Well with this Baz tweet? Maybe that has lit the blue touch paper finally in some sort of statement being made sooner rather than later?!!!!!

Highly doubtful. They don't cave to rumors and gossip, and will make an announcement when the time comes.

If it's not Boyle, I believe Daniel won't even make Bond 25. Time is running out, so Baz better be right about this.

I don't know where or what you base these ideas on @Mendes4Lyfe
Anything is possible of course. But Craig will no doubt appear in Bond25.
    Sorry to burst your bubble.

    At least a tagline!

Thats makes sense, a tag line from a quote from the director years before he knew he would direct a Bond movie. It's a great PR hook.

Or the title of the DVD "Making of"

Another quote from Danny Boyle about Fleming:

Had you always been a big reader as a kid?
Always. I read every single one of Franklin W. Dixon's Hardy Boys mysteries. I made a natural progression to the Bond books, which I read multiple times. They were so cool. Ian Fleming was an amazing writer. Bond lived in a godless world and the books dissolved everything i was meant to respect - it was just sex, pleasure and guns.

I am still not conviced that he has the job, and i am not saying that he would be the perfect choice... BUT i rather have someone who loves and understands the source material, than having an outsider who knows nothing about it.

'a godless world....just sex, pleasure and guns.'

Sounds pretty near perfect to me.

Yep; and I fear even with Boyle's fundamental understanding of the character and the world in which he inhabits, we're going to get a neutered version of that vision to avoid "causing offence"; which has already been in play for some time now.

DVD Making Of? Surely you mean bite size snippets that were already released on the internet during filming. ;)

If this Boyle story turns out to be true - and I'm still holding out for something official from Eon - I wonder how much involvement he will have with the Script. He is a Fleming fan who probably knows the books by heart and he is an Oscar nominated screenwriter (127 hours).
My guess is that he will be very involved and work closely with Hodge on it.

Can anyone name the Actor and Actress which links Boyle to Bond?
Robert Carlyle (Begby Trainspotting, T2) Renard, The World Is Not Enough). And Naomie Harris 28 days later (

And if Boyle does get it, this is who I hope plays the villain
cillian murphy who Boyle worked with on 28 days later

Not sure if Murphy has the gravitas to go head to head with Bond. Always comes over as a bit of a lightweight IMHO

I disagree, the guy has menace and I enjoyed that part of as Scarecrow in the Dark Knight Trilogy and as the Villain in Red Eye. He Outstanding as Shelby in peaky Blinders.

With Boyle as director they can get pretty much anybody in the villain role, and they will certainly go for a big A-lister, who either has an Oscar to his name or a nomination, like in the last two movies.

Would agree, he has worked with a lot of them, and many will see this as their in.

Which will only make sense if the material is actually good. Waltz was shamefully forgettable and poor as Blofeld.

Agreed. Everything will come down to the script, and then the direction. I hope they know what they're doing this time.

Exactly. I'm fully hoping EoN to be on top of this like it's a do or die situation.

    Interesting fact:

Danny Boyle worked with David Arnold in A Life Less Ordinary (1997) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119535/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt :)

I would have agreed with you pre Peaky Blinders but he's really great in that show. There's something Connery esque about him there.

If we're looking at actors Boyle has worked with before though I really want Christopher Eccleston to do it. He's worked well with Craig before, I think he could play a vicious psychotic bad guy brilliantly and such an unashamedly working class actor could make a great foil to Bond's snobbery, it'd be something very different.

He's said in interviews that he's a fan as well, I remember when he was doing interviews about Doctor Who returning he couldn't say he was a fan himself, but he said he understood why the fans were so protective of it because he was the same with James Bond.

I had no idea! Interesting. I was just made aware of the Craig connection the other day, as well.

He was also Boyle's music director for the London 2012 opening ceremony. If the job is Boyle's, then I really wouldn't be surprised if Arnold comes back.

Again what I want and I know I am in the minority

A fitting conclusion to the Craig era but of course what does this mean
    1. The end of Spectre Blofield and all the plot points left unresolved from 2006-now. Look I get it Blofield is iconic fine give him an iconic death at the end of Bond 25 personally the end of the character in You Only Live Twice (novel) would be quite cool
    2. A rock and roll theme (sorry but in my opinion You Know My Name and Another day to die were the best title songs since Aha The living Daylights though Goldeneye is ok) give Craig another one of those for his finale
    3. Give us a great score (again Casino and Quantum were light years ahead of everything since the living daylights)

I get all of that Uwe Bowll can direct for all I care

    100% agreed.

Also get rid of the Scooby gang and just keep Fiennes as M. Moneypenny and Tanner had minor roles in the novels and Q only showed up once anyway.

Keep wishaw and fiennes, wishaw being the priority.

I still don’t like Wishaw as Q, even after forcing myself through SF and SP many times. He always comes off as that particular nerd (especially in SF) template I’ve always hated about pompous and arrogant computer hackers in films.

Naomie Harris, sadly, is wrong for Moneypenny. Heck, I could’ve taken her as a female Robinson type who’d be more combatantly involved. Sadly, she couldn’t pull off Moneypenny. Not that the writers are helping her in keeping the characterization intact anyway. So, I wouldn’t fault her in that department.

Fiennes needs to tone his temper down and be more intimidating in a cold way as Bernard Lee was. I like him as M at the very end of SF and I hope he becomes a more traditional one as well as having a special working relationship and increased mutual trust with Bond.

Wishaw as q is like dench as m. Agree with your point on Firennes, I didn't like either finnes or harris in sp. Q's scenes in spectre were an excellent set up for the kind of relationship between q and bond established in Goldfinger, which is what I hope we get in the future.
