Nice assessment, but the term “ nepo baby” is quickly working it’s way up my list of irritating phrases. Lol.

It’s the same thing that was reported months ago. I think at this point no one is expecting Henry Cavill to be Bond.
:))
I don't think he will be either, but since he still gets mentioned here and there and there are people advocating for him as 007 here, I thought it was worth sharing.
Surprising if true. Always came across as quite a nice guy. Guess you can never really know (unless you do know).
This thing's still floating around? Love how the source is Reddit, whose source is...Deuxmoi. Totally legitimate.
I love his films (Lock Stock, Snatch, RocknRolla, Sherlock 1&2, Wrath of Man) but am not 100% convinced yet. Watched Operation Fortune the other day and the editing was way too fast and abrupt in every single scene. The action and cinematography was uninspired and the story and dialogue was lacking like in The Gentlemen.
I do think Guy Ritchie is one of the few Directors who has the artistic synergy and versatility to ingeniously elevate that classic Bond feeling if he slows down the pacing at times (makes it more dynamic), adds a bit of depth to the characters and doesn't forget to focus more on his (non story related) beats (e.g characters interacting with their surroundings/physical objects as well as other non speech actions).
There are some snippets in this trailer that look really good, even if in its entirety it comes off as very generic. A realistic Bond isn’t necessarily a bad way to go (and would fit well with Nolan too).
Martin Campbell’s ‘The Foreigner’ shows that CR wasn’t just a fluke. It’s stripped down of glamour but still a solid lesson in the fundamentals of filmmaking.
Looks very different for a Guy Richie film, he's a great filmmaker/writer. MGM are involved as well so I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the radar for Bond 26
Oh has that been released? I don't think it ever came out in the UK, weirdly.

True. I know what you mean. It's not over-stylized. Like Tony Scott and Michael Bay, Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn are similar....and I'm not sure they would suit a Bond film
Sorry if I came across as a bit harsh, I wasn’t having a go or meaning to cause offence. Some of these stories pop back up on websites like they’re just breaking, but it’s just a website having a slow news day regurgitating something from somewhere/somewhen else. I’ve been caught out a bunch of times.
So they think that because he likes videogames* and wanted to be respectful to the source material, he's a misogynist? #-o
* Gamers must be the last group that can be attacked online, and it's supposed to go by unchecked.
No worries. I think he lost his window of opportunity to be Bond in any case.

It's not dodgy: it uses archived versions of web pages to avoid the paywall.
I like his reinvention films more than his later niche ones tbh.
True.
Have you ever seen The Offence? That performance alone was Oscar worthy.
Having seen him act in Happy Valley (particularly the last episode) I am now more convinced he could play Bond. There are far worse suggested candidates out there at the moment.
Yet I wouldn’t have watched them if it hadn’t been him directing.
He won't be Bond, I'm certain.
