It does sound like a Young Bond story, however.
I was impressed with the model for Bond in Kill Chain and in VARGR (I think it was), which I also flipped through. Which of the modern Bond stories is best? None of them looked very colourful or weird, which is what I was looking for, but I understand why they might lean toward bloody, dark, gritty, etc. for modern Bond stories.
Top three pick-ups you should look forward to:
1-Hammerhead
2-Kill Chain
3-Solstice
Thanks for the advice!
I agree.
Read it, liked it. Nice Setup for the things to come. The art is charming enough.
That's a shame. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come to pass. I've lost all hope for volume 2 of Felix Leiter too.[/quote]
I don't want to think that, but I am as well. I can do without Felix Leiter volume 2, but LALD and MR I'm looking forward to. Their work on CR was fantastic.
Could Jensen be using a different artistic team? He has said he has a script. Could the racial overtones of the book be holding Dynamite back? Or even more legal rights issues like Casino Royale? We'll see what Van Jensen has to say. He is also working on James Bond Origins, he said himself. I would have thought that with Roger Moore's LALD book being rereleased that it would be positive signs for Dynamite. As well as the novel's 65 anniversary next year.
I am just glad we are getting two new series this year. Wouldn't mind another one-shot too, whatever happened to those?
Possible. Since the collection is called "Vol. 1" i always assumed there would be more. Maybe we'll get another holiday special, like Solstice.
There's also a #1 on the spine of Casino Royale. Van Jensen said he has a script ready. There's something their not telling us, based on Carleo's tweet. Why would they get rid of him? His artwork was the best thing about Casino Royale.
Also, he's not part of the Fleming canon.
Who says that they are using Fleming's work only? Dynamite is using Oddjob and possibly Goldfinger, and they're EON's as much as Fleming.
Oddjob and Goldfinger are Fleming's. Not Eon's. Eon only has the screen rights to them.
I see your point thank you for clearing that up. However, stranger things have happened.
While I do hope to see Kincade included, as well as other Eon characters, someone in the business told me that he believes Eon and IFP don’t have too much of a healthy relationship, these days. At least professionally.
And the sollicitations for both :
James Bond 007 # 2 :
The ODD JOB epic continues, by superstars GREG PAK (Planet Hulk, Mech Cadet Yu) and MARC LAMING (Star Wars, Wonder Woman)!
Somewhere in the world, a smuggler is trying to deliver a mysterious briefcase to the world's most deadly terrorists. 007 must get this case and is licensed to kill anyone that gets in his way.
This is the story of the man who gets in his way.
James Bond : Origin # 4 :
"Rocket Sea" continues...Forced to surface in enemy waters, a damaged Royal Navy submarine docks at a mysterious island for repairs. Lieutenant James Bond leads a hunting expedition across the island. But while hunting beasts, he discovers a far more dangerous prey...
I hope they will include all these covers in the Hardcover collections again.
I do, too. The artwork in all of Dynamite's work has been phenomenal.
