It's a nice idea in theory, but... okay, he's younger than Moore was, and age-wise it just might be possible. Ignoring age, there's that caped guy already mentioned, which I imagine would be a huge hindrance even though it's not a current commitment. All in all too well known and established as an actor, I suppose they'd want someone less known. And I can't imagine why he'd want it himself - he doesn't need the money or the fame, and I assume he wouldn't want the long, multi-movie commitment of doing huge productions (he prefers smaller ones anyway) that would limit his other choices. When he signed that 3 movie deal back in 2003 it was, among other things, an opportunity to increase other options, now it would be the opposite. He was also that much younger, hadn't had as many injuries (not sure if that aspect would be a consideration or not, but it's there, anyway), and didn't yet have kids. He might have been interested then (he was asked about it in interviews), but I really don't think he would be now. He still drives the second hand Toyota pickup he bought around that time, but otherwise things have changed.
In short: I don't believe either side would consider.
I like your ranking of the Bond voices! I might put Daniel's second myself as his voice is very authoritative. Pierce's is smooth, but his pronunciation of "Bond" often slips into the American pronunciation. Tim had an excellent voice, but sometimes hard to make out exactly what he said on the first viewing or two. For instance in Daylights his "DEATH to SPIES, Minister" sounded to me like "DEATH DESPISES me"...which pretty much makes no sense. I always liked Sean's voice even though it changed dramatically over the years. His NSNA voice is pretty much the same as in INDY/Last Crusade. Roger is always smooth.
Thanks im glad you liked it and i as much as i love Pierce i was indecisive of my second place but i guess for me smoothness won over Authorative.
And i agree on how Sean's voice has changed over the years. His best was in the 60s though the one in the 90s when he did entrapment
Here's the premise:
Instead of having an analyst (Nicolas Cage) on board, the American CIA brings back a retired agent (Clint Eastwood) who captured John Patrick Mason (Sean Connery) in the 1960s all by himself, and they both will have to go and clear out the threat that is residing in Alcatraz. After such a problem has arisen, you call in... The Old Guys. ;)
No name? I thought his name was Joe.
He told the Mail on Sunday: “I got a tip the other day which I’ll share with you.
“I understand (Bond producer) Barbara Broccoli is absolutely no way going to pick Tom Hiddleston. No. Way.”
Make of that what you will. I'm sure the Hiddy defenders will claim it's either a bogus piece or Forsyth knows nothing about the future casting of Bond. Either way, I'm just reporting the rumour.
You could do worse, like Jamie Bell.
