Two more honorable mentions are The Great Mouse Detective and Atlantis The Lost Empire. I'm so surprised how little TGMD gets talked about! It's so likable! Can't go wrong with Vincent Price as a villain.

Agreed on Up, wonderful film, but no Toy Story?
I’ve only seen The Incredibles once and to be honest found it a bit boring.
Not for me. I always thought that The Lion King was essentially a remake of Bambi, only with lions instead of deer. I just like Bambi a whole lot better. My favourite Disney animated movie has been for over 50 years, and is likely to remain, The Jungle Book. It is also the movie (of all) that I saw the most times in a cinema, beating The Rocky Horror Picture Show in that regard. Aladdin may be No. 2, then Bambi which I'm surprised not to find anywhere on your list. Also Mulan is somewhere in the top tier. As well as The Sword in the Stone and Aristocats, by the way. None of this takes anything away from those I didn't mention (there is no Disney animated film I don't like at all, not saying I know those straight-to-video sequels)...but The Lion King appears in fact "overrated" to me.

It has some good characters and set pieces and it has a really well staged finale inside Big Ben clock! Under-rated.
Favourite Disney film for me is still The Jungle Book. Marvellous entertainment! My least favourite is....Frozen!!...bores the hell out of me!
As The Lion King was probably my most watched film as a child to the point where (like GoldenEye) I could recite the dialogue off by heart, I consider anyone who believes it’s overrated an utter and complete monster ;)
You need to make a stronger case for why Lion King is overrated than it simply being similar plot wise to Bambi. By that logic many considered classics in movie history are "overrated". Improvements on consisting story lines and scripts are attempted all the time in the movie industry. Not least in James Bond... Is Spy Who Loved Me just a cheap rehash of YOLT?

Too early for Incredibles 2 to be added yet. Inside Out was nothing like it was advertised, and it kind of made the movie a bit of a downer for me. The bottom three films are the Cars Trilogy. With John Lasseter out now, hopefully this means no more, for real.

I'd go along with that! Agree also about Inside Out...didn't like it at all! The Cars trilogy are indeed the weakest Pixar movies!
As for my controversial non 007 movie opinion-I grew up watching gangster movies. Now, I love, love, love The Godfather Trilogy but I hate when people say that it's a gangster movie (I hate even more when people say it's the greatest gangster movie of all time) because in my opinion, The Godfather is about so much more than organized crime. To me, The Godfather is about family, the very serious dynamics about what it means to belong to family in terms of both loyalty and betrayal. It just so happens that in The Godfather, the business the Corleone Family deals in is organized crime. In my opinion, Goodfellas is and always will be the quintessential gangster movie.
I liked 1 and 3. My kids were watching the second one over the weekend and I found it bizzare. Cars 3 is probably my favorite but probably due to it being force fed to me over the past few months.
I haven't seen the film in at least 20 years and I have it playing in the background now. I don't believe I ever saw the 1997 revised version. Apparently this one is even more different.
Controversial opinion 1:
I think this 2004 DVD actually looks pretty good. I also think Jabba the Hut looks more or less the same as I remember him looking back in the summer of '83. Of course I could be wrong not being as well versed in this franchise as I am Bond. Don't really know what the differences are. I imagine if I were watching TSWLM with a bunch of added effects I might be pi$$ed.

The original 1977 film is still my favorite (because of Peter Cushing). This one is a close second, though.
You're welcome. I'm always curious what other's opinions are, in terms of James Bond and other areas. As for what you said about gangster movies, I agree 100%. The Godfather is about more than gangsters. Between the two, they are the quintessential gangster movies, arguably ever made.
P.S. Have you ever read the Godfather Novel? It's just as great as the movie. I also recommend the prequel novel The Family Corleone. It's based off The Godfather Part 4's original script by Mario Puzo.
I read MOST of the original novel and I loved it. I know it's a bit cliche to say this, so I don't always say it but it was much better than the film. I think I had to stop like a few chapters short of the last one because of library due dates and I think someone else had it like reserved before I returned it or something like that and I never got around to getting it out again. I wasn't interested in any of the subsequent novels by Winnegartner (I think his name was) but The Family Corleone did catch my eye.
Return of the Jedi > Star Wars (A New Hope)
The Last Jedi > The Force Awakens
Return is my second favorite right after Empire. The original takes third. Then ROTS, TLJ, TFA, AOTC, and TPM in that order for me.
As for Star Wars, I'll admit that I did like A New Hope and thought The Empire Strikes Back was pretty decent. The others, not so much.
Godfather is my favorite film of all time, but I'll be if Goodfellas isn't also just a masterpiece. It stunned me when I first saw it and its power has never diminished. I've said for a long time that this is a more frightening film experience than the countless horror and thriller films that litter the cinemas almost each weekend.
I have to say something very strange happened the first time I watched Goodfellas and it's something that happens with me whenever I see a film that I find truly amazing and it's something I can't quite explain. For whatever reason the very first time I watched Goodfellas, for whatever reason, it was just meh to me. It wasn't until after very many years of rewatching it that over time it eclipsed the Godfather for me and became like the one true mob movie in my opinion. The same thing happened to me for the Dark Knight, which is one of my favorite movies ever, for whatever reason the first time I watched it I was like, eh, it's pretty good and then after rewatching it time and time again I was like wow okay, this movie is a masterpiece.
Considering how comic book movies tend to fare as serious films, I'd say it's a masterpiece. I mean I agree, it's not Casablanca or Gone with the Wind or Lawrence of Arabia but it'll do.
