    You're welcome, @DarthDimi. :)
Can everyone give a ranking of the Dynamite releases...

    1. HAMMERHEAD - Brosnan is still Bond
    2. FELIX LEITER - Tanaka!
    3. VARGR
    4. EIDOLON

haven't read Black Box or Kill Chain yet, respectively not purchased the single issues yet, the SE hardcover editions are pre-ordered though
My ranking on the complete Dynamite series:

    1-Hammerhead (easily)
    2-Felix Leiter
    3-VARGR
    4-Black Box
    5-Service
    6-Eidolon

Kill Chain is still ongoing which is why I can't list it, yet. But, I am sure it will either be better than Hammerhead or equally as great, or close second.

    Thank you, sir. :D

Indeed. As I always told my friend and everybody else, Diggle & Casalanguida should be the regular 007 comics team.

What have people thought were the biggest issues with Eidolon and Service (no spoilers, please)? I see them listed dead last often.

In my opinion, the art is way too simplistic, Bond and the other recurring characters are too stripped down from their usual traits in order to inject modernity or differentiation to the saga in a new format. That's as simple as I could describe it.

VARGR has the better story, however.

I did enjoy both of them, but compared to the other stories they were rather mundane. Eidolon was missing the globe trotting and glamour you come to expect from Bond adventures. Service even more, by being just a 40 page one shot, that felt more like a 24/TV story with Bond in it.

So from a story perspective, in those books Bond comes off as a different character?

I assume this is a problem anyway, with the different writers coming on and how much people say that Ellis' Bond differs from the others despite the stories featuring the same take.

Indeed, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7. While enjoyable at times, Ellis' Bond was not close to the Bonds we know by light years. Like my friend @00Agent said tens of pages ago when we were discussing Bond's persona around the time Eidolon debuted (Good God, it's been over a year!), "This Bond does crazy s**t when he's bored." And frankly, that's how Ellis' Bond comes off.

Using the same chronology and same universe, the character interpretations are close with the others'. Diggle, Gillen and Percy have their Bonds very similar in persona.

Yes, there was nothing off with the Bond in Service. I liked him quite a lot. But the story was too condensed and small scale for a true Bond adventure. I hope Solstice will be better (previews look great)

Ellis's Bond is quite different and a point for controversy around here.
I did enjoy the little 'experiment' that it was, and he worked in the context of his stories, but it might be that Ellis never trully had a grip on Bond like Diggle has. His Bond is perfection.

Precisely. The problem I've had with Service is that it indicated to a certain category of storyline with the constant capitalization on the Imperial War Museum you'd think the plot was going to be Die Hard featuring Bond in that military museum, but nothing could've been farther from the truth. It was a very compressed James Bond story that at least needed three issues to justify its narrative.

I do hope Solstice doesn't make that mistake.

From what i've seen, this Ibrahim guy is as much a Bond fan as anyone of us. His drawings are great (haven't read any of his stories yet though) if Solstice delivers, it would be a shame not to give him a full Mini series.
God i wish i knew what Dynamite has in store for us in 2018...

Indeed. Moustafa's Bond artworks are terrific. I am sure his art won't disappoint me. Antonio Fuso's artwork however played a major part in downgrading Service for me, and Gillen's narrative, despite his best efforts as he said in an interview, didn't reach its potential. Should the story of Solstice end up being a disappointment, at least we know the art is brilliant.

Can someone in here do something for me? Post a full listing of the full, finalized comic books once they are released in 150 to 200 pages hardbacks? I really don't want to buy every part of just one story. I want to buy the full page hardbacks.

    So a listing like this?

JAMES BOND 007 - ORIGINAL DYNAMITE SERIES (Large Hardbacks):
--> 01. "Vargr" (176 pgs.) - Story by: Warren Ellis, Drawings by: Jason Masters & Dom Reardon
--> 02. "Eidolon" (152 pgs.) - Story by: Warren Ellis, Drawings by: Jason Masters & Dom Reardon
--> 03. "Hammerhead" (120 pgs.) - Story by: Andy Diggle, Drawings by: Luca Casalanguida
--> 05. "Kill Chain" (144 pgs.) - Story by: Andy Diggle, Drawings by: Luca Casalanguida **December 2017**
--> 04. "Black Box" (160 pgs.) - Story by: Benjamin Percy, Drawings by: Rapha Lobosco

JAMES BOND 007 - ADAPTATIONS IAN FLEMING SERIES (Large Hardbacks):
--> 01. "Casino Royale" (160 pgs.) - Story by: Ian Fleming & Van Jensen, Drawings by: Dennis Calero **October 2017**
--> 02. "Live And Let Die" (178 pgs.) - Story by: Ian Fleming & Van Jensen, Drawings by: Dennis Calero **2018**

JAMES BOND 007 - FELIX LEITER SERIES (Large Hardbacks):
--> 01. "Felix Leiter, Vol.1" (152 pgs.) - Story by: James Robinson, Drawings by: Aaron Campbell **October 2017**

JAMES BOND 007 - ORIGINAL DYNAMITE SERIES (Small One-Offs, Hardbacks):
--> 01. "Service" (48 pgs.) - Story by: Kieron Gillen, Drawings by: Antonio Fuso
--> 02. "Solstice" (40 pgs.) - Story by: Ibrahim Moustafa, Drawings by: Ibrahim Moustafa **November 2017**

JAMES BOND 007 - MONEYPENNY SERIES (Small One-Offs, Hardbacks):
--> 01. "Moneypenny, Vol.1" (40 pgs.) - Story by: Jody Houser, Drawings by: Jacob Edwards

Ooowh wait, I just did it myself hehe :-P

I doubt the one-shots will see hardback. Dynamite don't seem to like paperback printing for their releases, but the short comics seem to have little hope of a hardback being wasted on them (or at least you would hope from a cost effective standpoint). Part of what has put me off buying these comics is the emphasis on hardback vs. paperback.

For me I'm only interested into the full omnibus books, and not the separate parts in one series (usually 5 or 6). Otherwise the Dynamite Bond comic books become too confusing for me.

But "Casino Royale" I will most certainly buy!

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 if you prefer Paperback, i assume you already saw that november will see a paperback release of the very fist series VARGR?
Looks like the hardcovers were just timed exclusives.
I do prefer the Hardcovers though.
I have a big Bond shelf for all my books, and HC just look better on there.

Absolutely love the Special Edition Hardcovers, not only does it look better but there is a whole lot of "special features" after the story. 40 pages in Hammerhead alone!

@Gustav_Graves, I wouldn't hold out on waiting for all the runs to be collected into volumes in the immediate future. I think what we'll have for a long time is just each separate comic being released in its own edition, separate from the others. It's taken 60 years to get the old Bond comics drawn by McClusky into omnibus form, and you only see that done with comics that've stacked up a big run and that have proven worthy of being in a catch-all release of that size.

These Bond comics just started, so isolated releases seem to be all we're getting. And I prefer that, really. Much like hardcovers are often hampering and clumsy to carry around, omnibuses are in the league of coffee table books; unpleasant to flip through and to read at your leisure. These items are made for the collectable-minded consumer, and not those like myself who simply want to enjoy the content inside. If they never show up I won't lose sleep over it, as long as the paperbacks come.

@00Agent, I hope the news of Dynamite distributing in paperback is true. I was holding out hope that the series wouldn't exclusively come in hardback, as there is usually a choice offered to the consumer on order that you expect to be there. That being said, there's a greater chance of my settling for hardbacks than supporting digital downloads, which amounts to zero probability of participation for me.

I understand the temptation of hardcovers-and many books on my shelf are big tomes simply because I have a lot of informational books totaling about 700-1,000 plus pages that are too massive to print in paperback comfortably-but my needs and interests are better suited by the leisurely and comfortable paperback format.

Do we know if the release of Casino Royale in a couple months will have hardback and paperback options, or just the former? Those adaptations interest me far more than the ongoing series of original stuff, simply because takes on Fleming are intriguing and I'm going through the books now.

    Update
I think there are only special editions in German language of those Hardcovers. Anyone knows more about that?

There are always TWO version of the hardcover book released, the second is a limited special edition, limited to 1007, at least for the German market it's limited, not sure about other language territories.

    That's why I always immediately pre-order them.
