Actorwise Hiddleston is the man for the job. Personal life-wise I could care less if his Taylor swift romance is real or fake. It doesn't matter and has no bearing on his acting abilities.

For me I fear Hiddleston will bring Moore of a Roger Moore performance to the role. Like I said if he got cast tomorrow I wouldn't be upset but I wouldn't be jumping up and down either

And I say, please bring it on. It's been long missed by me. Rog gets a bad rap these days imho and there was more to him than just the clown. Early Moore was just my kind of Bond.

My favorite Moore film is still For Your Eyes Only but just my opinion

@ clarkdevlin sorry your right I learned forum behavior from Paul Frieg who said bash your ideas down people throats till people agree and love them (just kidding and sorry about the constant posting I am quite bored at work)

    Thanks

has anyone seen some of the new pictures from King Kong skull island?

Tom is rocking a Live and Let die Pistol holster in that movie.

and he is playing an ex SAS operative named James.
This will be basically his 'Bond before Bond' role, should he get the part.
I must say though that this would make it seem more unlikely that he will be the next Bond.
Especially if Skull Island becomes a success...

I just came back from seing Me Before you and I guess Sam Claflin has become my new favorite to be the next Bond.

He definitely has the charm and good looks. Reminds me very mcuh to Pierce in his prime.

Hiddleston absolutely is not the man for the job. I couldn't care less about his personal life; I don't want him as Bond.

Based on past history I reckon there's around 12 months or so for EON/MGM to cast a new actor so you never know who may pop up in the next year. But it's fair to say the 'Tom Hiddleston for Bond' crowd seem to be the loudest! I guess he must be up there with a chance.

Plenty of Bond fans think he is. Including me.

I have a new candidate which was mentioned over here some time ago and now mentioned on IMDB im talking about Sam Heughan.
He does have the classic Bond look and seeing a few clips of him On Youtube from Outlander seems like the perfect choice.

I can see him playing Bond.

But why is everyone so quick to assume DC is done?

SH already ruined Jamie. Even though - to be fair - its more the script, that turned the man Jamie into a boy. Still...

Mmm you really loved those books didn't you?
While I haven't experienced something like this in such a strong way, i read fifty shades and wasn't very pleased with Dornan but still wasn't much of an issue for me, sure i wanted a hotter guy but I wasn't completely mad with the choice though a friend of mine did and i was with her

i went with that Friend to see vampire academy because she was in love with Book's dimitry. her deseption with the guy the chose was like you have no idea. It ruined the whole fiilm for her and she was very excited the vampire academy series would go to the big screen

She told me you would have loved this guy if they would have casted the right actor again I didn't like the actor but it was no big deal for me the same for outlander.

I haven't read the books so I don't think like Sam's casting being so bad but you read the books and imagined your perfect Jamie.

Jamie WAS the perfect MAN in those books and they turned him into a boy. That was - yeah -sad. He never grew on me, but I love Claire. I pictured her different, but she has the energy Claire has in the books.

Up to the Craig era, what actors are actually factually known to have screen-tested? One of my Bond Holy Grails is to see all screen test made available.

I'd love to see Brosnan's screen test for The Living Daylights badly. And Henry Cavill's for Casino Royale.

This is the only shot from Cavill's screen test that I could find:

I'm a big fan of Cavill, but after giving it some thought I'd much rather see him a Archer, if they made a movie.

I'm quite gratified that Cavill didn't make the cut, although I'll admit I was rooting for him pre-CR. Babs made the right call.

All the reasonings above are from the same people who hate pretty much anything that is lighter and no emotions coming in the way... For example, Pierce Brosnan in his Bond films. ;)

Reasonings for what? Not liking Cavill?

Saying he's wooden and not "expressive" enough. ;)

I merely think he's a horribly generic, wooden actor. If it needs to be stated again, you won't find a bigger Brosnan fan than myself, someone pining for the return of fun, straight-forward missions in the Bond films.
