No. The lollipop seconds hand is different from the usual SMP seconds hand. This time around it's an actual lollipop without the red tip just like the Spectre. Look again.
Ah ok. I just saw this response. Glad you saw it :)>-
All Bonds disagree, except Brozza… XD
And don’t underestimate the comfort that comes with the titanium: it’s like wearing an Apple Watch 4 times harder than steel…
P.S. The white gold one costs like £140K… who spends this money for an Omega?
I'll take that, considering the GoldenEye watch has yet to be bettered as far as I'm concerned. For what it's worth, Connery's Rolex didn't have a vintage colour palette either! ;) I just can't get on board with that style.
I'd happily take a black watch face as a second option though, and I have!
It's a shame I don't really like the Brosnan one, because they're not too pricey to pick up, unlike all the other ones!
No love for Craig's Casino Royale SMP? It's very close to the 2531.80 but with some modern touches in detail such as the applied logos and hour markers ;)
Also very nice. Much nicer than the Planet Ocean versions, I think.
I suppose these are maybe more elegant, but I'll take the Planet Oceans any day. The Skyfall one I think is my favourite:
Definitely my holy grail.
I tried it on back then when Omega still had it available, it was really thick and heavy. I understood then why Craig had a specially made version for him made in titanium for filming, but made to look like the steel version they had for sale at the time.
I can definitely see why you and likely others would prefer the non-007 screen worn version; I'm like that with most other Bond things (I'll take a Riviera Polo, Rag & Bone Henley, etc. over anything with Bond insignia on it), but in this case I'd go for the special edition; I also like the dial pattern and everything else.
I've seen some photos of it and it does look enormously thick and probably very heavy. I don't know, I still think it's the one for me. ;)
That Skyfall edition PO dial is based on the grille of the Aston Martin I believe. An interesting tribute to the car. Yeah I tried on the regular model back in 2012 while getting the Casino Royale SMP 2220.80. I immediately noticed the weight. Crazy heavy imo. I've not tried their current Planet Ocean range they have available but I'm guessing they're all just as heavy as well. The Planet Ocean range are notorious for its thickness and weight.
LOL. The Planet Ocean I'd really want though is the one he wore in Quantum of Solace. Model ref 2201.50. Classic piece now.
:))
Nice, I think David Zaritsky just did a video on this watch:
Yup that's the one.
I got the Mission to Saturn one. So far I am a happy customer.
My watch for 15 years now. Simply the best.
Prototype Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project.
The very first "Alaska Project" Omega watch.
Speedmaster Alaska Project Prototype in red heat shield case.
Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch Mission to Mars.
It goes happily into my little collection of 007 homage watches, although no gadgets or saw blades on this one! :D
It is a ridiculously *close* homage, but I am tempted for the same reasons as yourself.
You should get a seatbelt nato for the spectre homage xD
Oh, and Bark & Jack do a very nice NTTD NATO for the Nomi style.
The Watchdives NTTD did actually come with the Nomi NATO in the box as well; I haven't tried it on that yet as I'm not keen, but I would imagine that it would be incredibly comfortable on it. The titanium case means it weighs almost nothing, it's lovely. Thank you for the Bark & Jack recommendation though.
If there's two things it misses about the original, and they're things I really like about the original, it's that the bezel and dial could be a touch browner, and it doesn't have that lovely vintage-style top hat, domed crystal. There's a bit of dome there, but nothing like the almost bubble style of the real thing.
