On Tuesday evening in Rome, where she was feted with the Virna Lisi lifetime achievement award, Bellucci smiled at reporters who asked her to comment on the rumors, telling them: “I can’t say anything.”
And a very fair and honest opinion too...I agree.
Indeed...this 'rumour' appears to be gathering momentum.
Will she be revealed as Nena Blofeld or Irma Bunt in Bond 25 ;-)?? Remember, her last name, "Sciarra" means "troublemaker" in Italian. I'm all in for the return of Bellucci.
Excellent post although I would argue that MR unashamedly achieved exactly what it set out to do so you can only really fault on grounds of personal taste (and perhaps a little too much excess) whereas SP tried to bite off more than it could chew and failed miserably to deliver.
Christ not more retrofitting to try and make it all make sense:
'Oberhauser never told you what happened to your sister. James I am you sister.'
If they're going on with this continuity then Blofeld has to return if not it has to be a clean break. By continuing the story but airbrushing Blofeld out of it you just make bigger fools of yourselves.
PS you're not sexist, you're ageist: 55 is the new 45 (well that's what my wife says)
Nice that you like idea of her return, who i already exspectre after my view in the cinema.
The main title of Spectre reprent her as ''van je sokkel (voetstuk) vallen''. What mean ''showing your true colors'''
Agree 100% about Lucia being a SP higher-up, that'd be awesome.
Also she was very underused in Spectre so I'd love to see her come back.
"I was looking again at Spectre and thinking that a nice twist would be that Lucia was actually a high up Spectre agent and set Bond up for the meeting. This would explain how easily she was seduced and how easily she supplied the intel. Also fits in with "I've been expecting you" as he arranged the set up.
There was also something "Cruella de Vi" about her so pretty easy to imagine her "on the dark side". Once Bond found this out, he would be angry at her and himself so you have the in built revenge as a plot line (plus the back story that he really did fancy her so we have the mutual sexual chemistry)
So getting her back as a Spectre agent is interesting IMHO"
Is he just forgotten about as the petulant teenager he was or is the shock twist that she is the real boss of SPECTRE?
Seriously you've got to quit while you're behind and for EON to go down this road would be just Ike bunging the SP script in the microwave and hoping just you heat it all the way through so you don't get a bout of salmonella.
Oberhauser was a fraud who unrightfully used the name and legend of Blofeld. Much like The Mandarin in Iron Man 3. The real Blofeld comes out of retirement when he hears about this and wreaks havoc big time, the first thing being that he has Oberhauser killed.
That is exactly how I see it. I bet she hasn't heard of EON since Spectre.
i really enjoy SP.. but it's middle of the road Bond movie to me.. it has beautiful cinematography, and regardless of some who feel Craig "phoned it in", i feel like it was Craig's at his most comfortable in the roll - and he handled the humor well, just because he doesn't do it with a tie straighten, or a wink and a smile doesn't mean he can't do it....
my problems with the movie lie in the fact that the spectre organization wasn't given a proper build back into the Bond mythos - it seemed like they rushed through it... i didn't like the retconning of stuff from the previous films just so they could fit this film's narrative - and then have it hastily explained away so flippantly... the Blofeld / Bond family connection I didn't care for... i understand they are not brothers - but giving Blofeld ties to Bond's childhood was definitely not needed, and only serves the purpose of Mendes' getting off on pseudo family drama in his films.. lastly, the film was about 20 minutes too long.. the whole last act in London could've and should've been consolidated into a big final showdown at Blofeld's crater lair, instead of jetting back to London to fulfill another one of Mendes' thematic strokings.
she is still one sexy Cougar though - i wouldn't throw her out of bed for eating crackers, even if crackers was my dog.
Noooo she was actually the mastermind all along. What happened you see is that she was in charge of SPECTRE but while she was in Rome little Franny Oberhauser pretended to be Blofeld just to f-bomb with Bond's head. All the time it was her, she was the author of all Bond's pain. She lived under cover as Sciarra's wife all these years and knew Bond would turn up at her house so she hired some guys to pretend to kill her to fool Bond. It's a labyrinthine plot that will all be revealed to us in B25 and SP will suddenly make perfect sense.
And this is why EON would be insane to listen to the fans opinion @Gustav_Graves because there's already been quite a few posts saying that this is a good idea when it's actually purest dogshit.
I know my faith in EON is a rock bottom but I think even they would have the good sense to realise that when you're at the bottom of a hole you don't keep digging.
I'm beginning to think McClory was a blessing in disguise for keeping the rights out of their hands for 50 years if they are seriously contemplating foisting this dismal storyline on us.
Oberhauser being a "fake Blofeld" sounds a tad silly, and general audiences would just be confused by it. Rather than having a "real Blofeld," they just need a "real head of SPECTRE." Oberhauser is Blofeld, just in this timeline Blofeld is a red herring for the true leader of SPECTRE.
except this would be more of that annoying retconning events to fit the new story... at least in Iron Man 3 - it was made clear that Ben Kingsly was not the real Mandarin, but a stand-in, so there was no need to explain it away in a future movie..
but let me play devil's advocate, if it were revealed that Oberhauser was just a stand-in for the real Blofeld.. it would be interesting.. BUT, they've already gone the extra mile of giving Waltz the Blofeld facial/eye scar... it would be stupid to throw away all of that just for the sake of shallow "haha, we tricked you!" moment.
I know about the Hail to the King short, but that doesn't really count because it's just a fun thing for the fans, not apart of an official movie.
Maybe in the next movie she will come back mad that he ditched her. Got her hot and bothered for nothing?
Really your comment shows so much respect for the character of 007 and a splendid actress.
