HB and DR were notable exceptions. For me Diana Rigg and Eva Green are the two best Bond women. They were so good in their roles, it is hard for me to imagine other actresses bringing more to those roles.
I think it comes from people not really understand the term and definition of misogyny. If they were going to label bond as anything then a chauvinist may be a better fit... and with constant modernisation of him even this might not be the case now.
I also feel like over casual sex the implication of bond being a label because of it is actually the true chauvinism. It disregards our agency as females to choose who we have sex with, when and how we enjoy it. It is 2022 and we are allowed to do what we want with our bodies just as much as men are. I don't understand the sentiment that a man is a stud and a woman a 'slur' if she has casual sex. The man would not be a stud without her!!! But I digress!
DC looks impressed..... ;)
Agree. I met Corden once in a production office. He was so obnoxious and mouthy.
He’s got an interesting face to be fair. Can’t say anything else about him as I haven’t seen anything he’s been in. Anyone who has have any thoughts about him?
I've only seen him in White Lotus season 2 but he does have a

Thanks for checking in but we're about 20 pages past all that if you want to go back.
I forgot Naomi. And even then it's very indirect. He pushes a button, literally.
I'd be on board with ATJ. There are definitely worse rumoured choices out there.
At least he tallies with the Fleming description. The GQ photo below screams Bond to me.
No thanks.
No American actors thanks.
I do hope so. Who knows? Really, who knows? Decades of Bond community and we don't have a bloody insider? Cmon people, get your spy kit and suit up. No one knows anyone in the industry? :P
With all our divergences and arm wrestling, we're a better bunch than the SW fan community, and all the other fan communities out there. We used to have a...what was his name? Yardbird, Yardborough? Who fed us some news directly from the source. But nowadays, in the age of communications, we have...nothing. Not a single source who could use us as much as we could use it/them. Debunking wise, at least.
Oh well, here we are, discussing if news from the Sun are real...
I still wish they were. Real, I mean. We shall see.
Turner's the Adrian Paul of this era! ;) An ostensibly plausible candidate who looks like he'd be a good traditional Bond, but who won't even get a look in.
I agree 100%. IF this is indeed the course they plan to take, I'm good with it.
I'm not sure if he even tallies with the Fleming Bond description in essence though. He's not especially cruel looking, he doesn't look vaguely like Hoagey Carmichael, he's certainly not got the scar on his cheek or comma of hair... I mean, he's got black hair, is about the right age and looks good in a suit, but he doesn't have, say, Craig's distinctive (and what can be described at times/in the right setting as rather cruel) eyes or Connery's rugged features that made him look slightly older than his years.
That's not to say anything about his appearance as he is rules him out as Bond, but neither does it mean anything. Screen presence and demeanour in the role also count.
I have to make a correction here @AmericanBondFan1994 ... The rumours of ATJ auditioning and scoring the role back in September, shooting a gun barrel and being announced in April/May was called a load of rubbish and BS.
But is ATJ an actor that will be audioned because there's interest may and likely is still viable. As viable as any actor that Eon is interested in. I was told at the beginning of the ATJ rumours to put my ear plugs in and ignore.
But the actor himself, we have to assume, will be one of the men they may audition (and that's if he genuinely wants it-- who knows if he does considering he's got a relationship with Eon, at least via his wife. What if BB and company didn't choose him? Would it sour a friendship?).
So yes, I was told to ignore the reports, but ATJ is an obvious candidate and it's not to be assumed he won't be auditioned.
A member from a different Bond Forum was an extra in Casino Royal (the casino sequence) and I remember it was great fun to read all his "insider" posts back then. He didn't spoil anything but it was nice to get an idea how the filming took place.
On a very different note, I was always a defender of Nicholas Hoult as a possible contender to the role, but, after watching "The Menu" - which I liked - I have serious doubts as to whether he'd be apt for it. I found him a bit child like and soft, and too tall. I mean, way too tall. And lacking in presence. Anya Taylor-Joy, meanwhile, stole the show. And yes, she should definitely be considered as a potential Bond girl. And do keep Ralph Fiennes as M, by all means, he's always brilliant.
