Not in the same league but never a big fan of TB or TMWTGG either.
Absolutely agree.
Well, I thought Arnold did an excellent job wit Surrender, which should have been the title track on TND, but the TWINE song is dire.
PS its quite easy to imagine Dame Shirley doing TWINE, she would have transformed it IMHO, its a good song (not a classic) but let down by the execution. In reverse, imagine SC doing DAF!
Quite. The TWINE song is a warbly, forgettable piece of puff. Shirley could imbue reading out a shopping list with majesty and drama though.
I dunno. At least Madge's effort is vaguely memorable. Both pretty awful though, in fairness.
Such a shame, given the number of great acts around in the 90s and early 2000s who could have really nailed it.
IMO, AWTD is the best of the recent efforts. I think Arnold did a great job there. Beautiful title credits sequence as well of course. I think one of my favourites of the entire series.

Surrender was a better theme and should have been used instead though.
Glad to see Arnold hit it out the park when he collaborated with an artist again (YNMN)
Cornell's song blows the Garbage collaboration out the water.
I agree that the song itself is underrated but also feel that Crow was out of her element/league in performing it; her voice is a bit thin at times. A more powerful vocal, Ann Wilson of Heart for example, would have greatly enhanced this tune.
Agree that Poetishead would have been perfect back in the day. But EON were just happy to churn out dreck during the 90s. Those films are all just massive missed opportunities when you think about the music that was around, the fashion and the architecture. Only TND and the Bilbao section of TWINE come close to 'getting' that 90s vibe. They could have been stylish but mainly feel like one long 80s hangover.
Love the Casino Royale theme by Cornell too. Great melody. Very rock and firm (a bit in the spirit of Live And Let Die). From From Russia till GoldenEye I like all the themes.
With TND I don't like Sheryl but do like K.D. Lang with Surrender.
Garbage was actually a little bit garbage, and didn't care for Madonna. Jack White and Alicia Keys thought it sounded like The Man With The Golden Gun era sound by Barry.
It's not great but it is a nice hommage to the old school Barry-esque sound.
Maybe not the style of music suitable for Bond but the voice is pretty good IMO.

What's this bollocks about Aidan Turner being the next Bond?

Give the job to Hosier, Take Me To Church sounds quite Bondian, anything but Sam Smith please!
If U2 could channel the vibe on Volcano or Raised By Wolves 2 of the best tracks from their new superb and much undervalued album I say give them the gig, they are global superstars and GE was a great tune.
Again, it's just betting odds, and he is popular right now - He's brilliant in Poldark and from what I've seen on social media, he's definitely a hit with the ladies. I think he could pull off playing Bond. But, as I've said, this is nothing definitive.
Agreed. Everything suggests it will be him. The article mentions that they're not sure whether it's a done deal, or if they've simply begun negotiations. Well, as we know, it's been a done deal for some time. In terms of profile and reach EON simply want the next Adele and that happens to be Sam Smith at this moment in time.
