And, speaking as someone who does draw on a daily basis, the more you draw anything, you get a better sense of the elements of what you're drawing from, whether it's anatomy and proportion, how to lay out space and show depth, or how to compose panels to catch the readers' eyes and guide them along the page. I think the art will only get better as Masters is constantly faced with bringing these stories alive, and he's got more practice in drawing Bond and his supporting cast, as well as this crazy world of intrigue they've crafted together.
I personally draw myself but not on daily basis. Just a hobbyist. Practice indeed makes perfect as I have been experiencing in that field over the course of two years as I've been doing character sketches. My first effort, let's say, is a kindergarten kid's push of a pencil in comparison to my latest. Now, let's see what's the next issue has for us, which, if they don't happen to delay, comes out at the end of this month. Literally. My expectations are quite high since this arc, with two issues alone, have proved to be strongly built with excitement and adventure. And I'm not talking about the fascinating storytelling skills of Warren Ellis.

He was looking like a celebrity yesterday, but now I don't know who does the injured man look like. Closest I could think of is Vincent Cassel, who'd make a very decent Bond villain, if you ask me, that is.
I think the parachute/assault sequence is merely a pre-titles type of an adventure. An opening, I could say. This one perhaps is just a random image that captures the spirit of the whole arc. That also said, it reminds me of the train sequence from Skyfall where Bond chases Silva.
That's what I thought too. The Silva part that is.
I'm more of a minor villain type kinda like Elvis but less hair.

Sounds like the writer knows his job. We need more villains like that in the movies as well.
Just finished reading #9 and I have to say, there are many things that I found enjoyable. Especially the art in the third act.
" Assigned to hunt down and eliminate a terrorist threatening Britain's nuclear deterrent, 007 shadows the nation's leading defense contractor at the Dubai Arms Fair. As a lethal trap is sprung around him, Bond finds an unexpected ally in glamorous arms company executive Victoria Hunt."
And thanks @Gerard for posting Hammerhead #2 cover and synopsis. Yay more globetrotting... Dubai was a wasted location in Carte Blanche. (Never finished that book nor even started Solo. )
Regarding the poster for Hammerhead #2, seen it while on vacation in Italy. Can't say much about the outlines, but I love how the water was coloured in the first place. Good to see they're bringing back the sharks... Just not with "friggin laser beams attached to their heads". ;)
@00Agent, I have a feeling at where Bond is now, this might very well be the big finale location.
Doesn't or I don't think the abrupt ending will bother me at all in the scope of the entire story. Might be better for the story than an arbitrary cliffhanger just to fit the format.
It's not like we need a hook to buy #10 anyway. :P
And from the synopsis I think the action changes to a safe house. If so I imagine the conclusion might end there.
One more point how many think Eidolon might end with a bit of a cliffhanger? Seems like the arc might be a transitional story reintroducing SPECTRE and setting up for future stories.
And I know Ellis said no Blofeld. But Fleming's Blofeld was strangled.. wouldn't be the first fictional character to survive that.
Just saying.
But considering EoN's reintroduction of Blofeld and EoN's litigious history they may well enough leave it alone.
I felt the same way. I was expecting the issue to conclude after the preview, but there were only ads. You'd think there'd be a "to be continued..." at the bottom of the last page!
