Again, you insist on using Rotten Tomatoes as a basis for your argument. It has been said, time and time again, it is rather pointless to use such a website on a forum like this: we are hardcore Bond fans, our opinions and sentiments are a hundredfold more important than ANY review or the likes. Honestly, I question your place on this forum if RT and IMBD and yadda yadda are the only things you resort to.
"insult"? Well, one receives what one gives...
Kinda silly for you to question anyone's place on this forum. We all write in and discuss stuff. You presume that only Bond fans can OBJECTIVELY gage Bond films, and film critics are not capable of..doing their jobs?
You may not like my opinions, but I back them up with specific details when I do so.
Apology due to @M_Balje I think, Mr Graves! You did indeed write that you "really disliked" it.
I agree.
I thought the PTS was cringeworthy myself. Appallingly wooden acting. Amongst the worst PTS in the series. Real stunts replaced by god awful SFX.
No, it's perfectly reasonable to question your place on this forum. The vast majority of your posts is consistent, spam-like Moore bashing, with the occasional "LOL!" Thrown in for good measure. Mighty fine contributions to this forum, if I may say so.
And, no, you're putting words in my mouth (again). Film ratings are what they are, the opinion of somebody, and nothing more. Why do you use them as a basis of FACT?
And what are these "specific details" you speak of? You post half-arsed, meandering comments that give no insight or detail whatsoever. Oh, but I suppose posting the tomatometer of Bond films tells us all we need to know...
-Rotted Tomatoes HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
:))
Well, if you put it like that.....that....black-and-white, then I agree with you. But I don't put it like that. I use the rating sites merely as a democratic means that should be interpreted in a particular way. You have a "reviewer rating" on RT and a "people's rating". The first is for newspapers and other media, the latter can be voted for freely online.
But to say that a 5.7 is a totally unjust rating for DAD on RT, then those people need to check their sense of democracy. Also on this forum DAD is voted badly. And the Bond fans ratings in here are then also ridiculous? Anyone who LOVES DAD can do so. I respect that. But no matter how you interpret it.....you will be one of not so many who thinks DAD is a good Bond film.

Which of these 7 Bond films is actually the most "female friendly" one ;-)? I'm quite curious, because I have a feeling that Bond films with more emotional drama, deeper developed characters usually are slightly liked more by females. But I can be wrong off course.
A bit presumptuous to assume women are always drawn to love stories. I reckon there are as many women as men who just love a straight out Bond flick, with the thrills, spills, and love 'em and leave 'em mentality. Just as there are probably as many men as women who are genuinely connected to the films that feature a more central theme of love.
Of course. Opinions vary, what can I say? Just thought CR would be the one picked up by most of the females, or at least the ones that I met. Doesn't mean I don't have lady friends who don't appreciate a straight out Bond flick, as you mentioned.
;)

Don't let @TheWizardofIce see that list! He'll have a fit.
Any kind of discussion is most welcome as long as it doesn't turn into mockery.
You are absolutely right @RC7! Love story is not what I expect from a Bond film, unless it's CR or OHMSS and even then it's a special kind of love story.
Anyway, here is my ranking:
1 - SF - a great film and a great Bond. Incredible photography, amazing acting, memorable villain, incredible title song.
2 - QoS - I have defended it many times. If only some problems could be solved it would be a near perfect Bond film.
3 - TND - the film that rises higher every time I watch it. I quite like the story, Michelle Yeoh rocks, Dr Kaufmann is a truly memorable minor character, Surrender is an amazing song.
4 - CR - it might come as a surprise that I don't rate it very high, it's only because of some things that really bother me. Still, the cast does an incredible acting job, great soundtrack+title song+title sequence.
5 - GE - the first Bond I watched on the big screen, I have fond and vivid memories of that day. Nowadays, however, I see that it has a fair bit of problems (Trevelyan a Lienz cossack, really? Do the math). Still, amazing Bond girls, nice title song, an incredible set of villains and a film great enough to revive the franchise.
6 - TWINE - used to be one of my favourites back in the day but it quickly started sinking. It's a cheese fest! Sophie Marceau is great, however.
7 - DAD :-& the only good thing about it is that it ultimately caused the Bond franchise to get out of its stagnation. Other than that it makes me physically sick.
I agree. You are entitled to your opinion so therefore this is a very good list.
yeah, go back through my posts, they're much clearer and more in detail than you're representing. You simply don't like my opinions, and again, while I may disagree with yours, I don't need to insult you to continue expressing mine.
I agree this is silly, but for the most part, the critic ratings are consistent. Casablanca is still Casablanca, and COndorman is Condorman.
Great point.
And I see you have a good suit.
:D
It's c-risis-all with you @chrisisall :P
=))
If you think that, then that is just an insult to long-standing, respectable members of this community who post contributions that are insightful, essay-like and support their reasoning with valid, coherent evidence.
Your comments consistently, and purposefully, insight vitriol on Roger Moore in threads where the actor is not even concerned. They are deliberately provocative- you have stated your opinion many times, but it becomes spam when you do so in said threads.
