    Ah
so a flashback sequence. Interesting they want to delve further into the SP backstory

I don't like that idea at all. I'm feeling they're scarping the bottom of the barrel here. Maybe they should scratch this film, set a new release date for 2022, hire new writers and scour the Fleming novels for better ideas?

It does indicate a general direction that many hoped would not be the route taken for B25

Exactly. I'd prefer if they can't find anything left in Fleming to start adapting the continuation novels. Honestly I'd enjoy the weakest Gardner plot over what became of SP, and the direction the Craig era has taken.

Unless our significant gap has allowed time for a ‘child’ to arrive on the scene.

On paper spectre was the best bond film. The problem was it didn't translate to the final film. The problem wasn't the plot the action was just too boring and orchestrated

Nope, the problem is that they cut out all the good ideas from the script.

Then again making Blofeld a woman or an African warlord were terrible ideas which I'm glad they left out. Not that I like the stepbrother angle mind you.

Agreed about Blofeld being a woman, but Blofeld being an african warlord didn't sound bad at all to me.

That's even further away from Fleming than what SP gave us. And Blofeld does not exactly sound African. You might as well make Blofeld a codename at this point.

    SPOILER AHEAD

Something spoilery on Twitter was just posted on AJB forum. Read at your own risk!

Twitter news, also mentions shooting dates in late March:

An interesting idea, that I think may have been
referred to in Spectre, on the train?

Read through the article now, and unfortunately there's nothing more noteworthy mentioned. I still don't care much for the location. Why film in Norway when the location could be filmed in any snowy location anywhere in Europe – much likely cheaper as well?

I hope this will be one of several locations in Norway.

    Does that mean...
It would be the first ever Bond film with a flashback scene?

I did consider that, but didn't think the gap was quite long enough for it to be plausible. In any event, I hope this possibility is not the case.

    PLOT TWIST:
Barbara and Daniel Craig decided that Bond and Maddie should have a child in Bond 25 but Boyle was against it so he left. :)) How will mi6community react if it turns out this is exactly what happened?

Remember Casino Royale's PTS was a flashback.

What? They're doing flashbacks now? Well, could be a dream Maddie awakes from in Jamaica or Cuba or whatever. Something she can't get away from. That gun under the sink story she tells Bond in the train.

Two killers in hiding, Bond and Swann, trying to put the past behind and failing. Something like that.
I highly doubt that there is going to be a flashback in a bond film especially in DC's tenure, didn't Happen in 24 film's can't see it happening now. There must be a scene involving something else, we will know soon enough.

There is a subtle flashback in OHMSS. Bond stares out the window in M's office and a flashback image of Tracey being pulled unconscious from the avalanche is reflected in the glass.

And in MR, Bond, trapped in the centrifuge, recalls short and sharp images of Q demonstrating the wrist dart.

But this Bond 25 rumour might be the first time we get a full on dramatic flashback.

I actually rather like the idea (despite the fact that they seem to be playing with old tools), mainly because I'm interested to see how Fukunaga directs the scene.

Yes have to say the idea doesn't necessarily seem a bad one. Does suggest we are not going to get a conventional mission movie.

They're doubling down on SP quite clearly.

SP shouldve been part one of a two part movie narrative from the beginning.

Why is everyone assuming it’s a flashback? It’s far more likely that a child will be part of the present day story.

Waltz wasn't mennacing but I honestly don't see how Malek could be any better in that regard, he's too short and youthful as commented by others before. And as for Lupita, she could be a nice addition to the cast but I just don't get how she could be henchwoman material.

how quickly we forget the pre title sequence of Goldeneye was a Pre title sequence nine years before the rest of the film.... one wonders considering so many claim its their favorite film how they forget this

    also
This could just be a villain killing random people scene similar to in Ghost protocol when the villain threatened the wife and child of the bomb expert this could just be similar to that

Given the right material, and direction, Waltz is more than capable of being extremely menacing.
As far as Malek, he has a creepy factor that could play well; this, combined with effective henchmen, offers intriguing possibilities.

I actually love this idea. This franchise has done everything. It make sense to do something inventive and new. Something in this direction promises to reveal more about the Bond character. It’ll show new facets to him previously unexplored.

Purists will naturally rebel against it. But I’m very interested.
