I hope all the future DVD releases will include deleted scenes. I watched a great many of them on Youtube, like the ones from AVTAK, DAF, TND, and LTK, since many of my Special Edition DVDs don't include them.
As Diamonds Are Forever has deleted scenes out on it's DVD release, the following films should have there's dug out from the archive. The early films may even have some.

I bet EON has a wealth of material stored in their volts.

@Samuel001: Unfortunately, I have Diamonds Are Forever on Ultimate Edition Single Disc, so no deleted scenes for me.

I hope that FOX/MGM releases the remaining 9 blu-ray movies in a volume or volumes packaged similar to the first 3 volumes for those of us that already purchased all the Bond movies already released on BR disk. I think we have spent enough money on the already released movies already , we shouldn't have to purchase the complete series again!

don't people miss the days when you could get Bond on VHS :-S

I guess we have to move with the times though, Die Another Day was the last bond release to be got on cassette

I have the Casino Royale single disc edition, no added extras, nothing, but I don't mind, I saw the movie and was content enough, got other Bonds with extra discs such as LTK and OHMSS that offer plenty of extras, I just put the film on and watch it, simples.

I hope the new DVD's will have some really unique cover art, like the Ultimate Edition DVD's have. Not that it matters as much, but it would look really cool if they came up with something great! Have the Bond for that movie in the center, maybe using a weapon or gadget from that movie, with the main villain behind him, the henchman on his left, and the girl on his right, with some background scenery that was most important in the movie. Anyway, that's my hope!

By the way, has anyone noticed that on the Ultimate Edition DVD's, the little symbol in the bottom middle on the front cover has inside of it something pertaining to that film? For instance, on the DAF UE DVD, a small diamond can be seen in the middle of the logo. Also, on the GE UE, the Russian tank that Bond drove can be seen, and TSWLM shows a little picture of Atlantis.

It will take a lot for me to be persuaded to change from my SE DVD's .
If they put a lot of the deleted scenes and screen tests etc then i might.
I know some of the UE's had these but the quality of the UE's were not as good as the SE's IMO.

Yes indeed barry, rock on with the Special Editions! \m/ That's the majority of my Bond DVD collection, with the exceptions of FRWL, YOLT, OHMSS, DAF, DAD, CR, and QoS. However, the last three did not have SE's available.

I hope they include OHMSS with the Blu-Ray issue. The scenery, action, etc are just too good to be ignored. Give this cult classic Bond the respect it deserves.

Every film will be released so no need to worry.

Does anyone know when MGM will be releasing a Vol. 4 and Vol. 5 of Bond movies on Blu-Ray? There's only a small selection right now, and the majority aren't great. We get choices of Die Another Day, For Your Eyes Only, Live And Let Die, Moonraker (and more), and they aren't the greatest of the greats. I was hoping we'd have more out for the Christmas season, but I've heard nothing yet.

I'm dying to have OHMSS, TSWLM and GoldenEye on Blu-Ray. They're great movies.

Does anyone have any info/predictions on when we might be seeing them?
  • I've been wanting TLD to be released on blu-ray myself. If not Christmas, I think it would be a safe bet to expect some new blu-ray releases when Skyfall is released, it being the 50th anniversary of the legacy of Bond in film. That would be my guess.

It's Q4 of 2012 as far as we know. This will also mean new editions of all the films even those released. Don't expect a Volume 4 of the old sets with the same style or covers.

It can be discussed here: http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/discussion/1066/

I think those of that collected the original 3 blu-ray volume sets will benefit from these sets being collectables. These were the original blu-ray Bond releases with original packing. There is something to be said for hanging on to these. As for the remaining 9, I am sure we will be able to buy them individually. It didn't take long for the first batch to turn up as individual buys. Hang on to your original releases and packaging. These will have collectable value down the road.
  • 2012 we buy them all on blu ray 2013 blu ray format is scrapped.

Blu Ray will be the last conventional disc - or hard copy method of purchasing videos or movies i believe.. because everything now is being geared towards cloud storage, and streaming online.. which, i do admit, I like to stream films now.. but with movies that I actually care about, i'll still go out an buy the DVDs or Blu Rays.

@haserot, the problem with everything being digital is the fact that (unless there is a way around this) if something happened with an account or a computer, you would lose everything. Sure, you could back your items up, but all it would take is a simple mistake with your computer and you have lost everything stored on it, where with blu-rays/DVDs, they are always there, and it's an easy fix if you break/misplace one.

I hope I don't see a fully digital home media period in my life.

^ And besides due to the CRAP loading speed HD is not HD, its more like High Quality SD.

I reckon they may use USB in the future or something like that. Sticks that you insert which contain all the info on and you watch from that. Minimal storage space required and the whole experience will be more interactive, touch screen moments where you can interact with the film, just an idea.

I am all for a change from the ultimate edition format which they just Transferred to blu ray...lazy. Far too generic. Let's see a return to making each film feel individual and special!!!

I really must say that I fancy the following coverart using the original posters:

^WOW!! I love these. I will be very disappointed if posters are not a feature on the upcoming set. Nice find Zekidk.
  • My dream extras. 1 on 1 with Sean Connery 60 mins on BOND(EON would have to make a considerably large donation to a Charity of Seans choice), Roger Moore comments on each Bond Film for 5 mins which with his gentle humour making a fun extra. Lazenby/Dalton/Brosnan commentaries for each of their Films. The ultimate dream would be JAMES BOND ROUNDTABLE, A 2 hour chat hosted by Micheal G. with Sean,George,Roger,Tim,Pierce and Dan. How amazing would that be? Segment ends with them Individually doing the line "Bond....James Bond" cue John Barry and the ending to the greatest extra known to man. More men have walked on the moon than have played Bond, What a historical document it would be.

Well I won't be buying them again, I'll upgrade to blueray when I get my own place and have to buy a new tv etc. Specials features, they need to get a commentary of Bond actors for every film, which would be great but I really can't see it happening

Just hope EON re-release QOS with the alternate ending with Bond confronting Haines and White plus a commentary with Marc Forster apologising for his mistakes!

@LeChiffre, what ever happened with that? Why have we yet to see it, three years later? I've been really interested in seeing it, and I hope it is re-released next year. I'm really looking forward to getting GE on blu-ray, after all these years.

Since Sony has become part of Bond, we get the 'proper' release of the latest film just before the new one comes out. It happened with Casino Royale and will be the case again next year.
  • how much do these DVD cost? I might want to buy it? around 40-50$ american?
