This week starts Star Wars celebration in Chicago with episode IX trailer expected and series info, etc.... it won't surprise me if it's another silent week on official Bond news.

And Avengers immediately afterwards! I believe the timing for an early PC doesn't line up anymore. Remember, it only exists in order to get attention. And at the mo there are too many other pictures in the limelight that are to be released before B25. So my bet is now on the end of may for a first announcement - probably with some early promo stills in costume ;)

Well, it appears we're in for a long wait... At least production has begun, so they're on schedule for once.

As expected, but there are real environmental issues out there. Still the same carbon insanity.

Indeed. There's been more than a few Norwegian films doing shoots abroad though; wouldn't hurt to keep the productions here instead.
In this article/commentary re. the Norwegian film industry's carbon footprint, it's mentioned that the Norwegian sequence
    is supposed to portray Austria:
In order to shoot scenes for the new James Bond film, they have closed off an area in Nordmarka, which is really meant to portray Austria.

The article doesn't elaborate any further though.

    https://morgenbladet.no/kultur/2019/04/filmbransjen-vil-granske-sitt-klimaavtrykk-da-er-ordningen-som-plasserer-james-bond-i

    Here's the thing though:

    0_PAY-EXCLUSIVE-First-Pictures-Of-Bond-25-Filming-In-Norway.jpg

Therefore, if it's a flashback, Mr. White and Madeleine Swann must have lived elsewhere. Where did White get the cabin?
Even if the sequence is supposed to be set in Austria, that doesn't mean it's the White's cabin (Mr. White could have owned more than one cabin too, come to think of it), nor a flashback – although several things could lead us think so.

This one sentence from the article could easily be completely wrong too. It's an article about the film industry's carbon footprint, not Bond.

They may want to get out of the way of the Game of Thrones juggernaut that's about to hit...

Maybe they're taking a page from GoT and filming decoy scenes as well.

Fair points both. It may be tough for the fans, but it's a tactical choice to stay clear of those two monsters. Especially Endgame - I'd wager it might even do record box office. It'll suck up all the oxygen for 2 or 3 weeks anyway.

So, if we need to take in account Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Avengers: Endgame, what dates are left?

Would next week Thursday or Friday (18th or 19th) work?
Or do we really need to look to the 2nd or 3rd of May?

Because if that's the case, I sincerely hope we get a clapper board photo in between. With Fukunaga's hand obscuring the title, of course.

I’m going on a beach vacation from the 22nd to the 29th & I plan on limiting my phone usage which means I WON’T be checking this forum often. If news drops, it better happen that week so I can come home to something to discuss.

Good question - I don't know the dates of those others.

But this is the blessing and curse of Bond being a billion-dollar franchise now: EON is operating in the rarefied air of just a few other players like Star Wars, the MCU, Jurassic World, and the Fast and Furious.

    They're wise to play accordingly.

Eon should Can go up against Star Wars and Jurassic world. The problem is they choose not too. Bond is a billion dollar franchise but the marketing hardly reflects it

Billy Magnussen has been back in the US for two weeks. No new major rumours for weeks. And it seems filming (I mean the REAL, main unit filming) did not start last week. Something very bad is going on. And before you cry "Chicken Little!", no the sky isn't falling. It already fell last August.

The sky is not falling, or at least there is no real indication of it. We are a year from release. Why would you expect magnussen to be in London if main unit filming hasn’t even begun. We don’t even know how big his role is going to be.

Not gonna go as far as saying the sky is falling, but the lack of rumors/news is a bit odd.

Again, I'm not worried anymore. I am 100% zen and now the calmest person in this thread exactly because I have 0% faith in Bond 25.

Umm, he was training in London (probably at Pinewood) on the 22nd of March.

Okay but this doesn’t answer the question of why it’s a problem that he’s not in London now.

To play devil's advocate for a second (and as complement to a question I got on Twitter today), we have absolutely zero evidence that filming actually started this Friday, or that they are filming this week. Yes, there was the Pinewood schedule, and yes, Craig is in London at the moment. Which leads us all to believe (me included) that filming has started. But we can't be 100% sure.

Not that this is a bad thing, I'm not worried anything will be delayed at the moment.

Do I think principal photography has started? Yes.
Am I sure of that? No.

And not that I want to create a sense of worrying, but if filming had started, who is Craig filming scenes with? It's not Wishaw (in a play that runs until May 19th), not Fiennes (expects to join around May/June), not Harris (likewise), not Magnussen (back in the US), not Malek (still in the US). Leaves Seydoux (possible, if she has an expanded role) or any actor/actress we don't know of yet.

So that means that whatever they're doing now at Pinewood, they're very secretive about. I'm curious as to how long they'll stick with "no communication" as their preferred method.

Yeah @PanchitoPistoles you say you are the calmest person on the thread and yet now you are once again saying the production of B25 is doomed, Oh and FYI ColonelSun messaged me saying that principal photography has already begun at Pinewood the reason they did not have the press conference last week is they are waiting for a certain actor to be available [Possibly malik] So does that reassure you that B25 is in good health?

I know the title for Bond 25! Emailed a contact at Eon, his answer came right away. That's all it took. Here it is:
I am currently out of the office.
I know I should've come up with that one on April Fool's Day...

Well? After this week at work, I am then off for 2 weeks which will contain my wedding and honeymoon. So I will be pretty busy and occupied should their continue to be no news?

Seeing as it could be about other big franchises I feel that could well be the case?!!!

During Casino Royale, the press conference was held October 16th. We knew the title was Casino Royale, which was confirmed on February 3rd, 2005.

When principle photography on Quantum of Solace began, the entire cast was confirmed.
During Skyfall, the entire cast was confirmed.

During Spectre, the entire cast was confirmed + we had a clapper shot on the first day of filming.

I don't think it's bad to be cynical when Eon has broken their "pattern". I'm not saying the sky is falling, but it's weird.

@ColonelSun has two friends working on this film-- I believe one of them has been with the franchise since TND. They said that they were shooting last week.

Coinciding with this, I got a tiny morsel that last week, at least the early part of the week, was busy at PWS. It was suggested that at least a part of two days was DC working with the stunt crew.

@DeerAtTheGates touched on something-- there's a strong possibility that scenes are being shot with Bond and Madeleine (according to the IMDbPro site, the only film Seydoux is filming is B25; she has three other films in pre-production... Hmmm...).

With what feels like the caginess of EoN, they can shoot these scenes all on set, away from prying eyes. And perhaps the reason they are doing these scenes (apart from scheduling conflicts for some of the cast), and why there may be a sense of caginess, are that these scenes are story-heavy and would give away the plot.

I'm sure at this point, after the Sony-hacks, Eon, et al, would love to shoot the whole thing in a bubble and away from leaks and whispers.

They seem to be doing a damn fine job of it so far (however I do know everyone was VERY pleased with how the Norway shoot turned out; I was given no details beyond that, (and told the person who let me know this, that that's like giving me a set of finely polished "blue balls"))...

Great point about the possible spoilers surrounding Seadoux, thanks @peter. That would make a lot of sense.

No problem @TR007 -- also thinking that Seydoux has three films in pre-production, we may also presuppose that she can shoot most of her scenes now.

The rest of the days can be DC auditioning the other two female leads (if it hasn't been done yet), and continuing to work with the stunt crew (I have a feeling he and magnussen are going to be trading some nasty blows).

So it’s possible craig and seydoux are filming. If a lot is being shot at pinewood. Does this suggest less action similar to skyfall?
