I’ve just decided that I will completely avoid all Bond related sites until the 1st of March. I want the press conference to surprise me! So I’ll be back in exactly 22 days.

Either I’ll be back happier and more excited than ever before OR I’ll be back just to announce my retirement from mi6commumity (if the title is Shatterhand or if Waltz is back) OR I’ll be back to throw the biggest temper tantrum this forum has EVER seen (if there is no press conference on the 1st of March the latest).

Either way, see you in 22 days. Enjoy the next 3 weeks!

    Temper tantrum. Odds on.

I've said it before: I love you lot, but this is the scoldiest page on the internet. Someone's always righteously indignant about everyone else and putting the stick about because of it. Whenever life's feeling a bit to easy, I make sure to check in for my fair share of abuse.

It’s odd how some of the louder voices drown out the important voices. Massive thanks to all those share their tidbits with us and slainte to all those on here enjoying the ride!

I'd be elated if Trent Reznor and Atticuss Ross were chosen. We're overdue for another great experimental score like GE *hides from the Serra haters*

I'm not opposed to that choice, actually.

I'm personally cool with you. I just think that you should remember to treat people with respect and not build campaigns attempting to embarrass and humiliate people. You have a lot of respect from mi6community members due to your professional ties and they will often take your side regardless. You shouldn't wield that power to belittle people.

Also, Justin Kroll (he broke the Boyle and MAlek news) tweeted this:

Could be almost anything still. Hoping for Bond, but I won’t hold my breath on it.
He just dropped some news regarding Christopher McQuarrie but I have asked him whether this is the "really cool news" he was talking about. If not, I just hope it's not Waltz' return.
I don’t think there is a single person on the planet who would consider the return of Waltz cool.

    I would be happy.

It would show a considerable amount of balls to do it but I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Disney took a punt on Daft Punk with Tron Legacy, Geoff Barrow is showing form with scoring Free Fire for Ben Wheatley.

Always said that Portishead were one of those bands that should but will never do a Bond film theme.

There is an act that totally get Barry but don't get all pastiche on it.

I’d certainly have mixed feelings if Waltz was announced to return. It’s no secret his Blofeld in SP is disappointing, but under a new director/script/circumstances, who knows?

I have nothing against Waltz as an actor, I just think if he does come back it's a missed opportunity to have a more original, classic villain. Silva was one of the best things about Skyfall and for Craig's run to end with Waltz' Blofeld would be a waste in my opinion.

The only good thing about Blofeld's return is that, after Bond 25, we won't be seeing him in a Bond film for at least a decade or two. Hopefully, never again.
There´s Nothing wrong with a lot of Blofeld, as Long as he´s done properly. With Mendes gone, all the doors are open for it.

On another note, why have we not gotten painted posters anymore? Those were the best. The latest poster designs have been very lacking -- CR and QOS were fine if unremarkable, but SF and SP were truly uninspiring. A far cry from the best posters of the franchise.

I think that painted posters are more expensive than the photoshopped ones. Although I do agree that painted posters are far superior and should make a return to Bond.
It depends very much on the Motiv, I´d say. The fotograph for CR with Craig having one Hand on the Gambling table is one the best Bond film Posters of all time.

What wouldn´t be cool About Waltz playing Blofeld again in a terrifically well-written film that Comes together nicely?

Here's my reasoning. I also posted this above, "I have nothing against Waltz as an actor, I just think if he does come back it's a missed opportunity to have a more original villain. Silva was one of the best things about Skyfall and for Craig's run to end with Waltz' Blofeld would be a waste in my opinion."

Also history will tell you that Bond doesn't do sequels... DAF, QOS, SP.

I usually love Waltz, but I don't get the necessity to rectify misguided stuff from the previous movie instead of focusing on telling a good stand alone story like SF did. Seydoux returning is already something I'm not excited about. It's like bringing back Jinx after DAD to "fix" her.

    We'll see.

It´s not odd, it´s a natural tendency of those with no Content to their words to shout them out all the louder.

Waltz Needs a proper script and proper direction. He has by far enough nuances to offer to not be boring. He starred in two Tarantino films in a row, and both times he was mesmerizing. If his Performance Comes across as rehashed (as for instance in Green Hornet or SP), I dare say it´s the director´s and/or the script´s fault.

That concept also damaged Spectre. It spent too much time trying to tie up loose ends, when it didn't need to. Yes, bringing back White was cool but not necessary. Why couldn't have S.P.E.C.T.R.E. just been a new organisation with no ties to Quantum?

By the way, for anyone interested I'm working on my own reboot of Spectre that does just that. It's gonna be it's own story.

The Point of bringing back Waltz would exactly be to do what QoS did after CR, or DAF after OHMSS.

I would only want Waltz back if it’s to acknowledge he wasn’t really Blofeld. Even then it seems a stretch that should just be left alone.

DAF is more of a sequel to YOLT if anything, not OHMSS.

The entire premise of FRWL is deployed as a punitive response to the events of Dr No though.

From Russia With Love only worked because it was a simple, clever story based on Fleming's book, and the connection to Dr. No was very minor. The continuity of Craig's era is already a convoluted mess, why add to it by trying to fix past mistakes... again.

Seydoux is back, that points to Waltz also I feel.

Give him another chance. A fine actor, I think he’ll knock it out of the park.

After all, bond has disfigured Blofeld, ruined his schemes, humiliated him on the bridge and seen him to a lengthy stint in prison.

Waltz has every reason to kill the restraint and bring the crazy.
