Of course, with the exception of Tim and Laz, one might argue they all had a bit of a beer belly at one point. I think the Connery of DAF could have taken the Pierce of DAD with no worries.
Absolutely. No doubt about that.
The TND ones are really poor in comparison to GE. I think TWINE is a step up though. He does a few cool little takedown moves through the film, like in the bankers office and when he pins the guy to the bar in the casino, and I actually really like the submarine fight. I think how sloppy it is works really well in context (Renard is a terrorist not a trained fighter, and Bond is exhausted) and it feels really passionate to me, a proper slugfest, like they both really hate eachother.
I watched the fight again and couldn't see the burnt scar.
Back on topic: if he wasn't too old already I think Fassbender would be out now. If recent claims of domestic abuses are true.
Maybe. But Fassbender is not getting any younger either.
Come to think of it, in our day and age it might be safer to give the role to a gay actor. (I'm joking of course).
There's no doubt that EON will have to do a full background (and perhaps even a Bond style psych eval) check on the next chap. We don't want any unfortunate blow-ups or unsavoury revelations mid-tenure.
The sad thing is that we’re reaching, or have reached, a point where an accusation equals guilt. Once the actor is cast, who knows how many disgruntled, not abused, exes will come out of the woodwork?
Not to mention jealous new boyfriends of exes, plain slanderers, etc.
I think a lot of actors use Bond as self-promotion. Hemsworth doesn't need the self-promotion. I'm sure most film goers know him from Thor so who knows, perhaps he's genuine about playing the role. My gut feeling is Babs and MG would choose a British actor over an Australian.

Let's just hope the next James Bond actor is not decided by Daily Mail readers:
Yes, thanks for that contribution. Very helpful. :P
They can for all I care, I have the films on blu ray and dvd and vhs and they can’t take that away from me
First they need to work out what direction they want to take the series next, and then look for the person that best fits that direction.
Not to me, thankfully.
I agree.
