FRWL IS classic, CR is not. Hitchcock's films are equally as classic and entertaining by the way. If you want a spy like entertainment, how about North By Northwest, which even FRWL itself is guilty of homaging.
That doesn't change my opinions at all. QoS got ransacked by a lot critically, especially Bond fans, so the common opinion swept through and Twilight took in more $$$. It doesn't make it the lesser film by any standard. Plus, Skyfall has the big 50 on its side, as well as a damn perfect cast and crew of colossal proportions.
Sorry about the language. It will not happen again, really sorry.
Art of comprimis? Sounds interesting
Lonely saturday nights? Not a problem ( if you know what i mean) just kidding. I have a girlfriend and she loves Twilight. I never say these thing in front of her. If she only knew. I was just letting it out. Sorry
I think Skyfall will do fine, even against Twilight
Quite the optimist! I love explanations that begin and end with period.

I can't think of anything that would make SF a flop or not surpass CR in profits.
Care to explain why? You can't ever be sure of these things.
Some here will probably be very happy if we get a 'good' Bond outing, but those who are expecting a 'perfect outing' will be disappointed even if the film is just 'good'.
Those who over-hype the film have a 50% chance of loving the film and a 50% chance of hating the film. Those who who have lower expectations will see their chances of being happy with the film increase. The more you hype, the more chances you have of being disappointed.
I pointed this out on the news tidbits thread after somebody posted an article with reasons saying "why SF could be the best Bond film ever". It's almost impossible to live up to this level of hype, I'll be happy if it's good but there are some people who are so certain it'll be perfect, they could be let down. The new Batman film has the same problem and Prometheus had that problem.
The same applies to Bond23, if the movie is any good people will go and see it. If it is such a mess as QoS, which seems hardly possible, people will stay away. It all comes down to we shall see.
It would surprise me if it flopped because the brand of 007 does a lot of BO business.
So when do we get the figures from Friday?
Source: http://boxofficebenful.blogspot.it
Opening Box Office for Skyfall:
6.3m GBP confirmed for Friday Oct. 26th,
+ 7.2m GBP for Saturday Oct. 27th
for a total of 13.5m GBP in two days.
20 million pounds. Not bad, not bad at all. For a physical wreck! ;)
Can't wait to see the international results later.

@Gustav - thanks for providing the numbers, but I meant the opening numbers and Sam, I am not sure, they wold have smashed the other films, too, because the reference was going to the Bond films only.
But is it really gonna take £10m in one day (ie today)?
There's nothing that tops that. Batman doesn't come close plus this was a May film.
