I know bookmakers are never to be taken much notice of with Bond but, I believe Aidan Turner has just received a flurry of bets at Ladbrokes, he's gone from 20/1 to 6/1.

What's happened lately that's helped lower his odds? Is he in a new spy series or something?

He is high up my list if he gets a transplant for that hairline.

Hair should be a non issue for the right actor; aside from Lazenby, all of the previous Bond actors have used a bit, or in Connery’s case more than a bit , of movie magic when it comes to hair.

Loving the versus things. My picks from each of these posts would be:

    1. Madden
    2. Barnes
    3. Regretfully, Hiddleston
    4. Hardy
    5. Cooper

Other than that gotta agree some of the names floating about the last few days are pretty interesitng.

Nah that would be mayhem. I think they should choose a good actor who can look the part and can transform into Bond, like Craig did, and make it believable. That's why we can't guess it by who takes our fancy.

What I mean is- I am surprised to see such a suggestion.

I must admit I was one of those who was apprehensive about Daniel when he first was announced, which changed as soon as Casino Royale premiered. If I had known about his performance in Layer Cake, I wouldn't have been as surprised with his casting, just as with Pierce and Remington Steele and Roger and The Saint.

Not sure if he’s been mentioned here before and he may not have the traditional look but after seeing him in a few things and recently getting into Servant, I think Toby Kebbell would be a great choice. I think he could very much continue in the current darker, Flemingesque interpretation while offering something very different than Craig. Maybe a little more Daltonesque.

Edit: Funny enough , he was asked about the role a few years ago and had some interesting comments.

I hadn’t really thought of him for Bond before and I haven’t seen Servant, but actually yeah, I can picture it. Brilliant actor, I’ve been a fan since Dead Man’s Shoes. Very versatile, natural presence and physicality, and he’s even played a decently convincing action hero before, in a low budget film called The Veteran a few years back. Could be a great choice.

Jack O’Connell, who’s still probably my favourite suggestion, but I really like Turner too.

I don't remember it at the time, but scenes and moments like that are what catches one's eye. Wasn't BB sold on Craig after seeing his walk. More actors and films to investigate!

I think one of these should play Robin Hood and the other Prince John. Directed by either Guy Ritchie, Matthew Vaughn or Edgar Wright.

I dunno, why shouldn't they if they're going to go with a no-name actor anyways. Imagine the publicity. It would hype up the announcement, could help shore up the box-office, and if they take a small fee for each audition they'll raise their production and marketing budget, and then some. It would be one of the biggest events on the planet.

He's quickly becoming my #1 choice and someone I could see being on Barbara's radar. I think he's in the sweet spot of having some experience with big pictures but not necessarily being a recognizable household name, strong dramatic chops but still more than capable of some charm and lightness. His biggest weakness is probably that he isn't necessarily handsome in the classical sense, but that was the case with Craig as well and he made it work with his performance.

One thing that I think works in Toby Kebbell's favour is how adept he is with motion capture performances. Such an underrated aspect of playing Bond is capturing the way he moves, and I think his experience with such physical performances could lend itself well to a character whose movement is such an important part of the performance.
