Yes. I like both, but... nope, not happening.
(Btw, I watched 4 actors' interviews for the first time ever within the past week. I decided immediately I liked Bautista and Fassbender a lot. :) )
Big? He's hardly big. ;) He isn't cool or suave, either, but I'd say neither is Craig - but he can act one, and I don't know why Hardy couldn't. Not that I'd want him for Bond, anyway (though I like him both as an actor and as a person a lot), but just saying.
Yes and yes.
Whether Bond 25 stars Craig or someone else entirely, I think at this point it'll be another lesser known British actor to take over. It won't be someone overly popular like Hardy or Fassbender, and it won't be someone that'll be too old when they step into the role like Elba.
Lol, I haven't been on this forum in 2 months, I come back and look at this thread and I see EXACTLY the same 6-7 names being thrown about :)
Trust me, it's not by my doing! I don't visit this thread a lot, either, so when I checked it out for the first time today, I noticed the latest topic was Hardy, so I had to step in. ;)
Also, welcome back!
But I didn't propose him for Bond, and I'm sure it will never happen, either. I wouldn't even want him for Bond, anyway. I'm not convinced he'd be a good fit. And also because I like him too much, if that makes sense. It's a tough job, and I don't mean the movie making side of it. Hardy is not tough (he says so himself as well), and I'd worry he'd struggle and be miserable.
Even in Inception?
I, too, wouldn't want him as Bond, and would also be bummed if he was announced as the next one to step into the shoes of 007.
I agree ...Hardy good actor but not my first choice.
Fassbender is my choice.
@Tuulia
look at that amazing body, hot damn! From Warrior
just to show what "big" can mean, it's all a question of interpretation.
Because even if I like Tom Hardy a lot, he was born in 1977, at least 3-5 years too old for playing Bond by 2020. So is Fassbender by the way.
Interesting thought there. But I don't think it's true. Or maybe there's some partial truth here. He says he was about to film X-Men 2, so this would have been 2002-3? At this time, EON did not have the rights to Casino Royale so presumably they were going to make more "business as usual" Bond films. So I can believe Jackman might have been considered as a potential continuing Bond. BUT when they decided to make CR, that idea went out the window. In September 2004 Sony acquired MGM, and together they now had the rights to Casino Royale. It was announced in February 2005 that they were going to make CR.
So long story short, I can buy that Jackman might have been approached for a potential "Bond 21", to replace the 50 year old Brosnan, but he was never under consideration for Casino Royale.
Well, obviously words can mean different things to different people. I already explained that I don't think "big" is the same "muscular"/"well built". Even when he has worked out to fit into a role when he needs to be that way, he won't be "big" to me.
Yes, exactly the way I think of big vs muscular.
Just to clarify, though, in case anyone misunderstands, I'm just talking about the meaning of words there, I don't think being "big" is important. And movie magic can make people look bigger than they are, anyway. (TDKR being a perfect example of that concerning Hardy.)
This guy has an interesting look, and i never heard of him before, thats how i like it.
Can you recommend a perfomance of his?
To get a better picture.
Judging by the trailer, i think i'll like it.
This is the first suggestion i can take serious
@Tuulia, I can see it not being for everyone, especially with a lackluster ending, but I enjoyed not knowing what was going on the entire time, not having a clue what the twist may be.
I can see that evaluation, especially once the big reveal is unveiled and the film takes a much different turn. The former half was better than the latter half.
The Guest sure is the movie to go if you want to get to know him.
Dan Stevens was also a regular on the very successful television show Downton Abbey during the first two years of that show.
