And why do you think I'm a iconoclast?
IMO it's the greatest film of all time. Dalton ^:)^ proves why he is the best Bond with some great acting. Bond is pissed of and out for revenge, but still has his gadgets and manages to crack a joke or two. I love the plot, the villian, the girl, everything.
The action is great, some amazing stunts. The scene when Bond kills Sanchez at the end is just pure badass. The fight scenes are cool, and so are Bonds allies (Sharky is one of my favourite characters of the series), and it's Desmonds best performance as Q. And it's really cool seeing the fall of Sanchez thanks to Bond.
TSWLM is in my top 5, Moore is great, Jaws is great and it's a fun, action packed film. But it can't touch LTK.
Let it be said, I heavily enjoy TSWLM. However, I prefer LTK just a wee bit more. Both are fairly evenly matched in catagories, but I don't know, I've just always loved LTK.
But The Spy Who Loved Me is the best James Bond film of all time. What a brilliant film. Every thing about it was superb. Just a couple of days ago, I ranked the James bond films by 10 categories: Bond girls, 007 performance, plot, action/stunts, other characters, locations, music, villains, gadgets/cars and my own personal likability factor. there was a potential 100 marks to obtain. I gave 91 marks to The Spy Who Loved Me. Everything about it is superb and amazing and iconic. Moore at his best. Nothing does it better.
The Spy Who Loved Me
Yes, yes we do.
Ask and ye shall receive.
LTK
Dr.No vs. On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The battle of the first two debuts and the beginning and end of the 60s golden era.
For Your Eyes Only vs. Octopussy. My 2 favorite Moore films and im curious as to which is more popular.
Look forward to those. I know which one's I'd pick :D
I like TSWLM, but LTK is my favorite of the entire series.
In the spirit of taking suggestions, @DoubleOhhSeven has kindly donated some to us, so to grant his request, here's the next round:
Dr. No vs. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
It shouldn't be (imo) but this one is going to be very close!
4. Dr. No (1962) - 9/10
5. Thunderball (1965) - 8.5/10
6. The Living Daylights (1987) - 8.5/10
7. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) - 8.5/10
Regardless,
God Connery+Origin+Ursula out of the water+Wiseman as a great villain+Quarrel, the #3 Bond ally ever+Jamaica+the famously cold killing of Dent= DR NO WINS
Don't you just love Bond math?!
Much like 0+0 is always zero, Sean Connery plus anything always equals awesome.
