Oliver Jackson-Cohen
I've added Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who I mentioned a while ago as a possible candidate.

Talking of South Africans, any South African actor who could play Bond? Like Australia the country is a member of the Commonwealth so they could be included. They have a very distinctive accent, but some might be able to get a British accent more naturally than Americans.
Tom Hiddleston? I know he’s not popular on here....but I still think he’s worth a screen test.
I would personally disqualify any actor who has headlined or had a recurring role in superhero films.
I like Hiddleston....He can nail the Suave, Debonair, Witty, Slick and Classy 007 with ease. But there were talks that his previous affair with Taylor Swift might have ruined his chances.
I think as long as Hiddleston didn't play a protagonist or superhero, he had a chance.
I also think Harris Dickinson should be on that list. He's 24 and already worked with directors like Xavier Dolan, Danny Boyle, Joanna Hogg and Mathew Vaughn. Once the Kingsman film comes out, he'll be everyone's list. This guy is really attractive. I'll admit to not having seen anything he is in.
I wanna check out Beach Rats. Has anyone seen it? From what i can see, he has a great voice and he looks about 6"2 or taller. I get a bit of a Robert Pattinson vibe from him. It's early day's, but he could be a star. If Bond 26 starts filming in 2022/23, then he'd be 26+.
My thoughts exactly. But why does the Taylor Swift association matter?
It's weird that it should have an effect... But it kind of does IMO.
Yeah, I think because EON always like their potential 007 to have an air of mystique. Even if Hiddleston was already known as Loki to the public.....at least Loki is a Villian. The public were yet to see him in Heroic Mode. But going out with Taylor Swift who's such a huge celebrity made Hiddleston's name appear everywhere. I think if Hiddleston had gone under the radar a bit after his unofficial James Bond Screentest in The Night Manager, he might have remained a top 007 candidate.....Coz am sure his Very Classy performance in The Night Manager must have caught Barbara's attention. And that was 2016, when we weren't sure of Craig's return.
Yeah didn't it mean that everyone just thought he was kind of a massive dick after that? I agree it shouldn't make a difference to a person's acting career, but I guess it helps if they're actually good to start with! :D I've seen him in a few interviews and he mostly comes off as a bit of a tit.
I find it harder than with most when I watch him to not see a guy who is pretending.
I'm not a huge fan either. And he has no chance of being Bond due to his involvement with the MCU I imagine. Otherwise the Night Manager may have been his Layer Cake, but I can't see him as Bond either way.
Unfortunately I think he has little chance of becoming Bond now. I'd have loved to have seen him as 007, though.
Well Bond went to Eton so I guess it's fair. I'm not sure the audience is in love with that right now though, there has been a bit of kickback to the Cumberbatch/Redmayne breed making British stars feel a bit one-note of late.
Craig hits a great note of slight classless-ness with his Bond, I'd say. He's not irritatingly posh but works as being someone who certainly likes -and knows- the finer things. It's something Connery definitely brought to it. I'd certainly like to see that continue into the next Bond.
Yeah it's confusing: 'public school' and 'private school' essentially mean the same thing in the UK! :)
(Or rather public schools are a particular elite type of private schools, but it's all very confusing!)
Exactly.
As @mtm said. Public/ Private are Schools one pays for. State Schools are free.
Bond is a ‘public school boy’.
