Now, I'll be trying Trance. See if that one can get me excited enough.
Those are all great films. Not a zombie movie fan, but loved 28 Days.
On the other hand, they must have pitched at least a basic idea to Eon, so I guess it´s going to be allright. My biggest problem with Mendes was Mendes, not the script. I just don´t tune to his style. I enjoyed pretty much every Boyle film I´ve seen so far, so consider me an investor.
He stuffs every film he´s doing with boring political messages, even his Olympics opening ceremony.

QUESTION:So after working with Daniel Craig on the intro to the Olympics would you be interested in possibly doing a Bond film in the future?
BOYLE: It sort of interesting, because we feel like we have done one, it’s very short obviously but it’s an amazing cast. I love the Bond movies, and the books were part of my growing up, it’s very difficult to convey to you how important they were to me. I read them all multiple times. When you are 14 alone in your bedroom and your glimpsing a world that isn’t your Catholic upbringing hasn’t prepared you for. I don’t think I would make a good job of a Bond movie and I wouldn’t want to spoil my relationship with it like that. I am happy to remain a consumer after having a little taste.
These pics on this thread of P & W are pretty funny whereas every pic I've seen of Richard Maibaum, he looks immensely cool, and suave. Maibaum looked like he could have been hard-boiled noir character in a Raymond Chandler novel.
Looking forward to this change with Boyle and Hodge. I must say, I am all for a lower key Bond adventure. A tight and gripping thriller for Craig's last go.
Low chance at present imho. I think they plan to hit that previously announced release date as of now.
Craig's Bond isn't arrogant, white and English...?
Pray tell me what your version constitutes...
We may get something earlier on an MGM conference call but it may only involve announcing the domestic and foreign distributor.
Again, all guesswork.
I think MAY is a key word.
Danny Boyle? Uninpired choice? What are you smoking? This should be very exciting not only for any Bond fan, but also fans of movies in general, as Boyle is an accomplished director who has never directed a movie on this scale before.
Interesting that Boyle has read all the novels. Never would have guessed it! It’s all shaping up quite nicely. Have to say that I’m much more excited by Boyle than I ever was by Mendes, who I had major doubts about from the start.
I am reasonably confident that at the very least he will not screw it up. I can’t think of a truly bad Boyle film - even when not 100% successful his films are well made and usually (BIG difference from Mendes) have a coherent and compelling story at their heart. I feel with Boyle he’s the kind of director who really starts with the story which for me is really important. Looking forward to some tight, twisty, plotting.
I guess the big question will be what tone is it going to be? Big and brash? Small and intimate? Boyle can do either very well. Maybe we will get a bit of both.
He’s such an eclectic director it’s almost impossible to predict what direction he will take. He doesn’t seem to repeat himself or work with the same actors. He doesn’t have a go to composer either which leaves things wide open.
I think we can all breath easy that we’ve seen the last of Thomas ‘recycle’ Newman. And what a relief to wave goodbye to P+W, possibly the stalest writing duo of all time.
So Nolan will be next! :D
Are you sure that's them? Looks like a piss poor P&W tribute act (Christ alone knows who would book them).
Either that or John Bishop with full blown Aids and Sloth out of the Goonies .
After being teased with Nolan and Villeneuve, I tend to agree, but give the man a chance.
