Thanks my dear friend. And yes, I'll be getting them, just haven't decided yet when and where. Maybe I'll buy them in London next month.

My Worst Buy had this fun problem: Release date is today, the system showed they had them in stock, but they "couldn't find them". So fantastic.

I didn't order any online, just went in to have a look at the physical copies. Thought about picking up the Craig trilogy, which apparently should have been available, but no such luck.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, I went to a Best Buy that didn't have any in stock according to their website. I needed to pick up FRWL and DAF (the two I hadn't pre-ordered). They had a stand right at the entrance with tons of copies.

Also, the Canadian Best Buy store has re-stocked online. They have about 20-25 copies of pretty much everything now.

I just made screencaps of all the main title art and poster art. These are the exact images that got the designers of the Bond steelbooks inspired. Soon I have all these 13 Bond steelbooks :-D:

@eddychaput My Best Buy had physical stock in today, same as you said, stand at the front door. Ended up picking up CR, QOS and SF. Thanks for keeping the thread updated!

Edit: Treat for myself when I'm finished work :)

Are you the guy who's making those LEGO-versions of the Bond film trailers :-P?

By the way, could you make some pictures of your Craig-trilogy now? High-Res images? Front and back?

lol no, no I'm not ;) just the one little man at work.

I can't at the moment, but later.
  • $11,99 for a steelbook seems quite cheap..
I swung by Best Buy yesterday to see what new Bond goodies they were carrying.

The 9 new Steelbooks were displayed near the entrance

They had the Craig collection Steelbook

And the new 23 film set. I was seconds away from buying it until I realized it didn't include digital copies.

In the end, I left with the new QOS Steelbook, only because it was the only Craig film I didn't have a digital copy of.

  • It's annoying to know that my steelbooks have already arrived on the 14th of September at my friend's place in Germany, while I'm still waiting for them to be sent by Deutsche Post to my place in Spain :-P.

Having just gotten the steelbooks, I can say that they are undoubtedly worth every penny.

Agreed. Way back in July I pre-ordered, then talked myself out of spending money on blu-rays I already owned and cancelled the order. A couple weeks later the Bond bug bit me and, thinking "what the heck", re-pre-ordered them. They are definitely beautiful collectors items. I can definitely see them going up in value in a few years time.

Yes, unfortunately that will coinside with the devaluation of Blurays as a medium. Trust me, in a few years their only worth will be being used as wind chimes.

Don't count on it. I actually have seen the first 4K BluRay discs in stores already. That's why I don't want to buy the entire collection...again...after three years. I expect that in three years time from now, during Bond 25 production, the entire collection will re-appear on BluRay again, but then in 4k Ultr HD Color. Now those ones I might buy.

Here a link to the latest 4K BluRay's. By Christmas you'll see around 30% of all BluRay's to be sold in 4K, as they can also be played in normal BluRay players....:

The discs in the link are only "mastered in 4k" They don't actually have 4k resolution. They are still only in 1080p.

Anyone know how to access the new documentary (the story so far I think it's called)? I've had the steelbooks for a few days now and completely forgot about it.

I don't think the US steelbooks got it, unfortunately. I've been unable to find a code or it on the menu.

Those two new short documentaries are on the Special Features Bonus Disc Blu-ray in the new James Bond Collection Blu-ray Box, at least in the German-language version.

Nope. The Canadian steelbooks (and Canadian blu-rays are almost always identical to the American ones) don't have any codes for the new featurettes.
  • I think the 9 steelbooks look wonderful together....especially on a shelf! I promiss to make a very good picture of my entire Bond steelbook collection once my current 4 are accompanied by these 9 beauties :-):

Don't you have them by now?
I got mine "long ago" :P

Still thinking of doing a installation with them on a white canvas. Something I have done before with Steelbooks I need to post a photograph to show you once.
  • I actually "got" them already on September 14th, but my friend from Germany IS SLOWWWWW X( . He put it on the post yesterday.....so I expect them end of this week or Monday/Tuesday next week.

I approve of Bond Bromance. I find it terribly difficult to find other Bond Maniacs in my proximity and frankly, I think some of my friends are a little bit fed up with my neverending Bondian Crusades and references in discussions both in real life and on Facebook. :D

Here's my steelbook collection (excluding Goldfinger, which currently sits on a shelf in my home town, a few hundred kilometres away). I decided to only take a photo from the side, because the front and back of each case reflects too much light and doesn't give a clear view on the designs. My favourite cover design is the DAF one.

Bond (B)romance is a nice thing.
With @Gustav_Graves I could actually do away with that capital B, he's a handsome devil B-)
