I think because we have early teasers etc, the behind the scenes stuff is being staggered. Looking at the Behind the Scenes videos of the Hobbit (which I also followed production of) They were very periodic on their production videos too.
We were luck with Skyfall that they gave us so much so regularly .
Also, since this is the leaks thread, I can say that from some mails one can guess that at one point Sony hoped to cut costs on the marketing too because of the budget of the movie at that time. It was before EON agreed to remove some sets and shorten some scenes though, before the change to have Mexico money, etc... so now no one knows what they have decided.
About the marketing, well, they proposed to not use Craig, but Wishaw instead, as the main face for the Sony marketing tied-in with SPECTRE. Then they wouldn't have to pay the Craig paycheck (reportedly $5M if I remember well)
Because Heineken features very prominently in the script ! It is with an Heineken bottle that Bond solves the mystery at l'Americain.
The difference between the two possible British release dates is two weeks. When it comes to marketing, it doesn't really matter at this point whether the movie will be released in the last week of October, or the first week of November. They will know the exact release date long before October.
Ok. See, I completely forgot about that. Which perfectly illustrates how unremarkable the screenplay is. :bz
Mexican Bond girl: She seemed to be mexican in the October Draft
Non-Mexican assassin: He was Italian in the October Draft
The only difference I can see between the two drafts is, one target is a governor, the other is an ambassador.
He chugs one down whilst interrogating a mouse in Morrocco.
If anyone here are Batman fans, they had a popular run in 2011 regarding The Court of Owls. A masked, secret organisation.
Here is a screenshot from the recently released DC Animated movie Batman Vs. Robin:-
Perhaps the producers didn't want anyone saying they were copying Batman, so they removed the masks.
Just a theory.
The scenic ruins don't figure in the screenplay.
How and when? The first location of the movie is Mexico, and there isn't any Mexican location in the screenplay, other than the capital city itself.
Well don't forget that the video surveillance theme will feature a lot in the movie (it may be even "hammered"...). So IMO the use of masks was also in this theme : nowadays, it is important to hide your identity from cameras etc.
I think that this screenplay is a possibly good screenplay (but very disrespectful of Fleming : M as a traitor) with a lot of patches on it now. The biggest patch, I think, is C.
Yes, and furthermore we already know the scene numbers on the clapperboards are not always those of the last leaked script...
According to what Mendes said, there's most probably a Gunbarrel at the beginning of Skyfall screenplay, and we know what happened.
Why is the idea of M being a traitor "very disrespectful" above other ideas that have been put on screen over the years? He's a different M than Fleming's M. Fleming didn't envision a female M, was Judi Dench's casting disrespectful?
If it had been Bernard Lee's portrayal of M that turned out to be a traitor, then that may have been seen as disrespectful, as he was playing Fleming's M (Sir Miles Messervy), Fiennes M is Gareth Mallory.
I don't like the idea, though it's an interesting concept, because it would contradict some of his actions in Skyfall, but I don't think it's disrespectful.
The M as traitor is just disasterous, and a total waste of Fiennes. Thank god he vetoed it.
RE: the ruins. It's possible we see Bond fly over it as the last shot of the PTS, which shows Bond flying the chopper out into the sunset.
Filmmaking may be fluid, but from what we have seen, the filming is following both December outline and script.
