Hardy is indeed not tall enough to pull off Bond. A certain stature is necessary and DC already struggles in some scenes with his 5'10"
Tom Hardy might be too old to succeed to Craig anyway. He is already the same age as Craig when he was cast as Bond. And too famous now.
That disqualifies him right away.
That's the trickiest part. Building skills and experience as an actor yet staying off the radar for long enough.
I am not so sure they can. Daniel in Casino who was the Bond who had just been made a "00". So they can't really go back they way either.
It will be another reboot this time a younger actor. Initial one film deal, see how it goes then if succesfull signed them up for 4 more films.
I think they might go back to the Novels in a correct sequence. It may even be a period Bond franchise set in the 50/60's?
Or they can go with a new time line, new cast, and start off with new stories in modern times?
Or the new films take place between the events of Casino and Skyfall with another actor?
Either way I posted on here before I don't think that is decision the current heads of EON i.e Michael G & Barbera will make. I think both will step down when Dan does after 25 (2017). Michaels two boys are already working as producers one of them on Skyfall both on Spectre and Barbs daughter will be entering the frey soon as well. When that time comes, the next generation of the family will be running matters, with a new bond, cast and director and fresh ideas.
I'm hoping DC stays with us for at least another decade after seeing that disappointing assortment.
The only ones I find interesting enough are Bale (likely too old now) & Hiddleston.
And why Wouldn't they? They'd been doing this since the beginning. The timeline has always been blurry.
Time will tell. I think she will be happy to take a back seat and be on hand to guide Wilsons sons. I don't see her going through the process again with the plaudits that have come with the Dan era I just think her legacy will be fulfilled and that it would be time t9 hand over the baton to next generation. But that's not to say it's after 25. Dan could do 26 it depends in the strength of the script and how he feels at that age if he himself considers himself too old.
Craig will be 50 or older when he retires, so it's a given Bond will lose a good 12 years when recast.
At least 12 years. My bet is an actor in his early or mid 30s. With a three years gap between film I cannot see much older.
At age 30, with 3-year gaps, he would be 45 for his 6th film. So I agree with you.

Elba is nonsense, of course, if only because of his age. My money would be on Cavill.
He's also got a bit of a Geordie accent which might not work. If he has to be constantly 'putting on' a different voice for Bond it might detract from the role. I dunno.
"The press's continuing fixation on Elba is a joke given he is way to old."
Yes indeed - it's a headline and it's clickbait. The idea of him as Bond is going to bring...reactions and comments, and that's what the media is all about. He's basically the new Clive Owen, i.e. the guy that the internet has declared as their choice for Bond, and EON will completely ignore it, for age reasons alone before even getting into anything else. I think someone will run with this Bond rumor and cast him in an action lead as a Bond-lite character, just like those forgettable action movies Owen did, and that'll be the end of it.
I never, ever understood, for the life of me, the enthusiasm the internet had back in 2005 for Clive Owen as Bond. Is it because he had a tuxedo in some movie or other? Still don't get it. He is a capable enough actor, but I never thought he looked like Bond.
I'm also getting quite tired of hearing about Idris Elba so much. He's too old, it won't happen. Fact, end of discussion, doesn't need to be brought up in any more trashy Yahoo articles that try to condemn those who are against him playing Bond as racists. He's too old, it's just not going to happen. Fantastic actor, though, don't get me wrong, but he isn't James Bond.
I think you're being a little harsh. A lot of people would have said the same to Craig ten years ago. There is no more or less talent or Bond-worthy material, it just needs to be found in an intelligent manner.
I like the idea of Hiddleston playing Bond. I don't see why it has to be an unknown actor. Imagine the market appeal of Bond if Hiddleston to play Bond, it would grow dramatically. That's what the producers need IMO.
I personally find Idris Elba (despite his age) to be one of the best choices on that list, & I'm not really in favour of him becoming Bond, or of a black Bond in general - which says something about how sad I find the choices on that list to be.
I'm pretty sure our next Bond is not on that list and will be a surprise to most of us.
Yeah basically the movie Croupier where he wore a tux and hung out in a casino, combined with those BMW(?) ads where he got into some car chases gave people a superficial impression of him being appropriate for Bond.
Not sure how would it grow dramatically? Am I missing something? We are talking about that campy goof from the Thor movies, right?
I would love to bet against any of these happening. There's no reason a new Bond needs to fit into the previous films timelines. There never has been.
