Stacy in space/earth's atmosphere is probably very close to the original intention.
Got to love a bit of Goozee.
That's right, but it would not have looked as good as this does, that's for sure.
True these days special effects have moved on tremendously, even with the advancements in CGI I still prefer practical where possible.
This baby..
That's actually very cute.
The harness work was very good during the lake scene.
It was too fast. Snyder didn't want to build things so quickly; the studios were hungry and wanted what Marvel had achieved, only faster and more intense ( ;-) ).
I was really disappointed when they killed off Gandalf in the first Lord Of The Rings movie. He really should have had a few solo movies first.
😉
Not the same, BvS is great though in a blink of an eye they go from The Dark Knight Returns to The Death of Superman., both graphic novels deserve seperate movies at the very least.
I also think the way Doomsday was done was horrible. It seems that WB can't let go of General Zod. They turned him into Doomsday, aka Zombie Zod. Then they bring him back in an alternate timeline, when one of The Flash's villains should have been used. Although Supergirl was great in her role. Doomsday is the one character that Zack Snyder could have been trusted to get right.
And if WB really wanted a rival to the MCU, they should have picked someone other than Zack, as he was already known to be polarizing in his projects. I heard that Matt Reeves was considered at one time, I think he would have been a better pick. I think WB is thinking that they should have hired him from the start, based on how The Batman turned out.
I know I'm repeating myself, but I think a Superman story like The Batman would help get Superman back in shape. Namely in the villain department. Superman does have a great rogues gallery, the movies have NEVER really taken advantage of them.
Superman from a cinematic viewpoint still hasn't recovered from Richard Donner and his crew's bad leavings.
I liked some of the DC movies though I am only one person, WB making The Flash was absolutely crazy, why make a film with an insane budget based around a series of films the majority of the audience no showed.
Other reviewers have pointed this out, DC/WB know what we want though they continually tease us with what we want and decide to give us something different usually involving a spin on a character like making Zod Doomsday.
Its not perfect though I would have preferred a version of the Death of Superman similar to the animated movie. I always wanted to see Doomsday wipe through the entire Justice League until there was only Superman left, you really have to build up to a clash of this magnitude.

Aquaman had a massive budget. It made over a billion dollars.
As for Superman, I feel that Metallo could have been used in Returns and BVS. He could have worked in their storylines. I know that Zack Snyder considered him, and based on how he treated other characters in the story (Doomsday and Jimmy Olsen in particular), it was probably for the best that he wasn’t used. I honestly think that Toyman should have played the part of villain instead of KGBeast. It would have been more interesting and unique. Rather than Zack Snyder using Russian stereotypes. He also would have worked in either Suicide Squad movie. I’m surprised the Christopher Reeve arguably never used him, as he could worked in one of the stories.
For Returns, Metallo could have a new way Lex Luthor could experiment with Kryptonite, with his wealth. And have him work on the Kryptonite island for future use. Alas, I have write my own Superman/Supergirl stories.
While a lot of people want Brainiac to be a villain in a movie, including me. I’ve noticed that he has been a villain in A LOT of video games. Not just a side villain, but as the main villain. That’s getting repetitive. I don’t know what to think or feel about this.
Actually, Roy Field contributed, as did others who did VFX work on the first Superman films, but Harrison Ellenshaw, who was a lovely guy, was put in charge. David Lane, who did a lot of 2nd Unit etc. of the first 2 Superman films, did 2nd Unit.
Agreed.Ezra Miller should never work as an actor in anything ever again because of what he did.
I agree, they were ok as the Flash. They were hard to watch though, considering what they did. It was hard at times to separate the art from the artist. But as for a comeback, there is little to no hope of that based on what they did and how much trouble they made repeatedly. To think, there was a time WB was considering him for Willy Wonka in Wonka! And Ezra "claims" to be non-binary, remember, that's why using "they" pronouns.
I feel bad for Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle. They both had their DC futures stolen by greedy executives and poor planning. They were the true highlights of the movie.
I agree with this.
Probably where I am too, although I am happy that Jones isn’t in movies anymore. They’re supposed to be entertainment after all.
I don't have too many problems with that, usually. I can shut down that part of me that is "aware" and enjoy the movie as it plays out. I continue to watch Kevin Spacey films and not cringe once. Same with Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, Victor Salva, ... To enjoy or appreciate their work is not to condone or justify their actions. I'm not a "cancel" person. As I've said countless times before, I wouldn't want to feed all the people in the music / movie / theatre / sports / ... business who have done wrong by others.
