You guys wanna talk desperate I am seriously considering getting a ps1 emulator to play tomorrow never dies the world is not enough and 007 racing

Although to be fair we had a good bond game come out recently it’s just fan made and hard to get

    Goldfinger 64

I'm sure bunch of people are replaying the old school 007 games since he have not got a decent Bond Game for a long time.

In my opinion the last good Bond game (if you count the 2011 release as a separate release) is 2011's Goldeneye Reloaded... and while I'm in the minority I don't think Activision was THAT bad if we look at the 5 games (yes I said 5 and I will explain why in a moment) made during their tenure only one was extremely week the rest were actually quite good to dare I say it amazing my ranking of the activision games

    1. Blood Stone: though the story is Incomplete in a werid sort of way I felt more like Bond in "real Life" in this game as I would assume a week as 007 would be taking out shifty guy after shifty guy

    2. Goldeneye Reloaded: A close second the lack of third person cover systems annoys me (much like the producers staying true to OHMSS the producers of this game tried to stay so true to the mechanics of the original game which ok so their is no third person cover system in the original game so what it was a feature of Quantum I truly loved) but the locations are great as are the 2 stealth levels

    3. Quantum of Solace for the 360: honestly I enjoyed the split up nature of the film though I wish the levels were chronological and I wish the car chase and plane chase in Quantum were playable as well as the card game\

    4. Quantum of Solace PS2: Really this is a different game all together 3rd person in the style of From Russia with Love it's a different game and if you never played it pick up a ps2 and a copy of this and realize this gem is amazing. the issues is too few levels and while the Haiti mission is awesome the lack of Venice and I believe the train levels kind of upset me Also NO CARD PLAYING both games have this issue of course but seriously not even a mini game your adapting Casino Royale into a game... I genuinely wonder if EA would of Adapted the Card Game I am assuming sadly no and there would of been a ton of gadgets added in for no reason (see From Russia With Love) but who knows..

    5. 007 legends: poor voice acting and a dodge story make this really an issue the level designs are nice and trust me I am so desperate I would take easily take 007 legends 2 in a heart beat (with levels based on Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, The Man With the Golden Gun, A view to a Kill Tomorrow never dies and Spectre) it's still piss poor...

anyways for the future of gaming I still hope that telltale rumor becomes true at somepoint as the seem to be the only developer interested.

To be honest I felt like Blood Stone was a Splinter Cell Conviction because of the mark and execute.

Having never played Splinter Cell or Call of Duty, I've never had those complaints. I wish I remembered the differences between PS2 and PS3 QoS. I sold my PS2 to get the PS3 and I kind of regret it-wishing I could replay the PS2 Bond games.

@JET007, if you have a fairly strong computer, you can play the GameCube versions of AUF, NF, EON and FRWL on an emulator with enhanced textures and graphics. Trust me you'll enjoy that more. :D

Nothing will beat FRWL, EON, TND and both version (N64/PS1) of TWINE. Crazy to think that Brosnan's Bond has all four of his films represented in game form.

NF beats them all, in my opinion. ;)

Well, both NF (both versions) and AUF.

No love for EON? I haven't played to PC port, so when I think of NF, I think of the console port.

EON is great, definitely. But, it’s too action-heavy. @thelivingroyale summed it up best in one of his earlier posts about the game’s status. Personally, I would’ve preferred it to have more spy elements and stealthy sections than leap into action in every level and shoot many enemies as there can be.

To be fair to the game, it tried to capture the feel of the then current Bond, and the Brosnan era was never about being spy thrillers.

My problem with EON is that it seemed to be trying to capture the feel of DAD specifically, which itself is the black sheep of the Brosnan films because of how sci fi and over the top it is. Plus it feels very video gamey with some of the levels and the way the story progresses, and the story is way too OTT and fan fictiony to have been a film.

In NF though I actually feel like I'm playing through a Bond film, there's lots of variety and the story flows sort of naturally. It's not just shoot loads of people, back to MI6 to be given more people to shoot. Bond actually meets people and finds leads/clues that drive things forward. The story is great, worthy of a film, and is full of memorable characters, lines and moments. And outside of the final level, there's nothing in NF that sticks out as too OTT/sci-fi/video gamey in the same way a lot of EON does. I genuinely think it would have been a better send off for Brosnan than DAD was.

So what is the percentage that E3 will show a bond game this year...

I still hope if Rocksteady is out of Batman they are moving to 007...

I've got no reasons to expect anything, same as last year, that amusing Solstice story aside. The only chance of a Bond game I see is a tie-in with Dan's last in 2019, but I don't think we'd hear about it as early as the next E3, even if that game was a possibility (I don't think we'll get it, nor do I want it).

As for Rocksteady, there's far more reason to assume they're still peddling away at a DC title, even another Batman, than anything outside of that. Or they're doing a fresh IP. But I don't see them getting the Bond license, despite their native British studio a very useful tool if a game of that kind landed in their lap. I'd love to see them get the license, but it just doesn't seem practical.

Solstice was a false rumour. That was the name of the one-shot comic released in November. Someone in the industry must've heard of the title and saw the opportunity to collect views and popularity with clickbait articles.

0, if I had to guess. I wouldn't be all that surprised if Activision poisoned the licence. I want to say Ubisoft, but I would rather they get their arses into gear, and give us another Splinter Cell.

To be honest I think an Arkham style own universe kind of game, or at least an original storied one, is more likely than a Bond 25 tie in. Film tie in video games seem pretty dead at this point. I think people just associate them with being rushed and cheap. I'd prefer an original story anyway, that way it's like a new playable film instead of a butchered version of one I've already seen.

Or as Lego games. They're pretty much the only tie in games these days.

Tie-in games have that reputation because they usually are just that: rushed out and cheap with few exceptions known to us.

If Rocksteady got the license and got put on a tie-in then whoever is in charge of the hiring should be shot by firing squad. I don't think we'll see Bond go back to that route, however, as those controlling the license should now be able to see (thanks to Activision) what happens when you rush a tie-in to correspond with a movie release.

Why can't we just get a Blood Stone styled game that takes what worked and injected more advanced mechanics into it?

Definitely. With the way things are going politically with Eon (believing Bond isn't for kids, so they have to make sure no toys or video games are ever made), we're not going to see a Bond video game anytime soon.

Yeah, I think the best film tie in game, Bond or otherwise, is Goldeneye, and that didn't come out until a couple of years afterwards, which sort of sums the whole situation up really doesn't it. And as good as that game was, I don't see the point in playing the same story after I've seen it at the cinema and watched it on Blu Ray.

I think original stories is definitely better. Video games could be the perfect way to bridge the gap between films if they were well made and released right, just like how Everything Or Nothing made the four year gap a bit more bearable back in the day (I remember Nightfire came out around the same time as DAD so as good as it was, doesn't really count as filling the gap imo, but it was a nice consolation as a fan after how crap the film was).

To keep the franchise alive and well, I think EON should release Bond related material intercaleted with each film. Movie, book, game, and so on.

Indeed. Sorry to hear of his passing. Lewis Gilbert, too. The Flash was a key part of my childhood.
