Really? Wow, that's strange. Now you've got me searching my brain for any instance of rain prior to Casino Royale!
I think, I might be wrong, that in OHMSS we can see the rain through the window. I don't remember in which scene, I'm not even sure that I'm right...

and no oddly enough, can't recall Bond in the rain at anytime during the last twenty-two outings, strange if you really think about it. It was raining with effect at the beginning of Royale when Obanno meets LeChiffre, but of course, no sign of Bond. It must have happened at some stage in the series but I really can't recall any such happening. Die Another Day may have been a shower of S--- , but I don't think we can really include that in it!

How about London in QoS?

There was a big thing made at the time of how CR featured the first time it had rained in a Bond film.

The scene with Obanno and Le Chiffre springs to mind but isnt it also raining during the montage of Bond and Vespers romance when they come into the hospital room and fall off the bed?
I think this scene is the only time we have seen Bond get wet in the rain. In QOS its raining in London but do we see Bond outside? Can someone sadder than me remember if his coat is wet in the Mitchells flat scene?

Hes actually been snowed on more often OHMSS (blizzard near the barn) and QOS (final scene). Theres not many people who can say that.

I think we have hit a new low here in discussing Bondian minutae.

Isn't it raining in OHMSS, when Bond and Tracy are In Draco's car in Berne?

Yes. Skyfall will be the fourth Bond film which features rain. And it'll be three of three for Craig.

I love rain in general, and now seeing it more often in Bond films is great! Luke Bryan says it best:

I think youre right - in the scene in Ms office after Tracy is caught in the avalanche there is rain on the windows I think. But crucially Bond does not actually get rained on. So still only DC who gets wet.

lol I didn't think my question about the rain would be such a hot topic. I don't remember any rain in QoS and, now that someone mentioned it, I do remember it raining on Bond and Vesper in CR; I don't recall any rain in OHMSS.
I'm, oddly enough, glad to hear that rain will be in Skyfall. I would love to see Bond in a car chase in the rain.

Even though there is already an older thread covering this, I'll let this one live since it's growing and alive (merging them wouldn't be optimal either).

Many have said it before, Bond should go down under. Scandinavia would be appreciated too.

OHMSS - it rains when Bond, Tracy & Draco pull up outside Gumbold's office. Possibly when Bond looks out of window in M's office but I seem to recall snow for some reason.
CR - it rains when Bond is at rehab after his b*llocks bashing. I think the African scene where Le Chiffre collects the cases of cash is very wet if not raining.
QOS - it rains when Bond travels to meet M at Mitchell's apartment.
SF - it rains at least once - when M gets out of her car at night.

raincheck over...

And at the start when Le Chiffre, Obanno, and Mr. White meet up.

@DiscoVolante I've noticed half a dozen duplicate threads the last night or two but kept quiet about it. It's up to our designated replicate thread sniffer to smoke out these kind of things

Bond already has been down under, a number of times in fact, Oh you mean an antipodean adventure. Well we've said that before and I include New Zealand and Tasmania in that. It also would be great to see Bond in Norway and an action scene with the Aurora Borealis in the background, or in Sweden and Bond has a tussle in a Sauna, a la Maximum Risk or something. Those could be areas to explore

PS I don't remember it raining On Bond himself during Royale, unless people are talking about the shower scene with Green, but I don't think we can really include that

No, it does. When him and Vesper run into the room, and tear up a hospital during their love making.

By all means dig in if can @Baltimore_007! Any help I can get is greatly appreciated.

Don't trust me that much, I'm not that good. :)

With all due respect, I'm doing better at this than yourself, I mean I've already (unintentionally) found about another three examples in one hour this night, but didn't say anything, have a look around next time you're on

Now that it's been mentioned I do vaguely recall Bond and Vesper getting slightly wet outdoors in Royale when they arrive near Venice, but had to think hard about it, it couldn't have been a long sequence or easily missed even

While on this rain business, anyone who ever saw Fincher's Se7en will recall for a majority of the movie it was raining, and not only that, but a dark and brooding environment. I would of liked to have seen that duration in Skyfall, and Daniel Craig could be the appropriate Bond for it, It was merely something I maybe would of liked to have seen. And at the end, why not have Moneypenny or M's head delivered in a box like in the actual movie, and Bond has the perpetrator or main adversary at gun point and struggles what to do and the consequences like with Mills, and we wait to see what happens.. I'm being quite serious, I think that would of been interesting

If you think you're doing better than me, that's fine, keep at it! Post the links and get the duplicate locked. I'm in no way perfection.

I was never given the role of "official thread searcher", I just try to help out when I can to the best of my ability. Don't go on the attack, I really don't feel as if I have done anything wrong.

No, you certainly haven't, don't take it the wrong way or anything

I merely found just recently I had a sort of 'duplicate thread' mania but I think it's died down now, I just notice these things sometimes, no harm done

Just getting back on topic, and 'countries for Bond movies' and all, I know we saw it in Spy, but I would like to see Bond back in Egypt again, or if not that, what about the Republic Of Ireland, some spectacular scenery there for anyone who's been. I don't think they ever went to Belgium, went there years ago and there's some lovely little towns about and historic places

I'd love Ireland and Egypt was done well in TSWLM but I could be done well again - maybe this time a chase up the Sphynx or a fight in a crumbling archeological dig and someone trying to put Bond in a mummy's coffin ... or not. :) But spectacular scenery for sure.
• Bond needs to go to Chicago! He's been to several other major US Cities already: New York, Miami, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, hell even Palm Springs CA! Its about time he makes it to the Windy City.
Plus it dawned on me, Miami must be the most visited city (outside of course London) in a Bond Movie:GF, LTK, and CR. Bond's only been in New York once, LA twice, Berlin once, etc.

Venice thrice - FRWL, MR, CR.

And does Bond actually go to Miami in LTK? As I recall its all in the Keys. Sharkey even says just before they enter the warehouse 'This is the last place in the Keys. We'll have to try Miami next.'

Again??? Maybe this time he should take it a step further and go to mars ;)

Like I said before, Ireland and Australia would be good places for bond to travel to.

And Brazil or South Africa would be great.

Why not? The villian has travelled to Mars and has installed a laser that he will shoot earth with.

Bond needs to come down South sometime! He's been to Kentucky I realize that, but that's only scratching the surface of what's to offer down here!

That should be Craig´s MR. His forth movie should be like that, just as MR and DAD were for Roger and Pierce (also their fourt film).

When was Bond in Palm Springs?

Bond was only in Miami twice. The Florida Keys aren't exactly off the Miami coast. Now, we did see the Miami coastline in TB, but Bond did not step foot in Miami, so it only stands at two for Miami.

I think it's time a woman helmed a Bond film - I am open to Michael and Babs calling me. Although they just might go to Kathryn Bigelow first since she has that little gold statue. And some talent, I'll give her that. ;)

Location - what about Paris? It would be so beautiful - is it just too expensive to film there, do you think?

Yes. It would be nice to see 007 in the capital of love ;)
I want also to see Craig/Bond in South Africa.

Agreed, but I don't think we'd see Bond in a big city-capitol for B24 after all the coverage London is getting this time. Possibly down the road.
