    any chance NSNA will be re-rereleased in special edition dvd form in the UK. I know it's not an EOn film but as it's still Bond I would have thought the powers that be would do something with it.

    I doubt it. A Blu-ray released in the USA may come out in the UK soon, that's got a good few more extras on it, that's something at least.

    Do you think the dvds will have new/updated documenteries, eg, the documenary about the james bond title sequences stops at twine. U think itl b updated to include the new films?

    I'd say not. EON don't seem invested in adding totally new content. We only get a one hour documentary too. One they've been hyping. Should be at least 2 1/2. It's 50 years of content after all.

    What, the NSNA blu-ray is North America only? That's too bad. Its got some great commentaries on it.

    Yes. It's a shame as I'd love to hear Kershner's commentary, especially as it was recored about only a year before his died. What did he make of the film looking back?

    We also did not get the separate releases of The Man With The Golden Gun or Licence To Kill in the UK. We get the 1967 Casino Royale in August though!

    Kershner's commentary is very frank and honest. He doesn't hold back. He allows that getting this film made was a real chore. Producer Schwartzman was largely absent as he had to fight Eon in court on almost a daily basis. Kersh says Sean was a huge help though. He basically says without Sean's professional approach, the whole thing might have fallen apart. Sean knew the project faced big challenges and as the main man, he stepped up and helped make sure the project got done as well as it could, under the circumstances. It's a very interesting commentary.

    As for the 50th anniversary blu-rays, Amazon Canada hasn't even got them listed yet for advance sale.
    I've advance ordered CR67 blu-ray though. We get it next month. $15.00 - not a bad price for new blu-ray.
    I am looking forward to this release (CR67) Even though it's a dumb movie, it should look real good in hi-def - lots of colour and of course all those swinging 60's Bond-girls.

    Thanks for the information. I'll have to dig it out now. I would have never believed Connery was the one pushing the whole thing to the finish line, especially, when years later he said it was "like working in a toilet".

    It probably was. You'll have to listen for yourself. Kersh might have been simply kissing up to Sean after the fact, or just as likely Sean was determined to get the thing done as well as possible and move on. It was too late to bail. Better to make the best of it.
    All told I think it turned out pretty good. I like watching it,but it doesn't boast the same energetic Bond-vibe that an Eon film does, but still it works as an alternative Bond film and it does have Sean being his usual awesome self, even if his performance is a tad restrained.
    I'll take NSNA over QoS though, which IMO is the other alternative Bond film.

    Just ordered the 50th Anniversary box-set. Can't wait for it to be shipped, to bad it's like 9/10 months until it's released. Good price, £95 for everything including delivery to Sweden.

    Amazon Canada now has the "Bond 50" blu-ray set listed for advance order at $199.99, which is quite a good price - 22 blu-ray at $9.09 a pop. However for those of us that already own 13 of the 22 titles, it will cost us $22.22 for each of the 9 unreleased titles, with the other 13 thrown in, which is rather pricey. However there are the intriguing new extras, such as as the "never-before-seen content from the Bond archives" and the "one disc of brand new bonus content approximately one hour in length."

    Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions. To plunge or wait for the inevitable single releases of the 9 new titles.

    Shouldn't this set have a spare gap for Skyfall? Surely to be an accurate 50th anniversary boxset as it is within the 50 years it should be included.

    Anyway I've took the plunge £89.99 is too much of a bargain for 22 films despite the fact that I might not watch some of these, I figured I want about 10 of them and when they go on separate sale I'd probably end up paying over that so why not.

    I've sold all my Bond blu's apart from CR Spec Ed.

    He's getting his due at least.

    What?!!!!!! No way, 79, that's not fear. I really didn't expect this and am glad his work will be recognised but it's too late, if only he could have lived for a few more weeks. Though I suppose in life, you could always say that about something.

    RIP Mr. Lowry and thank you for you and your team's work on the Bond films.

    and all I can say is that I sure hope they have different packaging for the 50th Anniversary collection otherwise I'll be extemely disappointed as I've decided to get these when they come out. (I'm going to buy a portable Sony blue ray DVD player to play them on as I wanted to be able to play them on my laptop aswell which isn't blue ray and I refuse to buy another one just for this.) The horrible gold gun barrel and the 007 logo takes up most of the space! :( With my luck they'll be the same. Packaging like this would be better, where the picture takes up most of the cover:

    There is a chance we get new covers and being an anniversary they will play into the '50 years' occasion, I think a bit more than they would have otherwise.

    In the months to come, all will have to be revealed.

    You know, if we don't get new covers, I'm really not sure if I'll buy them. Presentation is quite important to me. This might be a sad thing to say as it's the quality of the film that really counts (which will be of a very high standard) not the covers, but there it is...

    I'm still hoping for an " Deluxe Edition " for QoS like we had with CR, that's really everything that matters for me...
