To be fair, @Shardlake and @Mendes4Lyfe, my only gripe with Craig is the blonde hair (kidding, I'm a McQueen fan, I don't mind the blonde hair that much) and some of the directions he's been given with the character. That guy who seduced Solange is the very same who seduced Lucia. And I loved that guy. He has those character traits and knows how to use them well. I just hate it when they turn him into the terminator. That and the blonde hair ;) are my two gripes with Craig. Other than that, I really do like him and I loved his era. A true return to form in oh so many ways.

That being said, I would love it if Turner were to be Bond number 7.

    And I'll miss Craig anyway.

I agree with this, that's one of the scenes where he has that allure. You want to be him, but in the later movies when he is all dispondant all the time, I lose interest.

Someone once said that James Bond should enjoy being James Bond, and for me Craig doesn't have enough scenes like that after Casino Royale.

But Turner on the other hand has an infectious cheeky nature which leads me to believe he could be what we have been missing. And the darker hair is definitely preferred.

    Can't argue with that ;)

I hereby support my brethren in combat @Univex @Mendes4Lyfe @barryt007 to spread the Turner gospel. Has anyone read this idiocy however? https://amp.theguardian.com/film/2019/jul/15/lashana-lynch-new-007-james-bond-daniel-craig

I think out of Cavill and Turner for Bond as they seem to pop up on this thread a lot? I think I would pick Turner. We should do an MI6 poll of all the actors linked and see who comes out on top?

If Nolan is directing Bond 26, which there is a good chance, then it could be Tom Hardy or even Robert Pattinson.

Well....perhaps we are focussing on the wrong lead in Tenet. Maybe we should be looking at John David Washington. I hear he is the genuine lead of the film. If he half as much talent as his dad, than I wouldn't be adverse to him being considered for the role.

Watched the first two episodes of the fifth series of Poldark. There are a few Bond/M like scenes that Turner shares with his would-be employer in 'covert' activities.

Does he whisper and snarl and make a very intense face?

Not if he's American, then we'll have the 'not an American actor' discussion first!

This just goes to show us some people just want to see the world burn. Some people just want to stir things up. And be hailed as better human beings for it.

    Pish-posh-people, I'd call them ;) We've got a few as members here.

I agree wholeheartedly, particularly with the point that many who propose a black Bond do so with a false sense of moral and social superiority.
Often though the transparent intent is to stir the pot.

Exactly. And most of them take us as fools, or credulous, gullible, easy marks. Which, we're not.

James Bond is a British male caucasian, that shouldn't stray away too much from this representation of a fictional beloved literary character:

Anyone who says differently should just make their own character or go find another series to pester with their false sense of moral and social superiority.

I am neither attempting to stir the pot or pander to some social agenda.

I think all actors - of any race or nationality - should be considered for the role. I think it be marvellous for Eon to consider and possibly hire an actor of another ethnicity, especially if they were right for the role.

If Eon felt it mandatory to bring in a British actor, someone I've had my eye on for a while is Sope Dirisu. I think he could be a star in the making. He's the perfect age, though he's too much of an unknown entity currently. I hope he breaks out soon, as British ethnic actors do seem seem to get typecast so often.

Sope Dirisu is 100% on my shortlist for the next Bond...
