    Has anyone ever seen The Brave One. with Jodi Foster? That's a pretty good remake of Death Wish as well.

    Death Wish was an example IMHO of a great concept, poorly executed. As with Dirty Harry , its a great action concept but has much deeper themes re the role of justice in society. The original were poorly made (although well cast) Michael Winner was no Don Siegel.

    I need to revisit the Death Wish films I was a big fan of Bronson in my youth he was great in films like Murphys Law, Great Escape, Magnificent Seven and one of my all time favourites Once Upon a Time in the West.

    I think I'll see if there is a Death Wish Bluray boxset, Michael Winner films are mad I forget how many of the Death Wish films he directed.

    That's how I first watched them. It was great. Death Wish 3 is still my favorite of the series.

    Can any gun nuts confirm if that's the same gun from Dirty Harry's 'Sudden Impact'? It looks like it is at a glance but I'm not sure

    Doing a quick check on IMFDB confirms they are not the same gun. But are very similar and equally badass. ;)

    Yep. The Punisher too, which I was really looking forward to. Hopefully the delay for that won’t be too long

    I saw it as them realizing it was foolish to drop something like this during a packed Thanksgiving season. One way or another I don't see it lighting up the box office, so I figure they're looking for the least amount of competition possible.

    I think the decision to push back the DEATH WISH release is certainly not in poor taste. Might be very wise indeed. America is still bleeding and an Eli Roth Death Wish isn't going to soothe anyone I think.

    Just as Death Wish VI was eventually cancelled, a couple of planned remakes were also cancelled before, first with Sylvester Stallone, then with Liam Neeson.

    I love Sly as much as the next man, but a Death Wish film with the premise he offered was going to be very cheesy. I’m glad it wasn’t made with him. Haven’t heard of the Liam Neeson one, though. But, he already has his Death Wish and that’s called Taken. Glad he didn’t make any. I’ll watch the Eli Roth film because it does look exciting. At least from my point of view.

    Funny that an implied sequel to the old series comes the same year as a remake. Haven t seen either, personally. Was never a DW fan.
