Hey, quick question, are they gravitating towards a more Casino Royale feel rather than Skyfall in Spectre? Thanks.

That's a good question. Based on the article, & the comments about going to Fleming, it's possible that we could have a lot of references & concepts from the books, particularly anything or anyone that has not been used before. Then they will add to it & make things up to move the plot along, like they did in CR. So it could be CR- like in that there may be a portion of the movie's plot that draws substantially from one of the novels.

The pace is likely to be closer to SF though, rather than CR that was quite slow in certain parts.

    That's my two cents.

OK, more good news. At the end of this clip, which is pretty much bla bla bla, Naomi reveals nevertheless, thgat she is gonna stay in Pinewood. Hell yes... ;)

Got to say I fully agree with you on this one @Germanlady As much as I like Harris as Moneypenny. I have no desire to see her playing sidekick to Bond in Spectre
If we can for as much as possible leave the Mi6 stock company in London, and leave Bond to do the actual spying and so forth the better.
Though it is possible that even though Naomi will be based in Pinewood. Our old friend CGI could place her in any locale.
I hope I'm wrong on the latter.

    ;)

Even IF, its rather a sure thing, she is NOT having a longer participation outside of her office IMO. Everything is possible, but it just doesn't ring true to me.
  • Thanks @bondjames, hopefully the action scenes in this movie are more extravagant like they did CR :).

Unless MI6 is attacked, again... we can possibly see Moneypenny in action?
    No, I wouldn't want that.

Yes but she went to Shanghai in SF (and her scènes for that were filmed at Pinewood)..so who knows maybe she is at another location in the film. But its shot at Pinewood.

  • Wonder if we Will get a clapper board Picture tomorrow to celebrate the first day of filming. Maybe they Will tease us with a bowl of cat food in the background

    Hi from Bond wiki

Though unused in the final cut of Quantum of Solace, a scene was shot where Bond arrived at the estate of Guy Haines, an advisor to the Prime Minister and Mr. White's co-conspirator in the Quantum organization. In this scene Bond kills Mr. White and begins to interrogate Haines about Quantum; instead the producers chose to use the traditional gunbarrel sequence at the end of the film instead of this scene. This deleted scene was withheld from the Quantum of Solace DVD releases and remains unseen by the public.

The final scene at the end of the Quantum of Solace video game shows Bond arriving outside Haines' estate. Inside Haines and Mr. White are shown to have access to the MI6 computer and its information regarding Quantum.

Marc Foster cut the scenes with Bond executing both, it may be that this footage is now used as way of Bond gathering Intel on the link between Qauntum and Spectre.

I found a few photos on instagram that might be from SP:

EDIT: they aren't, this is from another film. Why do they have those shirts? I guess they worked in SF.

Gary Powel favorited the photos and I saw those shirts. The licence plates in the cars were in arabic... Well, it's unrelated.

I hope they have a fantastic, great first day tomorrow. (And that one person, somewhere, steps in dog poop - I've heard that is good luck!) :D

Also - somebody, anybody (it won't be me) get ready to start a separate thread for clapperboards. I don't want them in this thread and I hope they are not put in the main production thread either as they are in themselves spoilers to a certain extent.

Yes, the stunt crew from SF put quite a few photos online once spoiler time was over.. they were actually one of the few ways to know who doubles for who :) Stunt doubles are still quite a touchy topic on Hollywood. Stuntmen have no Academy Award, it's incredibly unfair, even VFX have one now !

But ... wouldn't awarding stunts actually egg people on to do more and more dangerous stunts? At least subconsciously, I think it would.

There are stunt awards, but not by the Academy. And IMO the stuntmen are not the kind of people who will create danger just for the sake of having an award, frankly. It's as if the Academy still wanted the general public to believe what you see on screen is always the actor...

Here is the Facebook page of the 007 Stunt crew (no spoiler, they only post "old" photos)

Maybe there will be SPECTRE photos there... in two years.

I'm almost as happy about getting this confirmation that Christensen is going to be back as I am about the new title! Almost lol! Could it be that Quantum did not evolve into SPECTRE but that it is one of the branches/tentacles of SPECTRE? The Extortion side of the company (think about QOS). A lot of people complained about the small scale of the operation in Bolivia in QoS but wouldn't that make sense that it is a piece of the overall big picture of SPECTRE? Also while I'm on this tangent let me add this little nugget: wouldn't it be cool if Silva was over the Counter-Intelligence section of SPECTRE? Like in FRWL we had them referencing Bond eliminating one of their operatives, Dr. No, well wouldn't it be cool if they referenced Silva in SP?

    Spectre will not
Thanks for that link - I really enjoyed watching the interview with Gary Powell. :)

I can definitely see this, a scene where Bond drives into water and thinks he's dead, when the car comes alive. And he smirks like, "Q you cheeky f**ker."

My friend has discovered that Roisin Carty is the dialogue coach for Léa Seydoux who was also the same dialogue coach for Eva Green in Casino Royale and Penny Dreadful.

Is Madeleine Swann - the 'Miranda Frost' casting call and English? :D

(if so, this means that her role was not re-written to fit her French nationality as Baz reported unless they are coaching her for a Scandinavian accent :P - her accent is less American and more British in her recent interviews)

It also means she won't play a mute henchwoman :)
Btw, in the post-photocall interview, she felt incredibly relaxed in the interview where she spoke French, she was very different from her English ones. If something slips in her interviews in the year to come, it may happen most likely in her French ones :)
