It's this sort of short sightedness that doesn't help EoN in finding the talent it so desperately needs. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a very good actor and was excellent in Headhunters, giving a number of Bond vibes in that film and is excellent in GoT. When GoT first aired I thought he was English but I'm any case he's 46 so that rules him out. The point is, EoN need to move away from their outdated traditions when it comes to talent and start considering people where appropriate. Furthermore, I sincerely hope Purvis and Wade aren't attached to Bond 25. If they are, well, good luck EoN.
Foreign actors can't pull off the accent? Well that's just being intellectualy dishonest; and what accent exactly? Have you really listened to all 6 actors? They sound invariably different. Brosnan didn't even sound British to me. I think you're grossly underestimating the craft of acting and being able to inhabit a role. The talent is most certainly out there but EoN just need to be bothered to look. It's funny, it's always the writing that is the fundamental blueprint to any film and some of the best Bond films had their screenplays written by Americans. British and Commonwealth only actors and directors, especially for the latter is absurd. Outside of CR, the movies have been circling the drain of subpar and mediocrity. Shit needs to change.
He can be from Trinidad and Tobago for all I care, if it's Connery bring him on.
I don't understand this suggestion that he should be from the Commonwealth though? Just because someone is from the Commonwealth doesn't mean that they can act the part. Moreover, some of the major 'white' Commonwealth countries (such as Australia and Canada) have been a magnet for immigrants from all over the world for most of their lifetimes as independent entities.
So it's quite possible that we could have a Polish descended Commonwealth citizen as Bond based on this rationale, and I don't see how that would be any different from having a Polish citizen as Bond.

This Texan agrees. (Grandfather English if that counts :D)
These are all solid attributes and a good heritage. He has some potential.
if so, then with eloquence, charm and wit.
As for @Thunderfinger , everybody knows he secretly loves Brosnan as much as I love Justin Bieber.
@Getafix is a true Daltonite. He is forgiven therefore.
I think he had what it took to do a much better job than he did, and his era was far less than it could have been as a result. I don't blame it entirely on the scripts, and I agree with his retroactive assessment of his tenure. He never really got a handle on the character, as he later confessed.
I enjoy GE (love it actually), TND (the first half is as good as it gets) & even DAD (as a laugh).
It's TWINE and his performance in it that I really dislike.
Regarding the GoT actors: I brought up that show earlier on this page for a reason. It's really a well acted show with great characterizations. Given Bab's penchant for depth, I think that is the kind of show she will be mining for future talent, either as Bond or as a supporting cast member. There are quite a few Bond alumni on it as well.
Any of these could be Bond but they have to be able to light the screen up and carry a massive film on their shoulders. If they have that 'presence' then they will become attractive to the masses in the blink of an eye.
Bruce Willis wasn't traditionally handsome, and that goes for many actors all the way back to Humphrey Bogart. But what they had was screen presence.
Our next Bond is out there, and it could easily be any of the people I've seen in these pages.
Oh God not again.....
EXACTLY!!! Which is my major problem with just about EVERY potential Bond actor mentioned.
Where, in Fleming's FRWL Bond description is 007 described as wearing a beard or any facial hair? For f***'s sake even Santa Claus now would probably be a contender if he weren't past the age limit!
I simply will not accept a Bond who looks like he belongs in a cheesy '90's boy band a'la Backstreet Boys.
Somehow, I doubt Babs will either when she actually does replace Craig.
