from the Bond Theme cue that plays during the gunshot.
    -Better music during the London scenes.


    2015-2022
    .Soft reboot. New Bond, M, Q, and Moneypenny. No Tanner.
    .A return to standalone, fun films. The overall tone of these films is reminiscent of GF or TSWLM. These are serious times so a little escapism doesn't hurt.
    .Martin Campbell directs a very different Bond 24 in 2015.
    .David Arnold returns.
    .Similar to the Brosnan age but with better scripts and less CGI.

    Thunderball - 1968 (Would've been perfect for Sean's last film, and he actually wanted Thunderball to be his swansong).

    (1969 - 1971) - (George Lazenby) (Only did three films, because Lazenby has stated in interviews that three would be the maximum if he continued).

    You Only Live Twice - 1970
    The Man with the Golden Gun - 1971(Replace Britt Eckland with Sally Ann Howes as Goodnight).

    (1973 - 1979) - (Roger Moore)
    Diamonds Are Forever - 1973 (It depends on the direction you'd take with the film, but for some reason I've always dreamed about Moore being in DAD based on its tone. Would've been a perfect intro for him).
    Live and Let Die - 1975 (Stays the same but with a different death for Kananga closer to the novel. J.W. Pepper gets removed as well).
    The Spy Who Loved Me - 1977
    Moonraker - 1979 (Pretty much stays the same minus the space scenes, Jaws being in love, and more closer to the novel)

    For Your Eyes Only - 1981
    Octopussy - 1983 (Could still use Maude Adams as the film's Bond girl, but I'd replace Kamal Khan with Dexter Smyth as the film's villain)

    The Living Daylights - 1987 (Replace Joe Don Baker with Mitchell Ryan as Brad Whitaker).
    Licence to Kill - 1989
    The Property of a Lady - 1991 (I would combine elements of "Licence Renewed and the TPOAL books).

    (1993 - 2002) - (Pierce Brosnan)
    GoldenEye - 1993
    Die Another Day - 1997 (Replace everything and use elements of the novel "Colonel Sun").
    The World is Not Enough - 1999 (Keep everything mostly the same, but replace Denise Richards with a better 90's actress. Example: Robin Tunney or Milla Jovovich. I would also bring Martin Campbell back to direct which would make the film even better and darker. Also I would change M being kidnapped since it would be a repeat from Die Another Day, but would have M kill Elektra King instead of Bond doing it).
    Everything or Nothing (Made into a movie instead of a video game. Replace Shannon Elizabeth with Rosamund Pike as Serena St. Germaine). - 2002

    (2006 - 2015) - (Daniel Craig)
    Casino Royale - 2006
    Quantum of Solace - 2008 (I would replace the film's environmental plot into about Bond pursuing Mr. White after he escapes. Martin Campell returns to direct).

    This is a Re-edit of my recent timeline. This time with George Lazenby removed, and the amount of Connery's films extended despite his exhaustion and frustration with Bond after Thunderball. Based on the direction of the films however, his feelings could've been different. He's actually went on record that he would've loved to have done O.H.M.S.S.

    (1962 - 1970) - (Sean Connery)
    Dr. No - 1962
    From Russia With Love - 1964
    Goldfinger - 1966
    Thunderball - 1968
    O.H.M.S.S. - 1969 (Don't know if Sean could pull off the emotional scenes, but it would be interesting to see).
    You Only Live Twice - 1970 (Less campy moments and more faithful to the novel).

    (1973 - 1981) - (Roger Moore)
    Diamonds Are Forever - 1973 (It depends on the direction you'd take with the film, but for some reason I've always dreamed about Moore being in DAD based on its tone. Would've been a perfect intro for him).
    Live and Let Die - 1975 (Stays the same but with a different death for Kananga closer to the novel. J.W. Pepper gets removed as well).
    The Man with the Golden Gun - 1976 (No campy moments, closer to the novel. Britt Ekland gets replaced with Sally Ann Howes as Goodnight).
    The Spy Who Loved Me - 1977 (Nothing is changed)
    Moonraker - 1979 (Pretty much stays the same minus the space scenes, Jaws being in love, and more closer to the novel)
    Octopussy - 1981 (Pretty much stays the same, but Kamal Khan gets replaced with Dexter Smyth as the film's main villain. This film would also be Moore's Swansong).

    (1983 - 1993) - (Timothy Dalton)
    For Your Eyes Only - 1983
    A View to a Kill - 1985 (Replace Tanya Roberts with Michelle Pfeiffer).
    The Living Daylights - 1987 (Replace Joe Don Baker with Mitchell Ryan as Brad Whitaker).
    Licence to Kill - 1989
    The Property of a Lady - 1991 (I would combine elements of "Licence Renewed and the TPOAL books).
    GoldenEye - 1993 (Brosnan or Dalton in GoldenEye would be cool either way, but I'm just a little bit more intrigued at the idea of what type of movie this would've been with Dalton).

    (1995 - 2003) - (Pierce Brosnan)
    Tomorrow Never Dies (1995) - (With a better script and Martin Campbell directing, this would be the perfect film for Brosnan's debut).
    Colonel Sun (1997)
    The World is Not Enough - 1999 (Keep everything mostly the same, but replace Denise Richards with a better 90's actress. Example: Robin Tunney or Milla Jovovich. I would also bring Martin Campbell back to direct which would make the film even better and darker. Also I would change M being kidnapped since it would be a repeat from Colonel Sun, but would have M kill Elektra King instead of Bond doing it).
    Everything or Nothing - 2003 (Made into a movie instead of a video game. Replace Shannon Elizabeth with Rosamund Pike as Serena St. Germaine).

    (2006 - 2015) - (Daniel Craig)
    Casino Royale - 2006
    Quantum of Solace - 2008 (I would replace the film's environmental plot into about Bond pursuing Mr. White after he escapes. Martin Campell returns to direct).
    Bloodstone - 2010
    Skyfall - 2012
    Spectre - 2015 (Craig's Swansong)

    Risico - 2019 (Tom Hardy or Michael Fassbender take the reigns)

    I'll leave the films and their release dates as they are (for the most part!), because otherwise it becomes a whole different series and I find that confusing.

    Sean Connery

    1964: Goldfinger
    1965: Thunderball
    1967: On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    1969: You Only Live Twice
    1971: Colonel Sun

    Roger Moore

    1973: Live and Let Die
    1974: The Man with the Golden Gun
    1977: The Spy Who Loved Me

    Timothy Dalton

    1981: For Your Eyes Only
    1983: Octopussy (without the silliness, of course)
    1985/1987: The Living Daylights
    1987/1989: Licence to Kill

    I doubt Dalton would have done more than four films, even if given the chance; he never really wanted to do more than three, I guess.

    Pierce Brosnan's era was such a disaster, overall (excluding GoldenEye), that I wouldn't know what to change without changing everything, including the lead actor.
    It's also too early to look back on Daniel Craig's tenure, so I'll leave it at that.

    But why not make right the book order as On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1967) then You Only Live Twice (1968).

    I considered that but I kinda want the same Bond actor for each of the movies based on the Blofeld trilogy books. I can't imagine TB without Sean. I can't imagine OHMSS without Lazenby.
