Ah, that's true. But don't spoil it; we'd have nothing to give out about then. Other than Dan not looking like Bond when he's very clearly not playing Bond. And other stuff.

A "completed" script = a script all the major decision makers are happy with and is changed only when they come up with a better idea during filming.
  • I don’t know, I’m ready for a bit of a change. I wouldn’t mind a DAF type out of shape Bond. Something different and unexpected, especially for Craig’s Bond.

If Craig in Bond 25 look anything like DAF Connery, I'll have a genuine laugh out loud moment! :D
And Connery still looks more Bondian in that pic than Craig at his best. Just a testament to Connery being the real deal. Everyone else is an imitator. Only Moore can give Connery any serious competition when it comes to the ideal cinematic Bond.

Moore is my favourite actually, and a big part of that is that he didn't try to copy Connery – he just went ahead and did it differently.

For me it’s really a toss-up between Connery and Moore. I guess it all depends on my mood. Though I’ll say that Connery in GF is the ultimate representation of 007, especially in that white dinner jacket. Will never be topped!

Though I have grown to appreciate Lazenby over the years. He might not have been a actor at the time, but he had all the qualities he needed for Bond.

Wouldn't argue with Connery being the ultimate representation of 007 in GF, but instead of the white dinner jacket, it's the navy blue suit he wears when he gets the Aston Martin that makes it the ultimate representation for me. Moore of course had the 70's fashion to "struggle" with.

Makes me wonder how the tight-fitting suits of the Craig era will be looked upon in the future.

Connery was not in top shape for DaF but a better fitting hairpiece and a bit of eyebrow taming would have helped his appearance tremendously.

I love that blue suit too.

When I think of the ultimate cinematic representation of Bond, it's Connery in FRWL, and particularly that grey number he wears on the Orient Express. It's amazing to me how it just looks so right on him. Casual yet formal.

That's a good one too. Like with GF, FRWL is a study in Bond style.

That reminds me: has there been any news about costume designers for Bond 25?

Not yet. The only news I am aware of is that Temime is out. While I was initially quite pleased to learn that, perhaps my joy is premature, because apparently Craig likes the tight look.

I'm not altogether worried though, because I think Fukunaga has some style, and he'll make sure folks look the part in his Bond film.

For me, Connery’s quintessential look as Bond is in GF when he exists GF’s Jet, when he helps lower the stairs and later offers Pussy a hand . If there is one moment that defines his look, it’s this one.

I'm surprised people haven't mentioned the Anthony Sinclair three-piece glen check from GF. He looked excellent in that too.

Connery was great for sure and looked the part. But he couldn't handle the emotional scenes in Casino Royale or Skyfall as well as Craig. In short Craig in my opinion is a better actor overall. Dalton next best in the acting stakes.

I'm not sure of that. Connery had a lot of emotional range in some of his films outside the series. I secretly wish I could have seen Connery in OHMSS, especially in that final scene. I'm sure he would have rocked.

Thanks! Will be interesting to see who it'll be. But I guess if Craig prefers the slimmer look – or cut, if you like – then it will probably be suits in the same style we've seen in the latest films. It looks a bit wrong to me, with Craig being a bit bulky. A tight suit would probably have suited an actor of a GE Brosnan build more, IMO.

EDIT: he also has knobby- knees. He was flat foot. Which means his hips and glutes were not supporting his movements... which then means... as a lover... he didn't have good thrusts (I joke not)...

Gonna be honest I just re-watched Craig’s Bond films and I still rank Skyfall last. Long post but worth it!

    1) CR
    2) SP
    3) QOS
    4) SF

Nothing tops Casino Royale and I doubt Craig’s last film will be better. Besides CR, I love GF and TB.

Unfortunately with Skyfall there’s too much backstory. It didn’t feel like a Bond film. Too campy and too much humor. I still say to this day it only did super well because of Adele. Adele has fallen off but damn from 2009-2012 Adele was probably the most popular artist. I actually remember turning on the radio to two pop stations, a rap station and then an alternative and they all played “Skyfall”, a rap station?!

It was just that good! I’m not saying Skyfall was a bad film, I think the flow of the film was great and the overall story was easy to follow if you have never seen a Bond film.

I saw a movie review of Spectre and this idiot literally said “So a ring connects all the previous Bond villains? That’s so dumb and unlike the originals!”

Really..? I think we have to understand though this newer generation doesn’t understand James Bond or the “Bond formula”, SP was the first Bond film I saw in theaters and I even saw the Mission impossible film that same year. I preferred Spectre.

Now here’s a list of the good and the bad for Spectre and what bond 25 needs.

    Good

    The classic feel
    Blofelds lair
    Humor was perfect
Bond escaping Blofelds lair (Never seen him shoot and kill that many guys we need more of that)
    The music
Outfits (I love seeing Bond out of a suit/tux) refreshing
Possibly the greatest Bond opening scene ever. Very well choreographed!

    Bad

    Character development sucked
Bad plot no sense of danger or end of the world type feel.
Car chase was WEAK, why didn’t the entire Spectre organization go after Bond? You crash a terrorist meeting and only one guy follows you..?
The lair escape was more climatic then the helicopter shot.
CR/QOS Bond would’ve taken out Hinx much sooner.

Jusr some basics but we need a good solid story flow. Not just an action cash grab, it needs to feel like a Bond film. Music is HIGHLY important, we need a nuclear bomb or some kind of an end of the world type plot. Maybe Bond falls into a pit of sharks again? I mean just something exciting. The shark scene in Thunderball is one of my favorite Bond scenes. I have always been terrified of sharks.

Can you imagine a villain leaving Craig’s Bond to die in a shark tank or something similar?

Love Skyfall just like I did when I saw it in the theatre. So shoot me. Take the bloody shot already. ;)

Only 3 things I did not like, and two were minor: Bond's hair cut too short and suits too tight. And the score (more than a minor fault for me).

We used to have a thread on Bond's clothes, or was it clothes in general? What was it called? I'd like to resurrect it. @DarthDimi @NicNac @Benny

Well with Dalton it’s a mixed bag for me his two films are near perfect but let’s look at the Craig era (or at least how I view it)

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are top notch but Skyfall and Spectre are meh to worse true he could pull it out with Bond 25

But the same thing nearly happened with Dalton

I’m sorry but The Property of a Lady would of been abysmal Bond fighting a Sex-bot is all I need to know about the film to know it would of jumped the shark in a way that made Die another Day and Moonraker feel flemingesque

It wasn't called The Property of A Lady. That's just a public rumour.
