    Guilty as charged. My PO and Spectre 300 was a fake. But i assure you my Omega Co-axial SMP and quartz Aqua Terra pictured above in my previous post isn't, both of which are genuine. I was naive and didn't think then when I posted pics of my fake watch in that watch forum. Never again will I show a fake watch and pass it off as a genuine. Bad move on my part.

    Omega's offerings at this year's Basel are weak. Nothing exciting to show and there's no way Bond will be wearing the "big blue". I laughed when I saw the new AT. All they've done is made the vertical lines horizontal and moves the date window from 3 to 6.

    They introduced a new Seamaster 300, a new Speedmaster and a new Railmaster as part of a limited edition 'trilogy' yesterday. All not bad & they are a more respectable 38-39mm. The Speedy does look good. I can see Bond with one of these.

    I'm trying to get my hands on a mid 00's 39mm Railmaster. I used to have one and sold it. One of my big regrets. Lovely watch and built before they started getting overly thick.

    I think as long as Bond is wearing an Omega he'll be wearing any of the Seamaster variants. That being said the new sm300 looks very close to the original and I'd have to see it in person to get a full feel on if I like it or not but first impressions right now is, I'm not liking what I see.

    Yes, you're probably right on him continuing with a Seamaster. I am happy that they seem to be trimming the watch faces down to a more respectable size again. The faux patina isn't to my liking here, but I suppose they wanted to evoke the originals as closely as possible.

    I'm looking forward to seeing these in the flesh and trying them on.

    I really love the Railmaster. Glad to see the sizes going down, I think the big watch fad is dying down a bit.

    I think the new AT looks more like lined elementary school paper, minus to color, than teak paneling, especially the white face. Not a fan of the date being moved to 6 o' clock either. I used to want an AT, but not anymore.

    I was hoping for an anti-magnetic Seamaster diver to be announced, but alas....

    Omega hitting the ball park with their unveiling of watches at Baselworld! Their Railmaster releases, both the LE and non-LE models look brilliant. Not too sure about the new AT though. I don't mind the date being at 6 o'clock, but its gonna take a while to get used to the horizontal teak pattern on the dial. Not sure about the Planet Ocean "Big Blue", but I definitely see the new blue AT as one of Bond's future watch..

    There are rare occasions in life when one is given an opportunity to correct an error. In these situations, it has been my experience that one must seize the moment & move decisively without hesitation. Such a scenario presented itself to me recently, when I came across a pristine 39.2mm high serial number Railmaster. I used to have this classic a few years back and sold it. I have regretted the decision ever since. So when I saw this, I just had to have it. The elegant design simplicity of the 3 6 9 12 markers and luminous dial were too much to resist. I had to sell my AT Skyfall to fund this purchase, and I have no regrets. The SF is a superb watch, and more functional with the date feature, but the Railmaster is a far simpler and less blingy piece, and imho rivals the Explorer for dial perfection.

    Here it is, next to my trusted Sub. These are keepers. Sir Rog and Barbara approve and say hello.

    Congratulations on getting your watch back. There's no better feeling than ridding yourself of something so loved and then getting it back. Really happy for you, mate. Interestingly enough, I want to get back the SF AT.

    Thanks. I love the SF AT. It's a great watch and the 3d detail on the teck dial is amazing. However, having had both, I do prefer the Railmaster for me because it's more of a tool watch & sits much flatter on the wrist. It's only 0.7mm larger, but the way the dial goes all the way to the edge without a crown guard combined with the much slimmer profile makes it hug my wrist better. Additionally, the watch is much lighter and similar in weight to my Sub. The AT SF was heavier, although nowhere near as heavy as the Planet Ocean I used to have. That thing was a brick!

    EDIT: Another thing that motivated my decision is the lug width. I like to switch an AT out on a strap from time to time (including a NATO), and I find there is far more choice for the Railmaster due to the 20mm lug width vs. the 19mm on the AT SF. I've custom ordered a strap from the Far East (OEM specs) and have ordered a deployant. I will post a photo once I get it.

    Yes, please do; can't wait to see it. The railmaster is a fantastic watch and you're absolutely right about the weight and dimensions. Omega know how to make some really fantastic pieces when they're not flooding the market with their gimmicky cash grabs.

    I'm not sure if many know this, but Omega released another version of the Railmaster this year (in addition to the 1957 LE). It's a more tool like version with a 40mm (as opposed to 38mm) dial, brushed (as opposed to polished) centre links, twisted (as opposed to straight) lugs, and a matt dial. It also has a cross hair dial with a pronounced minute track, both of which have upset some purists. I believe this version will continue in production for some time, unlike the LE, which they will discontinue after they run out. It may be a case of them making too many versions of their watches again, but this one takes some getting used to.

    @bondjames You got rid of your Skyfall AT, while I'm already in the process of saving up for it.. Hoping to finally get one preowned at a good price once I'm ready.

    I love the new non-LE Railmaster. Especially this one because I do need a lighter coloured watch in my collection. Might be next after I've acquired the Skyfall AT >>>

    Yes @imranbecks, unfortunately I couldn't justify keeping both the Skyfall AT & the Railmaster. It's been a few weeks now and I'm completely satisfied with my decision though. The Railmaster is a keeper.

    I hope you can find an SF-AT at a decent price. I think it should be possible, since Omega is now pushing the Master Co-Axial movement and have even changed the design of the AT with the horizontal slats & the new 6 o'clock date window. So prices of the older line should come down with time.

    I'm not entirely sold on the non-LE Railmaster personally (mainly due to the crosshairs, but also because of the minute track) but I like the tool nature of it. I'm not sure if I completely like the LE version either (due to the polished links and faux patina which make it look a little too blingy imho). A combination of the two would be near perfect to me however.

    Actually...I kinda like the matte dial and the crosshairs. It's got this retro thing going on that I dig. I'll have to check it out in person some day.

    I hope you're correct about those AT Skyfalls. I'd love to have one!

    Showing love for the SMP 2220.80 as worn by Daniel Craig in his first outing as 007 in Casino Royale. Still perhaps the best of all the Craig Bond movies and maybe of the entire Bond series...

    Taking any advice for first Omega purchase-Brosnan era Seamaster from Watchfinder, new Seamaster from the AD, or Craig Spectre Seamaster 300 from grey market/Amazon?

    Pulled the trigger at the AD for a new Seamaster. I was torn between vintage and the new shiny and opted to get something whose history would be all my own. I'm so happy with it right now! I've wanted one since Goldeneye, so it's a dream come true!

    Waves are back! Not sure how I feel about the date being moved to 6 o'clock. Takes away from the Bond feeling of the older SMP. Clear caseback and is master coaxial, too!
