It was a bit of a tricky journey, some wrong turns and blind alleys on the way, but we got there eventually, all the previous clues invariably add up

These two sort of threw me off as I didn't think they applied to Bill, it was only the weight of the other clues that made me suggest him.
GRRRR, I misinterpreted this and thought the character was in the Connery films!!!!!
