Wooden actor.
A no from me. Awful suggestion.
If he is decent in the role, heroic and all that stuff, I'm sure social media will promote him as the next Bond. You could argue both ways - the next actor could be unknown-ish or someone making high profile films. Madden seems to be going the big budget films route with his career which could help his chances? Then again, Daniel Craig hadn't made many big films before he got the role. It's hard to know how it will pan out. No-one knows! ;)
It’s a shame he’s too short.
Dutch = Automatic rejection IMO. Has to be a Brit.
This.
That excludes Lazenby and Brosnan.
I'm Dutch, but no to Huisman. Aidan Turner is the far better option, he has the natural charisma Huisman lacks.
I can't really explain it but I'd be disappointed if he was chosen out of all the actors listed.
No offence to his fans at all by the way, I just never really took any notice of him till now
Wrong thread?
I think he's actually one of the ones that makes the more sense: he's extremely strong and charismatic in Peaky Blinders in a way that most of the other candidates we talk about aren't.
😂😂😂
Yes it would do. However, at least Australia is Commonwealth and Ireland used to be part of the UK. A Dutchman is a blatant foreigner. But yes, I would exclude all none Brits in the casting process.
I've been saying this on here for a while. I believe 100% it'll be him. I have this strange feeling it's him. I have for some time. It never gets picked up on here. People keep naming Aidan Turner. I won't be him. He's the new Clive Owen. It's a brave new world at EoN. They do things differently now. Craig came in and has irreversibly changed something. They're attracting better talent than they have in decades. Gone are the journeyman directors and cinematographers. Let's hope the post Craig era gets rid of P&W too.
I think that all came about because he appears in one scene with a tuxedo.
To a Brit, the Canadian accent sounds American. Plus they would have to pull off an English accent. Which about 99.9% of Canadian or American actors can't do.
I'm a Brit and Canadian accents are definitely discernible from American ones.
They sound the same too. The actor needs to convey an English accent.....which isn’t feasible.
Oh was it? The small bit I saw he was trapped or being followed in a basement or something.
Even though he wasn't playing a character like Bond, there was nothing in his performance that hinted he could be James Bond. There didn't seem much presence there
No Dutchman or any other-language actor should be considered as they can't 'do' a convincing English accent. That was my point.
However - Australian vs. New Zealand accents IMO as an Englishman, sound the same.
I don't think that's necessarily true.
Seriously? They're quite easy to spot: Kiwis have much clipped vowels; they tend to pronounce 'e's as we actually say the letter 'e'! :) Speaking as an Englishman! :)
