DC is definitely looking older in these shots compared to CR, but he is ageing very well. He's not as beefy as he was then and doesn't fill out his suits as much. Personally I think that's a good thing.

When we look back on his run, he will definitely seem younger in CR compared to when he signs off due to the change in build, and that will help to add credibility to his youth and rookie status in the first film.

Indeed, when I saw this suit I thought he didn't look nearly as bulky as he did previously.

Nope, it is badly cut. Ask a tailor.

You think the costume designers and wardrobe dept would actually put him in clothing that didn't fit?

    I'm afraid they would.
They have been very misguided with Bond's formal wardrobe throughout and I think it's for three reasons.
Firstly, they have elected to follow this 'Mad Men' fashion for badly cut fashion suits or, as the great @villieurs53 describes them; " the honey I shrunk the kids Pee-wee Herman look". This is a huge mistake as Bond should be all about understated classicism and, in my opinion, the Craig Bond wardrobe is already dating very badly.
Secondly, although I think Danny is a good actor, I don't think he is a style icon and I think his dodgy personal taste has adversely affected wardrobe choices.
When I see photos of him on the street there is no way he has the innate sense of personal style of say a Steve McQueen or a Carry Grant. He often dresses way too young for his age and makes some bad choices.
Last, but by no means least, Bond is a quintessentially British hero and it makes sense to go to 'The Row' to dress him. This is the bastion of English style and they know how to do it.

But that's just it. It's a matter of personal taste. Tighter fitting suits and slimmer styles are, in fact, the style, especially in Europe. From that standpoint, Bond's (DC's) clothing choices are perfectly fine.

As a fashion icon, DC is hit and miss. But he gets it right more often than wrong:

    skyfall-craig-suit-800x800.jpg

    daniel-craig-casual-look.jpg

This is interesting because the three photos illustrate my point perfectly:

photo one: the trousers are way too long and the colour palette is contrived.

Photo two: the suit is way too tight and again the colour palette is wrong.

Photo three: Sorry but he looks like 'Bob the builder'

    I rest my case.

Photo 3: can't he wear whatever he wants when not on set? He plays James Bond that doesn't mean he's James Bond. His acting skills are what matters not his personal tastes. Beside I studied acting and spent a lot of time hanging out with actors. They mostly dress sloppy.

Nah. Right eyelid is drooping; you can now see the liver spots (aging spots) on his forehead. But these aren't complaints: I like that he's looking a little older.

This is from the German premiere of CR. There really isn't much difference other than a bit of weight loss and change in hairstyle. The eyelid and spots on his forehead are still there.

Sony has launched today the new phone Xperia Z5.
Do you think Daniel Craig will use it in SPECTRE ?

No Dan and Sam refused to use a Sony phone to their bemusement. Arguing Bond would use the best and Sony is not the best in mobile phones. In sony leaked emails.

I bet Sony offered enough incentives for them to feature their products in the end. Though if you notice in the trailer, Q's computer is covered in stickers to hide the logo.

Would someone do me a kindness and post that picture of Bond and Swann in Morocco, the shot where he is in that brown jacket, I believe? I don't want to go through all of the pages, so if someone has it handy and wouldn't mind reposting it, I'd appreciate it. It might be one of my favorite outfits I've seen in the Bond series, Craig really pulls it off.

Bond definitely has the most eclectic wardrobe in this film out of all 24 in the series.

    You're welcome!
I agree, great look for both of them.
Not exactly sure what he wears under the jacket, is it a polo shirt or a regular one?

That's a good question. The collar area looks pretty low cut in the front to be a polo, but it could just be the angle we're seeing at.

No they didn't. There were some mail exchanges, and press as usual only reported the "scoop" ones. He will use it

Nice to see lots of Brown's in Craig's wardrobe in SPECTRE. I've noticed he wears lots Black and Dark Blue clothes in his previous films.

Sony Stopped making Vaio's over a year ago after they left the laptop market. The emails showed that they were willing to pay Daniel a couple of million just to be seen to be holding the phone, Mendes/Craig declined saying no because Bond would not use a Sony phone he would use the best. Sony then sent a cheeky email saying lets not use Dan and asked if Q could be seen using their phone in the film for a lesser amount of money. Apparently this blew up in to a big argument at the time.

Sony Mobile offered the actor $5 million to use one of their phones in Spectre but Craig turned it down because he wanted Bond to use the ‘best’. Ouch.

Leaked emails from last year’s Sony hack reveal that the company was dealt a crushing blow from Andrew Gumpert, President of Worldwide Business Affairs and Operations for Columbia Pictures.

He wrote: ”BEYOND the $$ factor, there is, as you may know, a CREATIVE factor whereby Sam and Daniel don’t like the Sony phone for the film (the thinking, subjectively/objectively is that James Bond only uses the ‘best,’ and in their minds, the Sony phone is not the ‘best’).’

An email from George Leon, Sony’s executive vice president of consumer marketing, reveal that Craig, director Sam Mendes and producer Barbara Broccoli met to talk about the deal which have included $18 million for marketing while an extra $5 million would have gone to Craig.

movie bosses negotiating a new deal for the next Bond film tried to cut the actor out to save cash, writing “NO Daniel this time”.

It led to Bond producer Barbara Broccoli wanting an “additional placement fee” from Sony “for putting the phone in”, marketing boss George Leon wrote to Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal in an email.

After detailing how much Sony paid for their phone to appear in Skyfall and how much was budgeted for Spectre.

He added: “What if we take the Daniel Craig fee and convince Sony just to pay Barbara directly [£2.7million] for a placement fee. NO Daniel this time. We walk from him.”

Leon then suggests using the remainder of the budget – “or less!” – to use the film’s character Q in the deal instead.

Great but every other photo taken of the man this year without the touch up of magazine magic proves my point. The SP press announcement, the spy pics taken from bystanders watching filming. He's changed very little.

Anyway, with the new poster of Bond in his dinner suit, wanted to look at the dinner suits of his era thus far and see which looks best...

you're in denial, Craig looks aged and in some photos downright awful.

We'll have to see the movie to make the final judgement.

I'm not in denial. I never once said he hasn't aged. CR was 9 years ago of course he's aged but he essentially looks the same as opposed to there being a drastic change by how much he's aged. Also, Craig isn't the most photogenic guy, there are pics dating back to before CR where he's had awful looking pics taken, again it's nothing new.

True, he is not photogenic OR he gets to work with photographer's that are not really good.
That's why I said we have to wait for the movie.
But be it as it may, he has aged as you said, if one sees that as good aging or not so good aging is a matter of opinion.
I found him to have aged badly in Skyfall, but as many have stated that was intentional for the movie, which I don't really believe but I accept it.

In SF he was made to look somewhat terrible and burned out and his look was punctuated with the short hair cut that added to his off-kilter look. I stood feet away from him at the Royal Premiere and he looked noticeably different, younger, compared to how he looked in SF.
