    No offense to Southworth, but after seeing his initial designs and style I'm quite happy for the artist change. Especially now that we've seen the full color pages.

    Where can you see those initial designs?

    Love the Calero previews. Very much like everything I've seen from him – in a good way. He has this very nice, effective style, with good use of black and white. A bit 'muted' colours, though. Are they going a bit retro in the colouring department, maybe?

    Don't know what to make out of the Preliminary artwork by Matthew Southworth, there. Looking at other things he's done online (Stumptown is one example), this looks different, which I guess preliminary artwork can do. Then again, why go through the trouble with watercolour?

    Beats me. My main problem is that the facial resemblances are very weak with Southwort's efforts and some places felt rather rushed. So, I'm glad he's out. At first I thought Calero was a very safe play when his work was showcased in black and white, but after seeing the coloured pages, I'm more than assured the graphic novel is in safe hands.

    Calero is a safe choice in that you'll get good artwork throughout. Calero's artwork must also be a colourists dream (if he doesn't do it himself), as his black and white artwork is very clean (in lack of a better word). Kinda like that.

    Yes, Calero's style of clean inked drawings suit the kind of coloring that the book is being presented in. I hope they keep him on for L&LD onward, considering he was doing Bond styled artwork long before he got the job:

    Can't say I see the reason for hype when it comes to Solstice, but hopefully it doesn't crash and burn in the face of that same hype Dynamite have been pumping it with for a long while now.

    I actually quite understand where you're coming from, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7. I felt quite let down with Eidolon after way too much hype and build up, only to give us the weakest finale in the Bond comics there is. I do hope Solstice doesn't disappoint us.

    @ClarkDevlin, I just worry about the coverage it's gotten and how Dynamite are really making it out to be one of their greatest works with their teams yet in many, many tweets and announcements about the same approaching date. With it only being around 30 some pages (Am I correct about this?) I naturally think they're in danger of overshooting expectations and audience response because it's a one-shot that's over and done with in comparison to their longer stories that always span many issues and has more time to flesh out story and character. They do have to promote their product of course, but over-saturation is a thing and doesn't allow excitable moods to be tempered when you're always drumming up a particular response.

    From my side it looks okay, but an important aspect is visuals to me and sadly I'm not a fan of the art at all and it looks strangely inconsistent from page to page (maybe that's just me). Of the writing I can't yet say, but I'll leave that up to you lads when the time comes.

    Based on the drawings, setting, characters involved and overall look and feel from the previews, this is already the best One-shot of the 3 so far, so it has that going for it.

    I couldn't agree more, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7. There are only two entries with the Dynamite Comics that actually fulfill all my expectations with a James Bond adventure, and these are Hammerhead and Kill Chain, both being brought by the same team. The others are either meh, okay, average and sometimes below serviceable. I admit, I feel overexcited sometimes when a new title is announced et al, but Dynamite advertises them like they're the greatest thing in the world.

    Let me summarize their entries:
    VARGR: Good.
    Eidolon: Average.
    Hammerhead: Outstanding.
    Felix Leiter: Very Good.
    Service: Serviceable.
    Black Box: Not Bad (below Serviceable).
    Moneypenny: Meh (below Not Bad).
    Kill Chain: Outstanding (so far).

    Let's see what they do next with the Kill Chain finale so I'll decide where to rank it up, the upcoming releases The Body, Solstice and Casino Royale as well as the War Years pre-Fleming timeline comics in Spring 2018.

    Those are really nice! Very recognizable line work, which should suit CR very well.

    You can buy digital comics at Comixology.

    Solstice was phenomenal, i Absolutely loved it. Could have been a Fleming short story. I would actually place it somewhere in my Top 3 of all Dynamite comics.

    If i have to Start a campaign on social Media for Ibrahim to get a full series, i will do it.

    Just read Kill Chain #5 and am ready for the conclusion! The brutality reminded me of Craig’s Bond, but I was also listening to the Skyfall score at the time.

    Now off to read Solstice!

    My God, the ending! :O

    Well, this has never happened before. Now I see how Moustafa was inspired by For Your Eyes Only with this. The short story that is!

    This was one hell of a one-shot comic book. @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, mate, I recommend it. Despite having been feared of misdirection, the advertisements were worth it. Every bit of it, in fact.

    Great work, Moustafa! Great short story! Poor title but the story is pure Fleming.
