My name is James... No seriously, my is James.
I became more of a fan of Bond after riding a sort of virtual reality ride at Paramount Canada's Wonderland. It was based between the time of Tomorrow Never dies [or just before it] and The World is not Enough. Dench starred in it. During the ride (or for most of it) you had Bond's point of view, comparable to Goldeneye for N64. After that I was hooked.
Then I sort of stumbled on a real find... I Found most of the Fleming originals for Bond, excluding For your eyes Only, and The Man with the Golden Gun. I purchased the books for a Quarter each... I believe it was 2 Dollars for all of them. Following the ride the Goldeneye videogame of course became a natural obsession (although, I now prefer the Bloodstone format, I find it easier to manuever in the environment).
So in closing I've been a Bond fan ever since.
As far as my favourite actor to portray Bond, I choose Dalton, but I like all the different Bonds in one way or another, and I feel that's what Makes the Bond Legacy so great: The fact that there were so many different actors allowing everyone to have their own preference. For that reason I don't think any actor should play Bond more than 3 times, thereby, keeping the franchise fresh.

Hello. I come from Sweden. I 've been a Bond fan since 1999, when a friend of mine purchased Goldeneye N64. The same day I went to my grandmother and she had Goldeneye on VHS. I thought GE was the best film ever and watchted the action scenes over and over again. Then I found a Swedish Bond forum in 2003, which I used for reading reviews and in the forum. I joined the forum myself in the summer of 2007, under the moniker OHMSS (already used on this forum, hence the name Crab_Of_Doom).

I eventually bought all the Bond films. By early 2004 I had watched the first 20 Bond films. Been a fan ever since 1999.

Hello. I'm 19 years-old and have only been a "real" Bond fan since Casino Royale. I say "real" because before then I casually played some of the videogames (Goldeneye and Nightfire mostly). Since then, I've purchased all the movies along with a few of the newer videogames. I'd consider myself a casual collector (posters, t-shirts, and a hat). I'm really new to this forum but I'm excited to meet some other Bond fans! :)

Welcome @007_Matt! You should add Fleming's novels to your collection if you can as well. Apart from that you seem like quite the fan!

    Enjoy the forums.

Hello, watch the Moore movies and you will realise who is the god of Bond actors.

@007RogerMoore, I've seen the first 3 Moore movies but haven't gotten around to watching the rest. I actually just watched TSWLM last week. Which of them are your favorites?

TMWTGG is my favorite movie of all time. After I really like TSWLM, MR and AVTAK. Then come the other three, LALD, FYEO and OP. Those last three are really good too.
His era was fantastic, the golden era for Bond. Brosnan´s films are the silver era.
They might feel very different if you are used to Craig, vice versa for me.
What did you think about them?

I do love the older Bond movies. Although CR was the one that drew me in, I bought the box set because I have a great appreciation for the older ones as well. I "technically" grew up with Brosnan; yet I prefer Craig. I think I'm more used to the "realistic" Bond movies so for me to go back and watch Moore's films it feels very campy. That's not to say I don't enjoy them, I do, it was just another type of film that lured me into the franchise.

I perfectly see what you are coming from. I was brough in by GE, followed by TND and TWINE. I had such high expectations for the old ones (I was 8) since most people said they were better. When I saw FRWL, TB, LALD, MR, OP and TLD I was like blahhh! I though the would be as tough and gritty as GE. Then seeing MR was terrible, not to mention the what I though at the time "no action movie FRWL". But one gets used to them eventually, and might change opinions.

MR is very campy, but FYEO is perhaps the Moore movie you will like the most. It´s much more serious and down to earth. OP is similar but with more comedic moments.
AVTAK is more violent and serious but at the same time unrealistic and, according to some people, campy.

I'm getting used to them as I go; that's for sure. I think once I've seen them all a few times I'll be able to form a better opinion. As of now, CR is my favorite of my lifetime (GE to QoS). However, I do love a lot of the classics. I really enjoyed GF and FRWL.

I am one of the few here who prefers the campy movies. Perhaps you prefer the more serious movies like FRWL and CR, they are immensely popular here. I think you may like TB, OHMSS, FYEO, TLD and LTK apart from the Brosnan and Craig movies.
What do you think about TND, TWINE and DAD?

I haven't seen TND, TWINE, and DAD in awhile. I'll have to revisit them and get back to you on that. However, I do love TB and OHMSS. I haven't gotten to FYEO, TLD, or LTK yet. Although I hear a lot of people talking up Dalton.

Dalton is not my favorite, and is not very popular in the masses. Among Bond fans, however, he is very popular. In a CBn poll, he is third, not far from Moore, who is second. Craig and Brosnan are almost equal and are quite a bit after Dalton.
Lazenby is last as usual. Sean Connery always wins these polls, same in that one.

You have som great time in front of you, watching many Bond films for the first time!

I agree. I'm also really looking forward to getting into the Fleming novels! Well, I'm off to eat breakfast now but it was great talking to you. Thanks for properly introducing me into the Bond community!

Don´t mention it. Just fun to talk to Bond fans. And BTW, I haven´t read any novels either (few here haven´t).
  • Hi there. I'm just another one of the endless amount of Bond fans on here. I choose my witticisms carefully because they may be my last. (Goldfinger reference anyone?)

Can not believe I never posted on this discussion.
Been on here a while now and can not get enough of my daily visit to the site.
Huge Bond fan, probably the biggest on the Isle of Wight.
Huge Swansea city fc fan and have enjoyed turning my spare room into my Bond museum (as people call it).
It's good to talk to other people with the same interests :-c

    Hello, everyone.

I've been lurking around for a few weeks and figured I might as well joined. I didn't discover Bond until last year and only because of Pierce Brosnan. I love him as an actor, and thought it'd be nice to see his Bond films. Of course, I figured if I was going to see his Bond films, I might as well see all of them. I was really surprised at how much I liked Sean Connery. I wasn't expecting that since I'm generally lukewarm to his movies. Anyway, I watched all the movies and really liked them.

This year, to commerate the 50th anniversary, I decided to watch all the movies again throughout the year--up until Skyfall's premiere. My plan is to do 2, sometimes 3, movies a month. I just watched LALD, and plan to watch the next Moore film next week. I'm really enjoying watching the films again. They are great for repeat viewing.

Hi! I'm Snow and I'm from the USA. I always wanted to live in the UK though ;;). My favorite Bond is the most awesome Daniel Craig. I love the rugged, yet stylish Bond. Any actor who wants to do his own daredevil stunts is awesome! =D>
I am so looking forward to seeing Skyfall! Hope everyone has an awesome day! @};-
