We'll just have to see if they're going to delay it month to month, or just decide to make a much later release to save time and frustration on part of fans.
Thing is, Royale is not like any other Bond title they published. It's an event graphic novel that warrants celebration, which is why however they delay it, for me that's justified. They need it to hit it on the right spot, especially when in 2017, the market was very crowded with Bond comics (good thing for fans like myself).
With Callero still doing pencils (and who knows about how far the inks or colors are along) it shouldn't be expected soon. I am bemused why they stuck to the October date for so long, and only delayed after they were already coming up to that date. I hope that they didn't give the artists a deadline to try to meet the October date with as much work done as possible, as rushing is never good.
There's sure a lot to take into consideration when making comics, and very much we – as readers, take for granted. It never stops surprising me how consistent some of the releases are. Many of these artist are working on a 1-2 pages a day schedule. Some even with both pencils and inks!
...which is why I really hope they don't rush the CR adaptation. Callero is a great artist, so I have no doubt the adaptation is going to be a great one.

I think Dynamite has slightly underestimated the difficulty in adapting an original Bond novel into a comic book. So far the Dynamite Bond Universe consisted of fresh, new, original stories. You have a certain carte blanche then -no pun intended-.
I did see some Twitter updates from Van Jensen himself, and some pictures, where he is really framing each page of the actual novel and how to put that into comic book frames. It's almost like a study to him I think. Thus adapting "Casino Royale" is indeed a far more daunting and challenging task. Not to mention the fact that you actually really have to study Fleming's work.
Hence it's being delayed :-)
Christ, I need it too. I love the idea of creator meeting creation where the creation thinks he's a rival spy for knowing so much about him. Seems like a fascinating comic.
