Anybody mentioned Jonathan Bailey? I know zilch about him but saw a few pics from Bridgerton and he seems to have the look. Otherwise no idea about his height, his voice, his skills. At 33 he'd be at the right age too.

Having watched a bit of Bridgerton, I think Bailey could do it, but I wouldn't think he's all that likely to get it. He ticks a lot of boxes, but doesn't knock any specific aspect out of the park, I would say. Although, if we go by - what sometimes seem to be - the most important characteristics: he's not too short, he has a good voice, is mostly clean shaven, has dark hair, looks like an adult and doesn't have a weak chin. So he's almost perfect.

I guess I'll have to watch Bridgerton.

Well, Hoagy was one classically handsome manly looking son of a gun. Miles ahead of most of the (effete) propositions on here.

Based on looks he'd get my vote right away

He's very plausible as a candidate. Also he has the exact hairline that Ian Fleming envisioned Bond having.

Whenever I see this Fleming imagining of Bond, out of all the Bond's it makes me think of Craig, specifically the scene in Casino Royale, were he offers Solange a lift home.
If you pause it and look at Daniel, the angle he's shot from and the way he's facing looks similar to this sketch of Bond. I wonder if that shot was designed purposely

Absolutely a candidate, but I do find his hairline distracting.

The way this thread is going off on Toby Kebell and Jack Bannon I am really starting to question the sanity of its contributors.

I am a better candidate. No jokez

Also discussing pre-cinematic character sketches and Hoagy for the 100th time is less relevant than head to head matchups of real actors.

Yes, I think I know what you mean from what I can recall of that scene. To be honest while I understand Craig's hair colour and cragginess was, at first glance, somewhat different from what we'd seen compared to other Bond actors, I remember saying as far back as 2006 that his casting wasn't necessarily all that different to Connery's in a sense. Again, neither have that more clean cut, traditionally handsome Hoagy Carmichael look, and both were a bit 'rough around the edges'. Still though, these actors and their likeness are pretty much synonymous with Bond now. I'd say the sketch isn't even a million miles away from Connery or Craig, especially their chins/mouths. No actor is ever going to be 100% accurate to Fleming's description anyway, neither are they necessarily going to look like Carmichael.

Your hairline is so far back you need binoculars to see it.

My profile picture is of Qazi Muhammad lol. I look more like Action-Man or Archer. Or so I’d like to think. :P

And you look like Jordan Peterson’s 50 year old hypothetical son.

I am 28 and will be completely bald within a year. Hurry up and cast me BB. After that the only roles I will be able to play is Blofeld and Mark Strong in a biopic about his life.

Just tell Babs to dig out Connery's toupee from EON's storage and dust it off. Problem solved.

Pahaha! Isnt it Debbie McWilliams that does the casting? Get your head shots in. Shave your head embrace your new look.

Right now I am managing it with a 10 inch combover hoping nobody will notice, or else Will Smith might smack them.

Speaking of baldness. Wouldn’t Zinedine Zidane have made a better Hitman (Agent 47) than Rupert Friend and Timothy Olyphant. I rarely say this about other men but he is absolutely gorgeous.

That settles it. The 53 year old actor who had barely been considered for the role and never showed any previous interest in it, doesn't want to do it and thus will never get the part. Who would have thought?

Bana is far from the front-runner however, as names like Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Rege-Jean Page, Henry Cavill, Richard Madden, Tom Hopper and James Norton dominate lists of potential Craig successors.
I like how they drop Tom Hopper's name in there like he's usually mentioned amongst those favourites! Maybe it's because Umbrella Academy s3 is dropping soon?

    They'd print anything these days.

I wonder when was Bana considered by anyone as Bond. No but seriously, his career hasn't been going too well these last few years (unfairly imo as he's a very capable actor), so I'm sure he must be happy someone is linking him with Bond, even if it's a ridiculous rumour.

I watched the new Death on the Nile the other night. Tom Bateman gets a bigger role in this one, and he's not bad at all. I'm not sure I can see him as Bond, though - he's a big, handsome guy, and you wouldn't want to have to fight him, but he comes across as a slightly dim rugby player rather than the cold, calculating assassin Bond sometimes has to be.

Yes I watched him in Jekyll & Hyde where he was the lead and I'm not sure I saw a Bond to be honest, decent though he is.
